"Well, aren't you quite a matchmaker?" The old man smiled at Max. "I don't know how capable this person whom Lora has chosen is. But, he sure has an eye for making friends."
Max shook his head with a smile on hearing that. He wondered if Lear shared the same sentiment after all he had done to him.
"I will take that as your agreement then," Max said, looking at the old man.
"Well, I will certainly think about it. But, you are not to help him in any way. He shouldn't even be aware of the matter." The old man smiled.
Roman stood behind with a helpless look on his face. His father and Melinda were on the same side. So, it obviously made sense he was more than willing here. Not to mention, this was really a good chance to test Lear and also show him to be worthy enough.
"Sure, I will do as you say." Max nodded. He was confident in Lear's character. He definitely wouldn't think twice before putting his life on the line for Lora.
…..
Abandoned Factory, Trinity.
Current situation...
Max stood in front of Logan with a smile on his face. There had indeed been a long story behind his presence here today. But, it sure was worth it. He had done everything he could do to make sure that things didn't go wrong, and he seemed to have succeeded half the way for sure.
Now, the rest was on Roxley Lord's end. He hoped that the man would do his part and save him from some trouble.
As for that old man, he was sure somewhere around watching them. But, to think he didn't come out to help. That certainly was annoying. It seemed he would have fight his way out of here.
"Would you keep lying there or get up to help me, Darling?" Max looked at Lear with with a frown, and his words instantly sank Lear's face. Lear could surely feel a dark future ahead where he would be constantly getting teased for it.
"Tsk.." In the end, he could only click his tongue in dissatisfaction before getting up to face the person in front of him.
"You people sure have got the nerve to be at ease," Logan said with a menacing smile on his face. He sure wasn't finding it entertaining to be ignored.
"Whoosh!"
The mana around Logan fluctuated and the pressure of Master Tier Mage came crashing down on Lear and Max.
Lear immediately felt a heaviness on his shoulder while Max stood there with ease. He was immune to pressure, but there was a slight frown on his face.
Logan was at the top of Master Tier Mage, not an easy opponent to deal with.
"You fine, babe?" Max asked Lear with a smile seeing that the guy had sweat sliding down his chin.
"F*ck off! And, leave me alone! Or do you want me to kill you first!" Lear snapped in anger. He really wanted to strangle this b*stard to death.
"Bang!"
Logan moved and Max's eyes constricted as he pushed Lear to the side before moving himself as well.
"Zmmn!"
The moment the two of them parted, a pitch back shadow zoomed past them and crashed into the mechanical industrial arm behind.
"Crash!"
"What is that thing?!" Lear asked with a frown. He sure seemed to have seen something shocking.
Max didn't reply, but just stared at the place of the crash. His eyes had turned serious, he had barely reacted to the last attack. That certainly was a close call.
As the dust cleared, both Max and Lear's face turned dark on the sight of Logan in front of them.
Lear couldn't help, but gulped as he raised his head to look at the giant figure standing in front of them.
Logan had transformed. His body had grown several times and a dark grey fur had grown over his body. His ears had turned long, and were pointing upwards. A fluffy looking tail had grown from his back, but no one would probably dare to go and give it a pat. His teeth had all grown into something vicious. Those canines surely had the strength to chew anyone's bones to dust. And, lastly there was that murderous look in his eyes. It was that of a beast staring at his prey.
Max and Lear exchanged a look, and simultaneously spoke.
"It's a werewolf!"
"It's a Dog!"
Well, they certainly shared some different opinions.
"Are you blind?" Max couldn't believe this guy. That was f*cking Werewolf! Just how could anyone mistake it for a dog?
"Bro! Look at that tail! That's a hundred percent dog!" Lear retorted in disbelief.
"Are you kidding me?" Max stared at Lear.
"No, I am not. I actually am scared of Rabies. And, believe me, my Rabies indicator is going off. That thing is a street dog. It hasn't taken its shots!" Lear pointed his finger at Logan and said with an utmost serious look.
Max's face twitched a bit and Logan's face immediately turned dark.
"Rabies indicator my ass! Just let me find a Silver Bullet, I will show you how things run with his tail between his legs!" Max retorted as before beginning to look through his storage device.
"Tsk...Silver? I just need a biscuit to prove my theory is correct," Lera said with a smug face.
"You know what, I don't even need a silver bullet. Just look at that." Max pointed at one of the holes in the ceiling. And, a smirk leaked out on his face as if he had won the battle.
It was a full moon tonight.
"Damn! This doggo really is a wolf!" Lear looked at Logan a bit in disbelief and a bit disappointed. "It really looks like a dog though…"
He still wasn't willing to give up.
"Well, maybe one of his parents was a dog.." Max patted his shoulder, consoling the poor guy.
"Oh! I get it now! Your mother was a b*tch!" Lear clasped his hand with a smile on his face as he looked at Logan. His face was booming with happiness as if he had figured it all out.
Max's face twitched a bit.
The rule one of fighting a stronger opponent was to disturb their mental state. Otherwise, there was no chance of victory. But, Lear had taken the rule in a different manner. He wasn't just trying to enrage the opponent, but kill him with insults.
This was just too much to bear.
"You brats!!!!" Logan let out a piercing howl as his eyes turned red in anger. He had never been insulted in this manner before.
"Sh*t!" Lear cursed as he immediately moved backwards, trying to get out of the way of the beast that was charging towards him.
Max on the other hand, busted out in flames and within a second the whole factory was set ablaze.. This was probably the best way to attract attention.
