Day 19,
Looking around more in the archive bedroom (I need a better name for it) I found an old book with yellowed pages that must have belonged to the old archivist. Or maybe even the archivist before him. At first I thought it might be a journal like this one, but instead it was just page after page of names with entries of events with dates under them. At first glance that seemed normal enough based on the usual books in the archives, but upon closer inspection the events all seem a lot smaller and more personal. First kiss. Decided to become a blacksmith. Got over fear of swimming. On the one hand, kinda creepy. On the other hand, how do you even get that sort of info? Did they just tell him? Did he spy on literally everyone? Did he just make things up in his spare time?
Not sure if I want to put it back in the drawer I found it in, shelve it in the archive, or take it with me to keep investigating.
Learned a new euphemism today while helping a visitor. “Visiting the Blossom Field.” Apparently it means trying to have a child. Or maybe just sex in general? I’m not totally sure. Wonder what the origin of that saying is.
Back at the house for tonight. Saw the floating island again on my way back. Looked like it was tracing the same path I saw it on before. So I guess what I read about them going on fixed circuits is accurate. It just happens to be a several hour offset from being an even number of days, which could make it a little trickier to predict over time.
