Qin Man was so furious that she felt like going out for a smoke. Even if Yao Ranwas speaking on her behalf, she still couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable. Her fingernails dug into her palms.
This was just…lawless!
“My relationship with my husband is very good. There’s nothing for you to worry about.”
“Then that’s good.” Yao Yan smiled. “My sister and I are also doing very well. There’s nothing for you to worry about, Aunt.”
His words were like a slap to her face.
“Ranran, let’s go back.”
“Take care!” Yao Yan called out just as they were about to leave. “If you are ever looking for a divorce lawyer, then you can always call me up. I’ll be happy to help you find one.”
Qin Man gritted her teeth, leaving the premises.
Meanwhile, Yao Ran could only nod her head in apology to the other people, before being dragged out by her mother.
It was like they were running away.
The restaurant continued its operations as if nothing had happened. However, the busy atmosphere left the two men at ease. They stared at each other from afar until one man finally made the first move.
“Hello!” With a smile, Cheng Yan extended his hand.
Yao Yan shook his hand. “Hello, Uncle.”
Hearing the word “uncle”, Cheng Yan couldn’t help but take a sharp intake of breath. His expression stiffened. “Brother Yao,” he started. “You’re too polite. You’re already making me feel old.”
“There’s still a few years gap between us. It’s only normal for me to show my respects.”
His eye twitched. “My surname is Cheng,” he started. “Why don’t you call me Mr. Cheng instead?”
“Alright.” Yao Yan smiled. “I still have to thank you for helping my sister out today.”
There was a short pause before he added, “Maybe I can thank you more properly some other time.”
“It’s only natural for me to help. I should’ve helped.”
Before he could say anything more, Cheng Yan glanced in Yao Tang’s direction. However, before he could even address her, Yao Yanhad already taken a step forward, blocking her from his view.
“I…”
Yao Yan’s smile widened. “I’m sure you have something else to do here. Please, go ahead. We wouldn’t want to disturb you.”
He gestured the older man to leave first.
The meaning behind his words were far too obvious, but Cheng Yan couldn’t refuse him.
His smile dissipated as he took a step forward. However, just as he was about to say his goodbyes to Yao Tang, Yao Yan moved in the same direction, blocking his line of sight once again.
While he was watching a video on his phone, he saw Cheng Yan finally walking up to his car. His lips twitched into a frown when he didn’t see Yao Tangtrailing behind the man.
When the door had opened, he couldn’t help but ask. “Brother Cheng,” he asked cautiously. “Where’s Yao Tang? I thought she was coming with us.”
Cheng Yan frowned, shooting him a glare.
Qin Hao immediately quieted down.
Something must have happened. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have come back without Yao Tang by his side.
It was still a weird sight.
After Cheng Yan was finally seated, Qin Hao glanced up at him. “Should we go?”
“He’ll be getting out of jail in a couple of days.”
He furrowed his eyebrows. “Who?”
Cheng Yan shot him an indifferent glance. Only then did Qin Hao know what they were talking about. Zhang Shou.
From what Brother Cheng had done in the past, this was quite an unusual way to bring up the man’s name.
Why…
Why would he want him to get out?
Cheng Yan leaned against his back seat, closing his eyes. “When he comes out, try to investigate what he’s done in the past,” he said strictly. “Try to help him as much as you can.”
“And then what?” Qin Hao pursed his lips. “What should we do next?”
Qin Man’s face flashed in her mind and he smirked. “Then, we can help him set up a family.”
