However, when this teacher walked over and picked up the test paper, he couldn’t hide the surprise on his face as he repeatedly praised me. Every test paper was filled with answers, and the surface of the test paper was very neat and clean, making it pleasing to the eye. Based on the speed and my attitude answering the questions, this teacher couldn’t help but give me a thumbs up.
After the written exam, there was an interview. Although it was supposed to be an interview, it was actually just a few teachers who asked me some simple questions. Naturally, I answered them smoothly.
After hearing about my exam from the teacher, the principal was very happy. He felt that he couldn’t miss out on a genius girl no matter what. He let the teachers of each subject read the papers on the spot and found that I had actually gotten full marks in all the subjects!
Standing in front of him was a once-in-a-century genius with a perfect score!
The principal was so excited that his face was beaming. He invited my uncle in with the utmost respect and decided on the spot that he would enlist me, and that I could choose any class in the first grade.
Uncle Steve had already seen my extraordinary talent, so he didn’t act too surprised this time. The principal, who had been putting on airs half an hour earlier and saying, “Let’s see how the test goes”, was now trying to butter me up by starting me in school right away.
Steve raised an eyebrow and found Randall’s name on the roster for Class B. Steve’s small-mindedness returned, and he said, “Let Sheila go to Class A.”
After completing the admission procedures, Steve took me home.
When we got home, Mrs. Kelly was very happy when she heard that I was going to Randall’s school. She immediately brought Randall over to visit. She even asked Steve to let the two children go to school together tomorrow.
Steve watched Mrs. Kelly’s unconcealed happiness from the side. Naturally, he did not have a cheerful expression on his face. He looked at Mrs. Kelly’s face that was about to burst into laughter, and said coldly, “There’s no need. I’ll personally send Sheila to school tomorrow.”
When Randall saw that his mother’s good intentions had been foiled, he threw a tantrum, pulling on his mother to go home and said, “Hmph, who wants to go to school with her?”
“Oh child, didn’t you just tell me how you’re very happy to go to school with Sheila? What’s happened all of a sudden?” Mrs. Kelly asked, puzzled.
I saw Randall’s young but handsome face turn red immediately after hearing that. He shouted, “I’m not happy at all!” and ran away without looking back.
I couldn’t help but laugh as I watched Randall fly away. So this boy who was a self proclaimed bully could still feel embarrassed.
Just as I was thinking this, I heard Mrs. Kelly say, “Mr. Steve, this is after all Sheila’s first time going to school. There are many places she’s not familiar with, and Sheila doesn’t know anyone else in school besides Randall.”
Mrs. Kelly insisted, “Randall can bring Sheila with him tomorrow, right? That way, the two kids can take care of each other.”
Steve turned his head to look at me, standing at the side. Cute and petite as I was, I looked even thinner standing there all alone. Although Steve knew that I was talented, he was still worried about me in a completely new environment.
He thought for a moment, but in the end, his worry won over his jealousy. He compromised and said, “Then let us send them to school together tomorrow.”
Finally getting what she wanted, Mrs. Kelly was extremely happy and couldn’t help but clap her hands excitedly. “Okay, okay. No problem.”
She walked over and touched my soft little face. She said gently, “Little Sheila, I’ll see you tomorrow morning.”
Seeing me nod obediently, Mrs. Kelly turned to Steve and said, “Mr. Steve, I’ll be taking my leave now.”
“Wait a minute.” The moment Mrs. Kelly turned around, Steve stopped her and said sincerely, “Thank you.”
A bright smile instantly appeared on Mrs. Kelly’s face. She waved her hand and left..
