Chapter 1: The loop

The bell rang.

“Finally! Now I can go home and play this new game called Outrealm. Although first I should check on mom at the hospital. The doctor says she’s getting better!” Anas said leaving school on his bicycle.

 

It has been a full hour since he left school, although it usually takes him 30 minutes. Something isn’t right.

 

“Am I going through a loop?? This is the school building!”

Although there were no cars through this one-hour ride, Anas didn’t suspect a thing. His mind was busy thinking about the game. Well, not anymore.

 

“My mind, I’m feeling…… a little bit……. diz-” 

Before even completing his word, Anas fell to the ground.

 

“Huh! I thought I had lost consciousness. But wait, what’s that river in front of me!!”

Anas’s shock didn’t end there, as he looked at his reflection on the river, something else appeared to be wrong.

 

"I used to be an average dude, now I'm a man, a handsome muscular man. Dark hair, green eyes, I'm even taller!"

 

"Maybe I hit my head so hard that I lost consciousness and now I'm dreaming. Got to enjoy the most of this dream while I can!"

 

"I also feel something in my body, like magic. Oh yeah! I have seen this before in the anime I watched. And now, behold my mighty fire magic!!!"

Anas said, holding his hands up. Unfortunately for him, nothing happened. Only disappointment. 

 

"Hopefully nobody has seen that. Anyway, there is a dirt road over there, it may lead to a village or a city"

 

Anas followed the road. It was a long one. Near the end of it, Anas started hearing sounds of carriages, yelling merchants, and people talking.

 

"I was right! Okay, let's see what this dream hides."

 

Anas walked right into the city in amusement. Humans, semi-humans, goblins, basically everything he didn't think would exist in a world. But the amusement didn't reach a high peak, as he thought it was a dream.

 

A man pumped into Anas. Some may consider it normal in a crowded market, but not Anas.

 

"Hey! Watch where you're going you drunk dumbass!" Anas said.

"Huh. Yo wanna fight? Bring it on!"

Anas punched the man. To the surprise of Anas, the man was sent flying. Breaking into a fruit merchant shop. A soldier came running to the place.

 

"Shit. That escalated fast. I didn't expect myself to be that strong."

 

A soldier held Anas' hand. Demanding from Anas to come with him.

 

Not for long. The fruit shop owner testified that the drunk man started the fight.

 

After everything has settled down, the fruit shop owner went to Anas.

 

"Hey. I didn't mean to break your shop. I don't have money to pay. Sorry"

 

"Yeah. Don't worry about that, it doesn't cost much. I didn't come here to ask you about that. I'm more interested in who you are."

 

Okay shit. I don't think it's a good idea to tell him I'm from another world. Think Anas! Think!

 

"Um, I can't remember. I found myself in the forest."

 

"No memory you say? Amazing. I could use a strong man like you to work for me. My wife's pregnant and she's expected to be in labor this week. Good?"

 

"What do I get in return?"

Anas said.

I at least should appear to know about money. Whatever he says, I can't tell if it's worth it or not

 

"25 Mals. You won't find this rate anywhere else. Never!"

 

Okay, that sounds suspicious, but I have nothing else to do anyway.

 

Wait, it feels like I'm forgetting something.

 

Anas asked the shop owner to pinch him. It was then that it hit him that this wasn't a dream. This is reality.

 

Wait, what? What about my mom? I haven't seen her in a whole year! Not when I finally could be able to see her!
