"Are they your friends?" Roman asked Lora with a smile as he welcomed the girls inside. His attitude was totally different from what it had been earlier. He seemed like a different person altogether.
"Dad, did someone come in my absence?" Lora asked with a smile. It seemed that she had a great day today. One couldn't blame her for that. She had become an introvert after what had happened with Lisa. Now that she has started to open up. She was feeling happier than ever.
Especially today, she didn't know how long it had been since she visited malls with friends. She had only been around with Lear until now when she truly felt happy from the bottom of her heart. But now she had the same feeling.
It was because she was feeling relieved. After all, her friends had forgiven her. This had always been the source of her worry. Now, as long as Lisa and Edward too forgive her, she could fully be at ease.
"No, there hasn't been anyone around," Roman replied with a smile. The guy didn't even flinch a bit while lying as if he was the truth himself.
"Let me call Max," Janet said with a smile and took her phone out. But, her phone's battery turned out to be dead.
Elly decided to take over but surprisingly her phone's battery was dead as well.
"I will inform your friend, you guys go ahead and enjoy yourself. It isn't everyday that we have your friends over at our house." Roman intervene with a smile when Lora was about to take her phone out.
Lora looked at her father nodded before taking the group along with her. But Melinda, who had been staring at Roman from the start, stood there.
"What's wrong, Dear?" Roman asked her with a sweet smile and tried to reach out for her hands.
"Pak!"
But Melinda wasn't having it. She immediately slapped his hand away.
"What's wrong?" He asked her with a frown. He either had no idea what was going on or he was just that good at pretending.
"You fully know what's wrong here," Melinda said while glaring at him. She was not happy with what he had done.
"Go and get him back right now." Melinda looked at him with those calm and commanding eyes.
"What are you talking about, Dear?" Roman feigned innocence. He really looked like a guy who didn't have the least idea about what had happened earlier. Max would even doubt if this guy had multiple personality disorder if he was right here at this moment.
Well, it was no wonder that this guy beat Ander Barnes and got Melinda's heart. He really knew how to act after all. Ander didn't seem to have a chance against him from the very start considering his acting skills.
"Fine then, from today. I too would forget a lot of things. Let's start with forgetting about tonight's plan. No, why only tonight. Let's not have any such nights to begin with."
Roman's face instantly changed on hearing that. The mere thought of this was horrifying to him. But this wasn't even the end of it.
"And, yeah..I should tell father what you did behind his back too." She further added. "Not to mention, father was fully supportive of my decision. What do you think will happen when he finds out that just because of your overprotectiveness, you made an enemy out of someone that we were supposed to befriend." Melinda was ruthless with her words and didn't show any mercy to him.
"You are my sweet wife, right? You won't do any of it right?" Roman asked as he began to sweat. It was times like this that he felt he hadn't won and lost instead. May be the true winner was Barnes who had found someone else instead of Melinda.
"Of course, I won't do any of it," Melinda replied with a smile and Roman's eyes lit up. He knew that Melinda would realize it one day and stop doing this. But, he was celebrating too early it seemed.
"But there is a condition, go and get him back right now," Melinda further said with a smile, but this wiped the smile off of her husband's face.
"You are not serious right?" He asked with a dumbfounded face. Just what look was he supposed to have on his face while inviting Max back? Could he really even ask him to come back after sending him out like that?
"Yes, I am serious. I don't care what method you use. You just need to make sure of two things. First, he has to be here and second, I don't want any complaints from him. If you fail, I will kick you out of the house."
With that, Melinda left and walked upstairs.
On the other hand, Roman stood there thinking what to do. In the end, he sighed. He knew his wife well. She would do what she had said. There was no doubt about it.
'Hell, who leaked out the information to her!' Roman cursed the guy inwardly. Even though he tried his best to block the information, some always backstabbed him. He couldn't even remember how many moles he had fired, but only god knew why everyone gave up in front of his wife.
Well, he wasn't the one to talk here. After all, he was no different in that aspect. He couldn't do anything if his wife said no to it. His father trusted her more than him. She really controlled the whole place. There was one benefit to it though, he had a lot of time on his hand.
Roman lacked an idea about how scary his wife could be. After all, she was still being lenient on him.

Venue Point Hotel, Trinity.
Max finally had a bit of rest. Rihanna had just gone and her words had really pissed him even more. He was waiting to find these b*stards who had put forward the bullish*t condition in front of them. Did they really think he was some kind of animal they could breed at their wish?
In the end, he just shook his head and tried to calm down and achieve inner peace. But the peace didn't last long and his phone's ringtone soon broke his peace.
Max picked the call and it turned out to be Lear's father.
