March 10th, 2000 [Midnight, Track]

My legs were aching. I was sweating. I had run around the track a decent amount of times. Even though I had been jogging the air still felt cold. I stared up at the cold night sky. It was just me and my thoughts.

I couldn't get to sleep. I don't know why. That's been a problem lately. I sat down on a nearby bench to rest my exhausted legs. I took a swig from my water bottle.

I stared at the track. The red with white paint track. I heard the sounds of crickets and some birds. I hadn't brought even a small sweater. I began getting cold quickly. It was time to go back inside. I grabbed my bottle and stood up to leave. But I didn't move.

I knew something or someone was watching me. Suddenly, chills ran down my spine as I heard footsteps getting closer. It was running at me.

Although my legs and feet were hurting I picked them up and ran. I could hear the footsteps nearly behind me.

"See... you... soon!" The thing shouted at me. Its voice was raspy.

My heart was racing. I ran inside the dorm building. I tried catching my breath. Slowly, I calmed down. I walked back into my dorm trying to act as if nothing happened.

[5:30 PM, Field]

The sky was clear. Not a cloud in sight. I was making use of it to train outside for once.

"Can we take a break now?! It's been an hour and a half!" Kensho complained.

"Not yet," I responded.

"Kensho's right dude. We should take a break," Rei entered the conversation.

"Alright. I guess we can take a break."

The girls were watching from a bench a few yards away. I saw Haruka walk up to me

"Hey, Haruka-!" I said before getting pulled away by her.

"Aww, look at those two," I heard Hikari say.

She dragged me into the nearby forest that surrounded the entire complex. She looked at me with a worried face.

"What happened?" she asked me, softly.

"What do you mean?"

"I know something happened. What was it?"

Could she tell that I still wasn't feeling the same since last night? I couldn't have her worrying about me. I'd just be a burden to her.

"Haruka it's nothing. Trust me," I said trying to assure her.

It took her a few seconds to see if I was lying or not. She seemed convinced.

"Okay, I trust you."

We walked back to the others after a while.

"What were you two talking about?" Hikari asked us in a teasing voice.

"N-nothing," Haruka answered.

It really wasn't anything major. I checked the time on my watch.

"Kaizu said he needed to talk to me. I'm gonna go now," I said walking away.

[5:45, Dorm A-12]

"So, what did you wanna talk to me about?" I asked Kaizu.

We were in his dorm. He sat on his bed while I stood against a wall.

"I just need you to stay still and close your eyes."

I closed my eyes. It was quiet for a few seconds. Then, I felt a strong hit on my forehead.

"Ow, what was that for?!"

"You'll find out soon enough. That's all you can leave now."

I walked out of the room. Slowly, I began getting dizzy. I could hardly see straight. I stumbled into a wall and fell. Then, everything went black.

***

[???, ???]

I woke up but to my surprise. I saw nothing. It was dark. I was on my back on what felt like a floor. It didn't have a distinct feel. It felt like plain ground. After a few moments, I stood up. I looked around the dark place trying to find something. Suddenly, a bright light shone from above. I couldn't quite see what it is. The light was too bright I had to block it out.

"Be not afraid, Mortal," the light told me. It sounded like a woman.

The light got on floor level and then light dispersed into the room. Everything was white now. Except for me and a strange woman in front of me. She had white hair that I could hardly make out because of the new setting. Along with her hair, she had blue eyes. And she was clothed in some sort of dress.

"Who are you? Where exactly are we?" I asked the woman.

"I am Gatekeeper G-07. This is your mind. Someone has linked your mind and soul with the Sacred Garden."

"Gatekeeper? Sacred Garden? Huh?!"

"I'll explain more later. Meet me in the forest as soon as you wake up. Your friends are trying to wake you."

***

[9:50 PM, Dorm A-05]

I slowly opened my eyes. I looked around trying to figure out where I was now. The place seemed familiar. It was my room. I sat up slowly. My neck and upper back hurt but I brushed it off.

"Hyuri! You're finally awake!" Haruka exclaimed, sounding relieved.

"Haruka?"

She climbed up the ladder quickly and hugged me. I don't think she realized what she'd done because seconds later she pulled away blushing and climbed down.

"Sorry, Haruka I need to go do something."

"This late?" She asked.

I nodded my head and climbed down the ladder quickly. I put my shoes on and ran out. I still had questions. I had to meet her. I headed toward the forest.

***

I stood by a small lake and waterfall in the forest. I waited around for a while. I paced around, kicked the water, stuff like that. I heard a sound. It sounded like a giant door opening. I look up. A transparent-ish white stairway appeared. It just lead up. Then, I saw her. The woman from before. This time she looked about eighteen or nineteen.

With a concerning amount of "chest mass" if you get what I'm saying. But my mind wasn't ravaged by those types of thoughts. I just needed answers. She finally reached the bottom of the steps. She placed her foot on the ground.

"So this is mortal soil," I heard her say under her breath.

"Hey. I want answers on what happened to me," I said, going straight to the point.

"Oh yes. I have some things to explain to you. Thank you for meeting me here. Ask me anything."

"I want to know why you showed up in my mind."

She should be able to answer that at least.

"Like I said before. Both your mind and soul have been linked to the Sacred Garden. Or otherwise known as the Divine Realm of Heaven."

She was from Heaven. This was hard to believe. I didn't know if I could or not. Suddenly...

Boom!

A large explosion occurred. We both looked up. The stairway was attacked. Descending from the dark gray smoke was a person. He landed on top of the water. He stood on the water.

"G-07. What are you doing here? And why are you talking to this peasant?" said the guy.

Who was he? Was he from Heaven as well? He walked forward.

"Mister Gabriel. I apologize for being in the mortal realm, but-"

"No but's!" He yelled as he backhanded her across the face.

Now, this... This pissed me off.

"Hey! What the hell was that for?! Did she do something wrong?!"

He glared at me. His blue eyes illuminated. I conjured my standard claymore, but then he began laughing.

"You dare speak up to me?! You damn idiot! Come at me if you want!"

"SHUT THE HELL UP!!"

I shot at him, sword in hand. I swung from above, but he was a step ahead. My sword struggled against his Aura shield.

"Pathetic. You really are an idiot. Peasant!"

I felt weightless all of a sudden. Before I could react I was slammed into a nearby tree. But he hadn't even touched me.

"That'll teach you not to mess with beings above you and your existence. Oh and G-07 you can stay here."

He began walking up the steps laughing maniacally until he couldn't be heard anymore.

"Dammit!"
