A silence had enveloped the whole Arena. Nobody could even let out a word. They were all shocked.
It wasn't every day that you saw an impossible thing being turned into possible.
Terry had done the same today.
Nobody had seen it coming.
To think that the person who was considered unrivalled with Max gone had met his match in this manner.
People indeed wanted to say that it was luck, but when they thought about what had happened, they couldn't dare to say it out loud.
Could they have been lucky in that situation?
Most probably not..
Terry was lucky, because he worked hard, struggle when others would give up. He was lucky because he didn't lose hope. He was lucky because knew his weakness and strength.
He wasn't blessed by the goddess of luck, rather he made the goddess give him the blessings.
There was a huge difference between the two. And, people sure realized it today.
"Woahhh!!!"
A loud shout came from the Arcane stands and the next instant, the whole Arena bursted in cheers.
Orca sure had their faces twisting in frustration while the other Academies had mixed expression. Some were surprised, some just treated it as mere fluke while there were some whose eyes were blazing with flames. How could one not desire the feeling of achieving the impossible?
If a guy like that could do it, then they sure cloud too. They believed themselves to be superior and weren't willing to give up that easily.
…
"Damn it!" Nathan cursed when he saw Kain being engulfed in an white light and disappearing, right before he hit the concrete pavement.
This was bad.
They surely hadn't expected him to get eliminated this quick.
"Let's retreat. I have a bad feeling about this." Aria was quick to judge the situation, and Nathan too had to agreed with her.
They had lost Kain, and he was injured as well.
As for the other team, they too had lost a guy. But two of them were all fine, with one having placed his eyes on them like a hawk.
"Huh?" Naze suddenly felt the floor below shake.
The next instant shaking increased, and his face instantly turned grim.
It was only now that he realized that there was a constant noise in their surroundings. It took him a while, but he realized that it was the noise of water flowing.
He immediately frowned.
He sure remember that before had gotten up on his building, the water on the streets belo-
His eyes suddenly widened.
Right!! There wasn't any water on the streets!!
That was definitely not possible considering that they were at the down side of the city. So, water should have been clogged towards them instead.
"Something is wrong! There is a constant flow of water from the slope ahead." Aria suddenly informed him in a tensed voice.
"How is that possible?" Naze immediately raised his head, and indeed saw that water flowing towards them from the sloped terrain ahead.
"Provide me cover.." He looked at Aria and she nodded. With her help, he immediately changed location and positioned himself in a better place.
Someone had erected a formation around. The water was actually stopped a few meters behind them by an invisible barrier which was acting like a dam. And, like an obvious science, the water level on their side was rising. This was the reason that the building they were on had began to shake.
It might collapse any moment.
'That guy..' He immediately knew who was behind it.
"We need to get to the higher ground fast. If we fall in water, we will be an easy target.." He immediately urged Aria.
He then asked her to wait for his signal. The next instant, he shot a ball of white light up into the sky.
"Zmnn!"
The moment it exploded, a white light engulfed everything around. Anyone who had been standing around probably had been blinded by it.
"Go!!"
With that, the two of them took the risk and immediately rushed out of the place.
…
"Aahh!! My eyes!!" Eren, who had been standing on a slope holding back all the water that he had pulled above, screamed in misery.
"Idiot! Wasn't that too obvious!! What were you expecting to come out of it? Chocolates!" Axel's angry voice came from the communication channel. He had never expected him to act foolishly like that.
"Anyway, these people had dug their own graves. Release everything!"
"Yes," Eren nodded, and the next instant, his power which had been holding tones of water at the top of the slope disappeared. Since the roads in front went straight down like it was some roller coaster ride, the obvious happened.
…
"Hide and take cover in another building. We will use this strategy to get at the slope ahead." Nathan commanded, but suddenly he hear a loud noise as if a bomb had exploded . He immediately turned his face up ahead.
The next instant, he froze.
"These crazy people!!" He cursed in anger, "Take cover!!"
He shouted, and then immediately moved.
If they collided straight on with that waved, It would crush them into meat paste. They would be dead right at the spot.
The huge wave of water finally came down upon them, and the moment it struck the buildings ahead, it knocked them pieces as if they were just pieces of stones kept together.
"Crash!"
Both Nathan and Aria failed the impact even when they had taken cover. There was no way they were escaping this.
Aria's vision immediately went blank for a second there, and she felt her head ache. It was obvious she was injured. She didn't know what had happened, but there surely were bones broken as well.
"Guur!!" When she finally came back, she found herself choking in water.
The obvious reaction was to swim back up, and she did that.
She immediately kicked her legs and began to move upward.
When her head finally popped up out of the water, she breathed heavily in relief.
"Click!"
A sound entered her ear, and when she turned her head, her body froze.
"Don't hold it against me.." Axel smiled at her helplessly.
