President Tan gritted his teeth. It seemed that these people had already come prepared. He dug his fingernails into his palms.
Chauffeur Wang was the one who had betrayed the Cabinet Members.
He was the reason for today’s incident!
“What are you doing?”
Tan Jian slammed the door open, snarling, “We’re prestigious members of the Music Association! You’ll have to pay the price if you dare do anything to us!”
However, the men didn’t appear to be afraid.
Instead of quaking in their boots, the group of men took a step forward. Their eyes were flashing, and their jaws were clenched.
“Your little Music Association isn’t what it used to be! Even if you’re an Elder, we’ll still take our sweet time in beating you up!”
“Let’s see how powerful you are!”
“Still trying to be brave? We ain’t afraid of your bullshit!”
“Break their legs so they can’t escape, then we’ll deal with this woman!” The men stomped over, waving their electric batons in their hands. Their wolfish grins were enough to make anyone shiver.
The clattering sticks echoed across the fields.
Tan Jian gritted his teeth, trying to find a weapon he could use.
However, they were practically in an open field! There wasn’t anything he could find at all.
President Tan pursed his lips. He didn’t expect that such a thing would happen when Yao Tang entered the Inner Pavillion.
Could it be that after Elder Chen’s disappearance, the group decided to come for Yao Tang, as she was the inner sect’s disciple?
His heart raced in his chest.
“I’ll hold them back, dad! Go first!”
Tan Jian was first to walk out, ready to fight them to the death. In his hands was a fire extinguisher, the only thing he had gotten in the car.
“No!” President Tan pushed his son to the side. “I’ll cover you. The two of you go first.”
He glared at the men. “I’ll stay with you, let them go!”
“No, I’ll stay, just don’t hurt them! I have cash on me—isn’t this what you want!”
As the only young man in the group, he had the need to protect them.
The group of men snorted.
“Don’t even think about running away. Stay here, or I’ll make you suffer!”
Yao Tang was about to get out of the car when she heard President Tan whisper in her ear. “Tangtang, run! Run as far as you can!”
Before them, a tall man stepped out of the group.
He gestured to the men behind him.
Immediately, they all started splitting into different groups, surrounding the car. If they did try to run, they’d be prepared to catch them in one quick swoop.
“You’re going against the Music Association,” Tan Jian snapped. “If something were to happen to us, we wouldn’t let you off.”
The men burst into laughter.
“You think we’re afraid of a few country bumpkins from City A? Even if you die, we don’t even know if those oldies will avenge you! We’re not afraid of anything!”
From the looks of it, the other elders were busy looking for Elder Chen.
This meant that there must be more than one spy in the cabinet!
“So you’re sure that the elders won’t come,” Tan Jian snarled.
The men in black laughed.
Yao Tang took a step forward. “So, is Elder Chen’s disappearance related to you?”
As soon as she said that, the entire group fell silent. It’s as if she had managed to step on their tails. Their gazes turned cold.
“Little girl, you talk too much!”
He scowled. “Unfortunately, it’s useless even if you try to stall for more time. You won’t be able to contact the outside world anyway.”
