Yan Wei had gone up here because of Yan Yu, and she had seen no sight of him. The thought made her even angrier. What was the use of her coming here now?
Normally, she wouldn’t be this bothered to have her plans derailed, but with Yao Tang and her other friends ganging up on her, she only felt even more uncomfortable. Even the teacher was siding against her!
They don’t deserve an ounce of respect!
The teacher couldn’t help but purse her lips at her words, unsure of what was wrong with the student.
“The bet is excessive in itself, I’m simply pointing out my perspective on it.” She shook her head. “I’m protecting the both of you here.”
“Well, I don’t need any more of your sympathies. Even if I lose, I have to follow my end of the bargain, don’t I? Just stay out of it!” Annoyed, she whirled around to look at Yao Tang.
“Well, where’s that ruthlessness now? Are you really going to hide behind that phone of yours?”
“I still have five minutes left.”
She shrugged.
The students from Class 20 were all calm during the entire ordeal. They have all met Yao Tang before, and they all knew that she wasn’t just saying things for giggles and laughs. She was always serious, and she had never let them down.
“I think you’re just trying to stall for time!”
Yan Wei scoffed.
“But, fine. I’ll give you another five minutes. After five minutes had passed, I want you on your knees, you got that?”
Yao Tang didn’t even bother to look at her phone. She knew that the man on the other end wouldn’t be late with the delivery. She just had to place her trust in him.
The five minutes soon passed.
But Yan Wei felt as if she had waited for an entire century.
“What’s wrong?” Yan Wei crossed her arms over her chest as a smug look painted across her face. “Has your review materials finally arrived? You promised a truckload of them, right?”
“A truckload? Of review materials?”
The teacher, who had been sitting at the side this entire time, staggered back in surprise. His arms became slack as he blinked, turning his gaze toward Yao Tang.
He didn’t expect that they’d be betting on the appearance of International Middle School review materials! Didn’t she know that these couldn’t be bought anywhere? It was extremely rare for a student to acquire one.
She certainly wouldn’t have a truckload stashed somewhere!
A trace of anxiety flashed across the teacher’s face. “This…”
She took a deep breath. “You shouldn’t be provoked enough to make deals like these. It’s impossible…whoever thought of making this deal wants to humiliate you. You shouldn’t have…This is just merciless.”
The teacher was very anxious, but she couldn’t go right ahead and bash the deal. She had to say everything in a tactful manner.
Yan Wei, however, already knew how to read between the lines. How could that teacher side against her again?
This was too outrageous!
However, Yan Wei didn’t even bother to snap back at the old woman. Instead, she glanced at Yao Tang. The corners of her mouth twitched. “Well? What do you have to say?”
Ha! A truckload!
Everyone in the class turned to look at her.
Just then, Yao Tang’s phone vibrated, and she turned to look at it. Within a few seconds, she nodded. “Let’s go,” she stated. “They’re already here.”
Yan Wei blinked.
The smile on her lips faded. “What do you mean?”
“Don’t you understand?”
Yao Tang furrowed her eyebrows.
“I just said that they’re here.”
“Ha! She’s urging Sister Tang to release the review materials, and now that they’re here, she’s acting dumb again.” One guffawed. “What a joke! Is this how students from International Middle Schoolact?”
“Looks can really be deceiving. They may appear glamorous, but in reality, they’re all rotten to the core.”
“I agree!”
“I just can’t believe that she’s both stupid and evil.”
“Maybe that would teach her of making a bet with Sister Tang.”
