Flesh cut against wood as Charlie slammed one of the creatures onto the log. One at a time, that’s what he needed to do. There were far too many to fight at once. Once the creature around his arm loosened its grip, he wrapped his hand around the face of the other that latched to his left arm. Pain shot through his legs as the four who had latched themselves to his legs bit their foul teeth into his exposed flesh.

Screams rolled up his throat and spilt from Charlie’s mouth. Hands wrapped around him as more of the creatures swarmed him. Staring upwards, he felt the blood drain from every limb as more teeth sunk into him.

“Fuck,” he muttered. There was no fear, no anger, only an annoyance that he hadn’t been able to do more. He wasn’t tough, and he was far from being strong. Muffled cries rose from around him as the thick, black liquid began to fill the water.

Snapping out of his daze, he dragged himself upwards. Bursting his head from the surface, he began to dart his gaze around. The creatures who had latched to him flayed and screamed as they tried to crawl through the water. One still latched to his leg, trying to bite into his knee cap. Gritting his teeth against the pain, he lifted his other leg and crushed his foot against the round head of the beast.

It didn’t move. Another, then another, on the last kick it finally relinquished its grip. Staring towards the shore, his eyes locked with Ourupadia’s. Tears began to swell in his eyes. Snarling, she leapt through the water and to his side. Wrapping him in her arms she pulled from the lake. Glancing from her arms, he watched as the warriors and huntresses leapt up the trees. Barking and screaming, they scared the creatures from the treetops.

Tumbling to the ground, the creatures snarled and leapt to counterattack the women. Continuing their battle cries, they cut and slashed through the creatures.

“Is he alright?” Cluupyte immediately retracted her statement as she saw the torn flesh dangling from his leg. A thumping came from the woods, approaching the group. Glancing back to two of her warriors, she moved her gaze down at Charlie.

“Guard him here, I want him to see this,” she said, keeping her eyes locked onto the tree line. Roars bellowed from the tress, casing the huntresses and warriors to stumble. In their delay, the remaining creatures began to cackle as they ran to the tree line opposite the group.

“Reform here!” Cluupyte screamed, but the group stood spellbound as they watched the lead create break through the tree line. Grabbing the trees with its meat paws, it pulled them easily aside, allowing itself forward.

Upon its fat head sat a crown of human skulls. Grinning its blood-stained teeth, it looked down to the warriors. 9 foot is as tall as it stood. By its side, about twenty smaller, muscular creatures appeared. The weaker creatures’ cackles filled the air as the lead stood before the group. Raising a hand into the air, it crashed down onto a cowering warrior, cutting her in half.

“GET BACK!” Cluupyte screamed, cracking her warriors out of their solemn states. Tails between their legs, they scampered away. Thinking they were in retreat, the lead creature bellowed, sending his minions forward.

Grunting with joy, one of the muscular creatures managed to grab the neck of a huntress. Licking its cracked lips, it raised her to its dagger-like teeth. Stone cut through flesh as an arrow pierced through the monster’s head, toppling it to the ground.

“Huntresses, form a firing line!” Ourupadia commanded as she loaded another arrow. The huntresses followed her command as they formed a line in front of Charlie.

“Defensive circle!” Cluupyte yelled, and her warriors quickly surrounded the archers, locking their spears in the direction of the beasts.

Scanning the opposite shoreline, she eyes the ranks of the creatures.

“One hundred goblins,” she muttered, staring at the fragile creatures. Glancing down to the water, she stared at the four floating bodies. Did Charlie do that? Looking back to him, she saw the petrifying fear swelling in his eyes.

“You did good, but just leave the rest to me,” she said to him with a smile.

Clutching her war spear, she looked to the about twenty Goblins her warriors had killed. Then there was one of the dead, muscular ones. Twenty years old at least, she knew that much about that goblin. They were blood aged goblins. Stronger, smarter, and faster, were their main traits. They were leaps and bound better than the average Goblin.

“Fifty blood aged,” she said, scanning the shoreline as more the creatures appeared, their crude weapons in hand. Then there was the last one. The fat bastard. He was at least three hundred years old, making him the most powerful one present as the Goblins tended to use their black magic to convert their fat into power, and he was the most obese Goblin she had seen in a long time.

“One Goblin lord,” she said, dropping down and stretching a leg out to the side. After stretching her left leg, she stood before dropping down again, this time she stretched her right leg.

“Provide covering fire. I’ll kill the fat one,” Looking to Ourupadia, she saw the blank expression covering her face. But in her eyes, she could see the unbridled fury.

“Your fighting skills are about the same as mine, so I will leave the blood aged to you,” Cluupyte said, walking casually into the water and towards the line of Goblins.

“I no lie. I never lie. I protect,” Ourupadia whispered to Charlie, placing a soft kiss on his cheek before standing and walking to the front line. Taking one last look at him, she smiled before stepping past her warriors.

Seeing her approach, the Goblin Lord took a few steps forward.

“Kill you, you give rest,” he said, pointing his claws to Cluupyte before then pointing back to the group.

“Ah, I forgot you Goblin Lords could talk!” Cluupyte said, twirling her spear in her hands so that the blade pointed backwards.

“I’ll have you roasting over a fire before the night ends,” she said with a grin as the Goblin Lord raised a hand into the air.

Snarling, he slammed the hand onto Cluupyte. Dust filled the sky, blocking the view of Cluupyte. Charlie’s eyes widened in time with the Goblin Lord’s as the dust cleared. A hole, about a meter deep, sat where Cluupyte had stood. A glimmer from the tree tips caught the attention of Charlie. Above the tree where the Goblin Lord stood, Cluupyte started down at him.

“AHAHAH!” the creature said in a mix of a cackle and screech. Swinging an arm, he clawed away the tree branches. Grabbing his arm as he did so, Cluupyte slid down the fat folds until her foot pressed against his eyes. Kicking with all her might, blood splurged from the creature's crushed left eye. Swinging around him as he tried to hit her off, she stabbed her spear through his second arm.

Drawing her knife, she leapt onto the creature's back. Grinning wide, she brought the white stone knife down into the lord’s head. The Goblin Lord stopped as if frozen in time. Grinning, she dove down the body of the lord. Flickers of light bounced off her blade as she cut. Thud! A hand smacked her onto the ground. Grabbing her around her waist, the Goblin Lord lifted her into the air, before slamming her down into the ground with his right hand.

Grabbing her leg, he lifted her and threw her into a group of trees. The arm which the spear was stuck in was clasped over his bleeding head. Luckily, she had only pierced the fat and not the skull. Roaring, he pointed a finger forward towards the group.

“I kill mutt! You skin em!” with his cruel words, the horde surged forward.

Leaping to her feet, Cluupyte licked a bit of blood from her lip.

“Sorry, it’s been a while since I have had to fight something as big as you,” Cluupyte leapt forward, grabbing one of the blood aged and dragging it down just enough that she was able to place her feet onto the top of its head.

Like a diver off a diving board, she sprung through the air and over the charging chattel which was the basic goblins. Leaping down onto all fours, she charged through the legs of another blood aged. With her tail, she tripped him, causing him to topple into several more of his kind. Reaching her hands out to her sides, she grabbed two more blood aged. Slamming their heads together, she set her sights on the Goblin Lord.

Snarling, he pointed out to her, just for an arrow to cut down the centre of his hand, splitting it in half. There was no need to look, as Cluupyte already knew it was Ourupadia who had fired the shot. Looking to a couple of feet away from where the Goblin Lord had hit her, she saw her knife. Ducking and jumping through, over and under the blood aged. She grabbed and yanked their spears from their hands, using her tail to smack their faces or crack their necks to force them to relinquish their weapons to her.

With these newfound weapons, she simply recycled them into the carving of her path towards her knife. Grabbing a short sword, she slammed it into the side of a blood aged, grabbing a spear the throwing it through several who stood in a clump as they tried to get her. Ripping an axe from the hands of a blood aged, she swooped around, using the axe head to grab the spearhead of an attacker.

Swopping it around, she forced the spearhead into a warrior behind her as she slammed the axe into the head of another Blood aged. Grinning, her eyes locked with those of the Goblin Lord. Snarling, he widened his eyes as he looked down to his feet. They had moved backwards on their own.

“One second, I’ll be right there,” Cluupyte said, grinning towards

An arrow cut through the skull of a blood aged. Wrapping her bowstring around the neck of another, Ourupadia slit the throat of another. Taking the arrow from the one she had shot, she loaded another arrow and fired into a third. Several more stumbled back. Screeching, two with short swords charged forward.

Dropping to the ground, she loaded an arrow as their swords collided over her head. Firing one arrow up, she used her tail to trip the second. Leaping up, she pulled her hand back. The arrow she had fired flung back into her hand. She had bound string to the back of the arrow so she could easily retrieve it in combat.

Staring down the remaining blood aged, Ourupadia sneered.

“Bastards! I just confessed my love and told my lover that I shall protect him! You fucks just made me lie!” She screamed, firing the arrow and killing another before charging into the group. Dropping down, she fired an arrow through the bottom of a blood aged mouth before turning on another.

Quietly, Charlie watched as the main body of huntresses and warriors slaughtered the goblins while Ourupadia and Cluupyte fought off the blood aged. The Cracking of twigs broke his mind away from watching them. Turning, his eyes widened. Fear shook his body as he stared down at one of the large creatures.

Carefully he looked to the side. An arrow sat in the dirt. His eyes met with that of the creatures. Both their gazes fell onto the arrow, before dragging back to each other. Diving to the side, Charlie’s hand aimed for the arrow. All air pushed from his lungs as a foot slammed against his chest. Gasping, Charlie fell to the ground.

Staring up, he saw an axe flying down to his head. Throwing himself to the side, he watched as the ground cracked under the strength of the attack. Getting to his feet, he stared down at the creature as it pulled its axe from the ground. Placing his strongest leg forward, he placed his other leg back. Gritting his teeth, he tried to push all pain from his mind as he stared down at the monster.

Grinning, the beast charged. Taking in a deep breath, Charlie lowered his head.

“Fuck, you just like my brother,” he muttered as the creature struck down towards his head. Lifting his hands, he grabbed the arm of the creature. Arching his back, he swivelled on his good leg.

Throwing the creature over his shoulder, he watched as the axe left its hand and the creature tumbled to the ground. Its eyes widened in shock as he realised such a small creature had just flipped it. Gritting his teeth, Charlie tossed himself onto the ground, grabbing the axe in the process.

Before the creature could stand, he plunged the axe into the back of the creature’s head. It fidgeted under his attack. Raising the axe, placing his good leg onto the creature, he pulled the crude axe from its head. Slamming it down again, he pierced it again. Still, it moved. Raising the axe, he attacked again. The black blood of the creature drenched across his chest and face.

Staring down at the creature, Charlie saw it no longer moved. Pulling himself off, he placed himself against a tree. What was this? It wasn’t human, but it looked close to it. Staring down at his hands, Charlie placed them against the grass. He had just killed someone with his bare hands.

“Oh fuck,” Charlie muttered, looking down to the blood that stained his legs and feet.

“Oh fuck,” he muttered again, as he saw the blood that stained the grass. Lolling his head to the side, he stared at the huntresses and the warriors. They screamed with joy as they chased down the last of the Goblins.

Cluupyte sat upon the bloated body of the leader, the monster's scalp held high above her head. Ourupadia sat upon a pile of blood aged, mangled bodies. Noticing his gaze, Ourupadia waved over to him. Blood drenched her, turning her body an oily black.
