Day 105,

Morning thought: I forgot to make Maiko the offer yesterday about staying at the house full-time during the rainy season.  I’ll bring it up when I see her later today.

Secondary morning thought: I never actually got an answer if Maiko would be joining us today.  Guess we’ll find out.

Tertiary morning thought: I did not get enough sleep last night.  Even writing this little bit took longer than it should have.  Nature sprite kept making scratching and growling noises outside my window, keeping me up all night.  Sure, it was frightening the first time or two I woke up to it, but after enough trips to the window with a light only to see nothing there and for the noises to stop until I got back into bed and was just starting to drift off again, it just became irritating.  If you’re invisibly reading over my shoulder again, please take that into account for future pranks.  Dragging them out too long just doesn’t work.

Hopefully the walk to the Village will wake me up a bit.

Nope, still drowsy.  Forgot for a minute there that I usually get a ride on market day.  The rhythmic rocking of the cart kept almost lulling me into a nap, but with just enough bumps every now and then and enough chatter from the family to keep that from actually happening.

Vernon’s shown up at the library to join us for this new round of cathedral exploration.  We’re waiting around now to see if Lin’s going to show up or not.

Cass was pleasantly surprised to find out this was the plan for the day.  I used the lack of sleep as an excuse as to why I didn’t mention it to James on the ride over.  That’s mostly true.  But besides, it’s just a brief day trip and we’ll be back in time for Cass to join her family for dinner and Norman and Marva’s.

Tired.  Long day.  Stomach full.  Lost track of time at the ruins and got back late enough that I walked Cass to her brother’s.  They invited me in and fed me.  Didn’t specify where we were to them when we lost track of time.

I’ll write more about the trip itself when I’m awake enough to think coherently.  Took notes in other notebook while there.  Lin didn’t show.  Was busy with a patient.  Maiko was already there.  Was disappointed by lack of Lin.  Confirmed similarity of script and statues.

That’s enough.  Going to fall asleep at this desk if I don’t move to bed.
