Melinda stood there with a frown on her face. She seemed to be in deep thought. And, after much consideration, she finally took out her transmitter from her storage device.
"Where are you? Logan has betrayed us, and kidnapped Lora."
It was obvious whom she was trying to communicate with.
A minute passed, but there was no reply from the other side. This further darkened her face.
In the end, she sent a couple of messages to Roman explaining the entire situation to him.
"Let's-" Melinda's mouth paused when she noticed that Lear was missing.
"Where did he go?" She frowned heavily, and her expression began to turn darker.
'Don't tell me…'
There was more than enough of a possibility that Lear had heard the location of meet up on the phone. After all, he was standing so close to her. Not to mention, Mages had superhuman capabilities.
At this moment, a message suddenly came to her transmitter.
"I see…Bang!...crackle! ...f*ck you!...where were we… yeah.. don't do anything…. Bang!.. you son of a b*tch!..."
The message ended there and Melinda brows twitched.
A few seconds later, another message came in.
"Sorry, dear...I am a bit busy. But anyway, don't do anything, I will be coming shortly. Until then, ask that Barne's son to go and save Lora. If he wants my daughter, then that guy must be able to protect her at least. If he can't even show this much guts, then he can forget about it….he can't even enter my consideration list of candidates."
And, with that the message ended.
Melinda stood there in shock. She couldn't believe how lightly Roman had taken the matter of their daughter. He even asked Lear to go ahead and try until he came.
This immediately enraged her. She was ready to chew the guy out.
"She is our daughter!! Do you care for her safety or not!!"
A reply immediately came, "Dear… Bang!..you piece of sh*t!"
The message ended there and a vein popped up on Melinda's forehead. She could understand that the guy was engaged in a fight.
But, why did it feel like he was deliberately trolling her?
She waited for another reply. And, it came, only to further enraged her.
"Can't talk, will get to you soon. Don't do anything until then."
How was she not supposed to do anything?
It was her daughter's life at stake!
She tried to message him again, but there was no reply from him. It only left Melinda grinding her teeth in anger.
"You better pray that nothing happens to my daughter! If she even suffers a scratch, I am divorcing you!" She left one last message for Roman and then called the people deployed from their house to guard the area.
Soon, a few people arrived. And, the numbers were very less then she had actually called for.
This group of people were being led by the First Elder, the one with status just below that of the Lord and the Grand Elder.
This man was actually one of the neutral elders. And, had always remained in that position. He was a fair and just man.
But, to her surprise he didn't listen to her. This really left her flabbergasted.
"My Lady, please try to understand the situation. It's dangerous outside. We are here on the Lord's order to ensure your safety." The First Elder forced smile on his face.
To be honest, he didn't want to get on the bad side of the Lady of the House. But, he had no choice today.
"You people…" Melinda glared at them. But, even though they look scared, they didn't leave nor did they succumb to her.
'It isn't possible for them to take Roman's side against me. Did father interfere in the situation?' Melinda frowned as she thought about it.
But, this didn't make sense. Why would father do that? Not to mention, he wouldn't put Lora's life at risk.
It wasn't making sense to her. Something was missing here.
...
Lear had already moved out of the place, and was speeding up towards his destination.
And, he was getting pissed at Max with each passing second.
"You better not let me find you…" He muttered with a raging look on his face.
He was sure to punch Max if he came across him right now.
Wilson was currently dozing off. He had just come in after training for a while. The exhaustion naturally made him fell asleep as he hit the bed to just lied down and take rest for a bit.
Slowly, his eyes opened up.
"When did I fall asleep?" He muttered rubbing his eyes, and then looked at the clock.
Well, it seemed that he had taken his time. It was more than an hour or two.
He was planning to go out and grab some dinner now.
"Hmmn?" Suddenly, he noticed that there was a message for him.
And, when he finally opened it to take a look at it's content, his eyes widened in shock.
His face slowly turned grim, and he immediately rushed out of the place without even trying to get fresh or a change of his clothes.
"That foolish girl…"
He was really angry. One could say from the veins popping out on his forehead.
"Crackle!"
He didn't hold back at all. He didn't know the exact timing of when the message had came, but he was pretty sure that it was somewhere around 30 to 60 minutes ago.
That was a lot of time in this situation. Hence, he immediately activated his second true spell, and just shot forward at the speed of light.
He didn't care how much of his mana was being consumed, or whether he would crash at someplace due to lack of control over the skill.
…
A while earlier…
Axel and Erina had already traveled near to the place where they were supposed to meet up with Neo.
'Where is that guy?' Axel muttered inwardly as his frown began to turn heavier and heavier.
There was no sight of Wilson around. If it continued like this, wouldn't they be doomed?
The Hero had to be on time! What in hell was that guy doing?!
"You should think carefully, there is still some time left for you to change your decision."
Without any sight of Wilson around, Axel could only try to convince Erina to give up on the matter.
"I have already made my decision, I won't be going back." Erina shook her head, "But, you can go back if you are afraid. I didn't call you in the first place."
Axel would have considered her to be an angel, if she didn't have a smug and disdainful look on her face while telling that.
The girl was clearly looking down on him.
"You can go away, and play with your dolls or watch cartoons.." She further added.
Axel's expression immediately turned dark, "Those are action figures, and anime. Please correct your words."
"Yeah, the same thing." Erina waves her hand. She clearly didn't give two sh*t about it.
"Hmph! At least I have a life here, but what do you have for your life?"
"Hmmn… let me count.."
Axel began to count on his fingers, and after a good while he raised his index finger, "Your brother…''
Erina's face immediately turned ugly.
"Your life revolves around your brother alone. Let's be honest, I don't even think you have any friends that you made through your own efforts. Most of them just probably came due to the fact that you were a daughter of the Lord…"
"You have nothing in your life.."
"The thing you like is your brothers things, the food you like is what your brother asked you to cook, the guy you like the most in the world is your brother, your pass time is talking about your brother.."
He had got most of this information during their conversation earlier. He didn't think it would come handy this soon.
"I think being an otaku is far better than a bro-con…" Axel said with a smirk. His gaze was full of disdain as if he was starting at some dirty pest.
"Y-You!! I have my father too!" Erina retorted in anger.
"Yeah, the Lord...I forgot to talk about him. I am an orphan. But, seeing him, I actually feel relieved that I am one. So, thank him from my side when you meet him." Axel smiled at her.
Erina stood there in confusion, but a second later her face twisted in anger when she finally understood it.
"Flare!"
Flames immediately lit up on her fist and Axel broke out in a come sweat. He was not a close-ranged fighter. He was not ready for this.
Erina's body quivered for a second, and then the flames died down.
"Don't follow me.." She turned around with her head down. Axel couldn't see her face at all as she left with that gloomy around her.
'Did I go overboard? But, she didn't have to bring anime in it..' Axel began to feel frustrated over it.
He was now feeling bad.. But, she was the one who started it.
