I hid in the woods when the sun was bright and kept going when the sun set down until daybreak by relying on the moonlight.
I spent my days as if I were a ruffian, my soles were covered with mud and crushed, and I had no money because I had escaped with nothing but my clothes on, and of course, I had no food.
I drank water directly from the river and ate grass because I couldn’t stand the hunger, but it made my stomach sick.
These were the days of h**l, but today was finally the end.
In front of me was the building of the Dark Guild.
At first glance, it looks like an ordinary house, but it has an underground passageway that leads to the guild’s headquarters.
“So you just ran all the way down here?”
“Hey, who do you think I am? The Count Hohenheim…”
“Ah? I heard that the Hohenheim family got destroyed. You’re not going to tell me that the information you came to me with is wrong, are you?”
“Damn it…”
The big man smoking a cigar and blowing at me on the sofa with two women in front of me is the master of the Dark Guild.
He wears a gold necklace around his neck, rings of various gems on each of his fingers, and the adventurer’s certificate plate glimpsed on his chest is gold, indicating his S rank.
Normally, I would have lost my temper, but I held back just in time, knowing that this was the only place I could rely on right now.
“Hey! Forget about it. Just hide me somewhere safe… Heh?”
Just as I told him to send me on my way to safety, my right arm was cut off and rolled on the floor by an unseen object.
“What is it about you, who are no longer an aristocrat? If you’re committing crimes, you’re no better than a commoner, and if you’re not good enough, you’re no better than trash living in a slum.”
“D-don’t joke around with me!”
I was so angry at the way he spoke to me that I couldn’t take it anymore, and just as I said so, he punched me in the face with all his might and blew me several meters away.
“You b***h is the one who’s playing the fool, you know? How dare you come here when your pursuers might be after you, you trash!”
“G-garbage—”
“Just die.”
“Ape…”
“S**t, making me all work up. Hurry up and get him out of my sight.”
The last thing I saw was the spinning world and then, for some reason, a direct hit to the ground with my face, which I could not protect with my hands.
