Max was heading towards the hotel. His mood wasn't the best honestly. He really didn't know what to do with the Roxley Lord; it seemed meeting with Lady Melinda was going to be his only way out of this situation.
'Well, she is a smart lady and it wouldn't take her long to realize what had happened. She would probably try to contact me when she knows about it.'
It would then be the right time for Max to make a move.
Both he and Melinda were on the same side so it shouldn't take long for him to win her favor. It would only then be the starting point of getting that annoying man's approval.
Max couldn't help but sigh. When thought about what had happened before he couldn't but thik if even he was receiving such a treatment, he couldn't imagine how much worse it was going to be for Lear.
"Hmmn?" Max suddenly frowned when he realized that there was again a group of people who had started to follow his trail. It seemed to be the same ones who had done so in the morning.
'Just who are these people…' Max muttered inwardly but didn't try to confront them. He knew that people like this barely had chances of having any fruitful knowledge. Hence, it was better to follow them and try to trace their tracks rather than capturing them.
In the end, Max quietly let Thrice out of the spirit world and let it hide in one of the dark shadows and wait for a chance to get in the shadow of one of the people who was following behind. This way, he could easily reach out to the person whom they were taking orders from and if there was no such person it would become clear as well.
So, after he was done with that, Max continued onto his path without a sign of worry.
…
Venue Point Hotel, Trinity.
Max arrived at the place and as soon as he did, he found someone waiting for him there.
It was Rihanna.
"I am sorry for what happened in the morning." She immediately apologized for what happened in the morning and it eased the frown on Max's face which had emerged after seeing her.
"Why are you here?" Max asked, looking at her.
"Can we talk for a while? Like in private?" She said while looking around.
Max nodded before leading her upstairs where they had given him his own private lounge to sit and relax with the people he wanted.
As Max and Rihanna took their seat, Max went ahead and ordered some food. He was hungry and his dinner plans had also been canceled after he was kicked out of the Roxley House by the Lord.

"So? What did you want to talk about?" He asked with a calm look as he crossed his arms. He was willing to lend his ears once but he wanted it to be something reasonable. If she was just here to beg for forgiveness for her friend, she could forget about it.
Rihanna looked at Max and honestly, his glasses really we're getting her curious but she refrained herself from asking him.
"Umn...about what happened today, it was actually all my fault," Rihanna said with a guilty look on her face. She really seemed to be sad about what had taken place.
"And why do you think so?" Max asked her. He had no idea whether she was telling the truth or not. He had to hear it first to decide what had happened.
"Let me explain it from the first," Rihanna looked at Max and then paused in hesitation. It seemed that she was having a hard time saying what she had in her mind. But in the end, she gritted her teeth and said, "Me and Synthia...we...we.. like each other."
Max's brows slightly raised a bit but he didn't interrupt her. It was their choice who they wanted to be with. He had no right to speak about someone else. Not to mention, he didn't care what they did honestly as they were just two strangers to him.
"We actually made our relationship public. I mean our close friends and higher up among the Families know about it. But most of them don't support us. If not for that we would have let the whole world know about it."
Max knew it was going to be tough for then to get accepted. They were the leading figures of their generation and the two were ladies which provided for an excellent alliance marriage or someone who could give birth to a stronger next generation.
It was very hard to see that the higher ups of the Ancient Families would just allow them to do as they wished for. It was very unlikely for that to happen.
"But recently, we finally had a chance," Rihanna further said before raising her head to look at Max. This immediately made Max frown. He was starting to have a bad a bad feeling about it.
"T-They said…." Rihanna tried to speak but couldn't and in the end turned her face towards the ground.
Max could see her cheeks turning red and it instantly made his dreadful feeling multiplied by a hundred times. Something was definitely up here. And it didn't seem good at all.
"Will you speak already?" Max couldn't help but ask with a frown when he saw that she was still blushing instead of replying.
"Well...a few of the elders who were not initially in our support had put forward a proposal and if we can fulfill it. We will be finally accepted and be able to live without any worries and be totally open about it."
"Get to the main point, what is the proposal..:" Max really wanted her to stop beating around the bush and just come out with what it was.
"Well...you know...if it's just the two of us then we could stay together no doubt about it but we can't build a family with just the two of us...you understand….like we can't have kids..so-"
"Get out." Max calmly interrupted her. He didn't want to hear it any longer. He had already understood a bit of it and wasn't a least bit interested in knowing the whole.
"Wait, I am not done yet." Rihanna suddenly said when she realized that Max had already sent her flying out.
