Hearing the person’s voice, Yang Jiang pursed his lips. The voice didn’t sound familiar at all, so how did that person come to know him and enter his home?
Before he could think any further, two suited men barged into the study with guns in their hands. “What happened?” one of them demanded. “You aren’t injured, Sir?”
One of them guarded Yang Jiang, while the other immediately patrolled the room. They were silent as their eyes darted back and forth. Even then, they couldn’t find any traces of a break-in.
Who were they supposed to find?
The two bodyguards shared a look before glancing over at the head of the Yang Family. Doubt was clear in their eyes. “There are no signs of anyone, Sir.”
Yang Jiang’s eyes flashed with anger. “Seal off the entire area. No one is allowed to enter or leave the premises.”
The bodyguards nodded as they spoke into their earpieces.
He took this as an opportunity to glance back at the empty study once more. “Sir, you can come out now,” he called. “If you don’t, then you shouldn’t blame us for taking more violent measures.”
The two bodyguards glanced at each other with a frown. Despite this, the pair remained vigilant as they surveyed their surroundings.

However, no matter where they looked, they couldn’t see signs of another person in this room.
Has the Yang Family fallen into a state of madness?
The bodyguards didn’t say a word as they stood by his side.
Just then, a light laugh echoed from his surroundings. It was crisp and loud as if it was bouncing off the ceilings. Everyone froze as they looked around.
Even the bodyguards were surprised. How could one person slip past their patrol?
However, no matter where they looked, they still couldn’t find the source of the laughter.
Originally, they had circled the study a dozen times, and they found no one. They thought that the family head was just being anxious, that’s all.
What they didn’t expect was for someone to indeed be in his study.
They froze. Someone who could get past their defenses must be an expert—someone to who they were no match.
“Who is it?” One of the bodyguards walked toward the window and pulled the curtains apart. “Why aren’t you coming out?”
Even then, there was no one standing behind the curtains.
He immediately checked all the possible hiding spots, but he still came up with nothing.
If someone had broken into their villa, then that was normal. They would be able to find the suspect and escort him right out. However, this was different.
Even when the person had already revealed themselves, they still couldn’t find them!

Yang Jiang gritted his teeth.
Except for his confidant, no one else knew that he was heading to Jing City.
However, this person obviously knew that he was in City A. That was why he had come to visit. It was as if he was a spy working in the shadows, observing everything about him.
Could someone have betrayed him?
The three men looked around, but it was still to no avail.
One of the bodyguards glanced back at his boss. “Could that person have already left?” he asked. “Maybe that’s why we’re unable to find him.”
However, before he could speak, a voice came from the side. “I was just about to leave, you know,” a feminine voice echoed. “There’s really no need to send me off.”
Yang Jiang’s face fell.
Yao Tang, at the other side of the room, twirled her necklace and walked right out the door.
There was no reason for her to stay here any longer.
Yang Jiang and the two bodyguards seemed to be none the wiser as they continually search high and low. If Qin Jingwere here to see this, she would’ve mocked them endlessly.
Yao Tang managed a smile as she took a couple more photos. Without another word, she walked out of the room.
The moment the door opened, her scent was gone. The heaviness in their hearts disappeared. Yao Tang really didn’t leave a single trace.
Yang Jiang and his other bodyguards had been on high alert this entire time. He had tried bargaining with this mystery ghost, but no one responded.
The bodyguard beside him frowned.
“The person said that they’d leave,” he hesitated. “Maybe that means that they had already left, Sir.”
