Day 79,
Not a whole lot of note today. We’re on the last leg of our trip and I think we’ve hit the point where we’re looking forward to reaching the end. She tries to hide it, but I’m pretty sure Cass at least is starting to get homesick. I’m afraid I’m no good at helping with that sort of thing beyond trying to give her things to do with assisting in sorting out which of the books and documents from Priscilla’s study to take back or leave. Lin’s better at it though. She seems to have a knack for taking people’s minds off things. Useful in her profession I suppose, although it does seem at odds with her demeanor when acting professional. Maybe it’s more like she’s good at distracting herself and happens to bring others along for the ride?
Whatever the subconscious motivations, it was kind of… “heartwarming” isn’t the word, but something close to it… watching the two of them sit out on the grass with Cass at rapt attention while Lin demonstrated proper wound stitching technique with a needle, thread, and two strips of jerky.
