Chapter 17: 17 – Helping her eat

"Olivia," I scold, my voice firm as I place the fork down on the plate. "You need to eat more than just a few bites if you want to keep up your strength. You're working hard to support your family and care for your mother, you can't afford to neglect your own health."

She nods, looking abashed, and opens her mouth obediently as I pick up the fork again. I can see the faint shadows under her eyes and the strain in her expression, and my heart aches for her. She's young, barely out of college, and yet she's shouldering such a heavy burden. I want to help her, to ease her struggles in any way I can.

As I feed her, I can't help but feel a sense of protectiveness wash over me. I want to shield her from all the hardships and struggles of the world, to keep her safe and happy. She's so sweet and innocent, with her big doe eyes and soft features. I can't resist the urge to run my fingers through her hair, to trace the curve of her cheek and jawline. She's beautiful, and I can't help but feel drawn to her.

As she finishes the last bite, I give her thighs a reassuring squeeze. "That's better," I say with a smile. "You're going to be okay, Olivia. I'll make sure of it."

As Cody watches Olivia eat, he can't help but feel a sense of pride and protectiveness wash over him. He's always been drawn to strong, capable women, and Olivia is no exception.
