Faeries are odd small creatures that I came across as rather remarkable. They can be located in vast replenished woods around the lands of Bilra, Esira, Tarsar’Itius, Quari’Aus and Sur’At.

Their youthful appearance shows us slender figures with beautiful long gleaming wings like those of fireflies, and when we see those young winged maids, similar, to some extent, to the mortal ones, in their twenties. However, young readers, those creatures are above centuries old.

They will appear in pairs or more, sprouting out of flowers, more precisely from the Cunabula Prædictas. I was very intrigued in my studies, verifying that they would call each one born out of the same sprout as Twin Sisters, even though there are no remarkable similarities nor a genetic marker that would link them; besides the common Viridi Sanguine, in other words, The Green Blood.

I was, however, invited by their flock to observe live the birth of three fairies at the Faerieswood, Quaris’Aus. You can imagine, dear readers, my surprise when the exquisite flower blooms surrounded by what I thought were fireflies. With my own eyes, three creatures with the appearance of centuries came out of a gigantic Cunabula Prædictas. Those ladies were born with wrinkles, crocked back, unhealthy white hair, saggy bosom, and loose wings, very similar indeed to Swamp Hags.

I could hear, all around me, each spectator complimenting their Pure Beauty. Much later in life, I came to understand that faeries perceive the thematics of Beauty much differently from us mortals. As they grow old, faeries lose their natal beauty to be transformed into small creatures of light, which is the same as getting close to the end of existence.

In the words of an old friend, Pure Beauty awakes the Reaper from his rest.

This entry in the Glossary is dedicated to my young friends,

Jessy, also known as Jessamine from Feariewood of Quaris’Aus;

Jossy, also known as Joanna from Feariewood of Quaris’Aus;

Jassy; also known as Jasenia from Feariewood of Quaris’Aus;

Shall you all rest in peace, Douvencrune, Great Master Alchemist.
