"I'm going to die!" Jack groaned in despair slumping to the floor. It was one thing if a story didn't update when it normally did, but it was another when none of his go to stories were receiving any as well.
"Cheer up dude, now you can properly enjoy life without being stuck looking at nonsensical words thrown together on a screen!" His roommate who was washing dishes chimed in with a grin on his handsome face that pissed Jack off.
"I still feel that even if you think it's nonsense, the thought and effort put into creating them is deserving of respect. Can you write a thousand chapter long book for me then instead Chris?" Jack looked up at him from the floor with undisguised disdain.
"F*ck, you're a book simp." Chris dried his hands with a towel and threw it at Jack's face and rushed to the door and ran out before Jack could throw it back. He decided to wait until Chris returned so he could avenge this slight.
With a sigh, he walked to the door and locked it and then plopped down on the couch, looking at his phone for any updates that could possibly alleviate his boredom if only for a few minutes.
"What wouldn't I give to be able to cross worlds? I bet it would be so interesting." Jack hummed as he scrolled through the recently updated list and then shrugged.
"It 'is' interesting you know? Being able to live lives that most people can't even imagine." A charming voice spoke out of the blue, so Jack immediately got up and looked around wondering if Chris forgot to take whatever girl he brought back with him away.
"You don't have to look for me, I don't have a physical body that you can see. I just found it interesting you'd sit and complain about being bored but do nothing to change it."
"No, it's not about whether or not I'm willing, this world is boring as heck. What can I do aside from read novels to help me cope?" Jack sat down again and spoke calmly wondering if the world was secretly more interesting than he gave it credit for.
"Then would you leave this world behind if you could?" Jack rolled his eyes and then smiled, but he didn't immediately answer and instead thought about the question.
"Define that. If I say yes and end up in some place like Hell, I'd be extremely regretful. Of course, I would still go, I can't not have the opportunity to leave this crappy world and not take it, so yeah, I would go." Jack shrugged at the end.
"So you would go? Then what would you give? Everything has a price, and some things are more costly than others." Jack blinked and wondered if it was a demon he was speaking with, but then tossed that thought aside.
"Well, if it has any value, I'd even give up my soul. I pretty much live for excitement, so why not?" The voice didn't speak for a while, and Jack started to worry that he hadn't offered enough.
"No, the price wouldn't be your soul. It would be your state of existence. You are a being born in a Realm where nothing supernatural exists, if you want to break the barrier between Realms and enter a different one, you will lose the Realm Mark and be abandoned forever."
"So you're not saying I can't then?" Jack didn't understand all that was said, but he knew enough to know that crossing may still be an option and focused on that single-mindedly.

"If a being loses the Realm Mark, you will be seen as an invader in every realm, even your former one. Can you withstand being the enemy of the Myriad Realms?"
"I'll tell you what I can't withstand, boredom. In all that you said, do you know what I got from that? It sounds interesting. I'm down, I want to switch, come on!" Jack spoke excitedly with endless desire in his eyes.
"You're a bit abnormal, you know that? Since you are so fearless, then why should I deny you your wish? You'll exist in your Realm for one more minute while I isolate your existence and bring it away."
"So I have a minute left? Shit, one of the books updated!" Jack tried to speed read the chapter but only made it halfway when the world itself seemed to dissolve into swirling colors, some so vibrant and foreign his mind could barely process them.
"This is it, see ya world. I won't miss you at all!" Jack felt something deep within him change, as if something had vanished and the vague state he was in intensified infinitely.
"Welcome to the Eternal Sea of Chaos. Here, you time doesn't exist, and all conventional common sense no longer applies because it's severely distorted. With no Realm Consciousness presiding here, it is in constant chaos."
Jack wanted to reply, but he couldn't. His body didn't even seem to exist anymore so he floated in the Eternal Sea of Chaos while wondering what great adventures were in store for him.
"You want to know why a Realm Consiousness is so important? All Realms have basic laws, time, space, and even death. Because the Eternal Sea of Chaos has no laws, nothing applies, not even death."
"And no Realm Consiousness dares to reach out to this place either for fear of the Creatures of Chaos invading and consuming their Realms entirely." Jack wanted to ask if he was safe from the Creatures of Chaos since he was quite literally in the Eternal Sea of Chaos, but he received an answer.
"What are you asking? You are a Creature of Chaos now. Of course, you haven't been bound to the Chaotic System, but you will after you are satisfied with my answers."
"You seem impatient? Okay, then know that your first Realm will be random, after which you can choose. You may do as you please, but the more Chaos you bring, the better the rewards."
