"Why do you look stronger every time I meet you?" Max asked as he looked at Bahamut. He really didn't know just how this kid was doing it, if there was some secret trick then he would really love to know it.
"Shouldn't I be the one asking that?" Bahamut said as he looked at Max, he was sure that Max would beat sh*t out of him if they fought.
"Anyways, how is it going with the spirit shell?" Max asked looking at him. It had been a while since he gave it to him.
"Its still with me. I have started to feel some connection recently. I don't know how long its going to take for me to finally be able to interact with the spirit…" Bahamut replied with a helpless look on his childish face.
"Well, we don't have another way here after all.." Max replied with a sigh.
"Why are your eyes covered though?" Bahamut asked and everyone turned towards Max, this was the question which the entire nation wanted to be answered.
"My powers are kind of rampaging since I advanced a bit too fast…and I have an eye ability. Believe me, you wouldn't want to look me in the eye." Max was helpless here. He was trying his best to control it, but it was still going to take a bit of time just to get it to activate and deactivate at his will.
"Sir, here it is.." Suddenly, one of the Bahamut's assistant passed a form to Max. He would be joining the group once again in his original name after all.
After Max had filled it up, his job was done. Bahamut and his people were going to take care of the rest.
"You still have some time right?" Bahamut asked and Max nodded, he was free until noon actually.
"Then lets go on some hunting. Your Mercenary rank as Shura is too low. Even though I have been farming for you, the real fame comes form beating strong people and not from collecting materials. If we continue like this, people might question your position as a top member."
"True, I guess…" Max replied and the two were soon out with a bunch of targets ranging from Early Stage of Expert Tier to the Early Stage of Master Tier.
With the two of them together, it was no big deal. They roamed around till noon before finally returning with a bloody appearance.
When the news broke out that the two had killed dozens of High Class criminal in a single day, the entire Mercenary District began to buzz.
The Demon Slayer Group was registered with a Grand Master Tier Mercenary at its core who was the Gentle Giant of the Zen House. Obviously, he was registered under a disguise and was usually not here at work.
People had always believed the rumors to be false as they hadn't even seen a single Master Tier Mage in their ranks, there was no way for them to have a Grand Master Tier. But today people were shocked to find that among the people killed, there were two Master Tier Mages who were at middle stage and 4 at Early stage. There were even a dozen or so Expert Tiers who had been slaughter lie chickens.
It proved that they were strong and were only below the top groups. But there was one thing which shocked even the top groups. It was the information network.
It really wasn't easy to find these people's hidden location. Even the Top groups were helpless here. Only large Mage Families were capable of doing this and obviously a Mercenary group couldn't compare to large Mage Families who had at least 2 to 3 Supreme Tiers and a lot more members then Mercenary groups.
"Who would have thought that two people had advanced to mid stage of Master Tier, I would have died if I was alone.." Bahamut said as he fell on the couch.
"Who are you lying to you? I am sure you could have escaped to safety…." Max shook his head and sat down as the medical personnel came to treat him. He got injured during the fights and his previous injuries caused by the commanding beast seemed to have flared up again.
After he was done with the treatment an the guy left, Max turned towards Bahamut.
"Did you find anything about your own family?" He suddenly asked after remembering about the time when he saw Kevin and Farly, Bahamut's brother talking to each other.
"Well, I asked Uncle Giant, apparently there is some secrets but only the Lord and the next in line which is my brother should be aware off.." Bahamut said with a frown.
"You people are good at masking yourself, right?" Max asked.
"Yeah, we have a mana technique which allows to change our appearances and mana signature.." Bahamut nodded before asking, "Why do you ask?"
"Nah, just having some random thoughts…anyway, when are you going to pass that technique to me?" Max asked a bit in excitement.
"Those are family treasures, even I only was able to look at it once. If it wasn't for the system helping me to arrange the information into a skill in those days, do you think I could have learned it that easily?" Bahamut retorted.
Max couldn't help but agree to that.
"Hmmn?" Max felt someone contacting him through the transmitter that he had received yesterday. He was told that they would contact when things on their side was properly sorted out.
"Give me a second.." Max looked at Bahamut showing him the transmitter and walked out of the room.
….
"So, what happened?" Bahamut asked seeing that Max had finally returned.
"Well, I am the head as planned. They really gave full freedom on this matter. But since the Dark Society is spread throughout the continent, it isn't possible for me to move all around. So, they just asked me to deal with their Seven main bases while they would wipe out the rest once I finish the deal at my end."
"Yeah, I heard that the Dark Lord took control over the Seven Sins after his son was killed at Ishtar by you and since then Seven Sins have become the seven main pillars of the Dark Society and he has merged his own legion with them too. Aside from the previous Lord of Lust, Lord of Pride and Lord of greed, everyone submitted to him. This had led to a formation of a new structure and brought a lot of changes within them.."
"What happened to the previous Lords who didn't submit to him?" Max asked curiously.
"They are either on the run or are still there out in the open. After all, even the Dark Society wouldn't dare to cause trouble out in the open. That would be equivalent to slapping Union's Face.." Bahamut replied before asking, "So, how many people have they given to you? Without a few Supreme Tier under you, don't even think of going to kill them. Even though they don't show it on surface, I am sure they have Supreme Tier experts hidden among their ranks.."
Max knew that as well. Without a strong powerhouse supporting, it wasn't possible for them to be standing for such a long time.
"Well, I guess I will open a new base for our Mercenary Group in Trinity then…" Max said as he got up.
"So, you are going to Trinity, I will arrange someone to help you out on Mercenary group matters there." Bahamut said when he suddenly seemed to have remembered something, "I hear the next competitions are at Trinity as well. Guess you will be able to support everyone.."
"Anyway, I will be leaving tomorrow. They didn't provide any information about the people under me though. I will have to meet them in order to find about it…I just hope they won't mess around with this thing.." Max said as he left the place and headed towards the a cafe where he had an appointment with two people.
'Its going to be fun..' Max couldn't help but smile thinking about it.
....
Morning Cafe, Frost District.
"You are here?" Max asked with a smile but the lady with a blue hairs and a cold aura emanating from her didn't seem happy at all seeing him.
"I really hate it when you do this...." Namen replied with an unhappy look on her face as she sat beside Max.
"What's wrong with using honey trap for a greater good?" Max asked righteously. "If you don't do it today, can you bear the consequences when thousands of people will die tomorrow?"
"Stop exaggerating like this...I will do it okay!!" Namen finally gave in the towel when their prey walked into the place innocently unaware of the fact that he was going to sacrificed today.
