Day 169,

Morning thought: Yesterday was good.  Let’s try to keep that going.

Back in the archive.  Lin left in the morning, as planned, although before she did we discussed the possibility of checking out the cathedral in the rain, possibly next day-after-market-day.  Hopefully Cass and Vernon will be able to make it.

After Lin left I did hang around the house for a little while, mostly waiting to see if the rain would let up.  I asked Maiko if she wanted to do more of the tutoring but she wasn’t really feeling it.

Said she was distracted trying to figure out the best way to put together a bigger boat.

A pause of wondering if I’d be intruding.

I asked if I could help in any way.

A pause that made me wonder if I’d misstepped.

She said she’d rather handle it herself if possible.

Fair enough.

She added that she appreciated the offer though and would keep it in mind.

I wished her luck.

Other than that it was a fairly uneventful day, but not a bad one.  Got back to the library, took care of some requests that had been left, and went back to the extrapolated census.

I briefly considered stopping by to visit Pat while I was out but decided against it.  The last few visits had gotten weird in various ways and I wasn’t ready yet to possibly break the high I was still coming down from after yesterday.

Saw the moon out for the first time in a while.  Looks like we’ll have another mist night soon.  Maybe I’ll visit Pat then.
