It wasn’t a problem that the human woman had gotten into the alleyway; neither Tom nor his sergeants had placed any guards in front of it. Though, it wasn’t an alley that one could just stumble into. It is quite a secluded area near Maz square, a good distance away from where Barden and most of the Captain’s men are.

How did this woman just stumble out here? Tom wonders to himself.

Though, he doesn’t feel too suspicious, perhaps because he views the intruder as a young woman, while he is being accompanied by four powerful guards. All these men are tasked to protect him, yet who is supposed to be protecting her?

But, to make sure there are no more interruptions, Tom needs at least one of his sergeants to guard the alleyway entrance from now on.

Tom’s three sergeants alone are fully geared and competent fighters. Even Yin has magic armor capable of killing humans as well as powerful beasts (though one would not be able beasts capable of such power within the walls of Tritol). One of the sergeants decides to ask the woman what she is doing here.

Her face still seems confused and slightly worried.

“Young lady. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but we need this alleyway for—“

“Wait a bit, I heard someone here was being called ‘Sir’. Which of you was that?” The woman asks. The confusion on her face remains, however her sudden question did not sit right with the man she had just cut off. The older-than-middle-aged man frowned.

“Young lady, do not interrupt me when I speak. That is quite rude. Did your parents not teach you manners growing up? What was with your question right now anyways? Do you not understand that to you, each of us is your ‘sir’?”

The sergeant replies to the woman, peeved by her nonchalant attitude towards law enforcement. There is a code of conduct one must have when conversing with people who have authority. Normally, one should refer to their better as ‘sir’, one should give full deference especially as a civilian compared to an officer of the law.

To behave so boorishly, to disrespect someone who has the authority that the sergeant has, he wonders if he should arrest the girl right now. Though she does look like an adult, he’s sure that the lackwit parents who failed to teach their daughter her manners should themselves be taught a lesson in responsibility.

The insolence of this little girl, Tom also thinks to himself.

Tom has certainly raised his daughters to speak well and courteously to his friends from the precinct. Sometimes his young ones don’t quite understand their place in his house while growing up, so he had to show them by physically punishing their mother, his wife.

The sooner he showed them how to behave as women, as well as what would happen should they fail to uphold their half of the social contract, the better off his future business and social relationships would be. He may be raising them to become nobility, but they cannot be disrespectful to their father or their husbands in the future.

This young woman has certainly not learned something as simple as manners from her own parents. How is God going to greet her in the afterlife if she continues to behave so obtusely?

He can only sigh in annoyance. Even among human commoners, there are those with inborn class and those without. Many inferior stock are born to be commoners and can never ever rise to a noble status no matter what good circumstance they find themselves in. God has a discerning eye.

The defective traits of these inferiors would be passed through their bloodlines forever. To stain the divine blessing of the Hero with such genetic runoff would only seek to humiliate Osva.

Shaula looks at the body language and faces of all the people here in this alleyway. Two of them have their arms crossed and aren't looking in her direction. There is a man in the back who is looking at her with disdain while another stands to his side as if they’re a servant.

I guess people as conceited as this exist in any world, huh… Well, fine, let's just start and see how they act.

She sighs while rubbing her neck with her right hand. Her expression turns from its sham confusion to a disinterested expression, her actual emotion in this situation. She moves her right hand behind her back and walks over to the man obsessed with manners, a thin smile on her face.

“What are—“

Before the man, right on the cusp of retirement, can finish his sentence, Shaula raises her right hand into the air. The edge of her hand is now glowing in a bright white light which quickly becomes bright blue.

Three of the guards shield their eyes with their gauntlets against the brightness. The man in front of her winces in shock and staggers backwards.

Shaula swings her right arm in a slash from left to right. She watches carefully as the man’s helmet and the head that it houses is separated from his armored body. The head and helmet flies into the air. The strong looking helmet has been cut through by her zealous hand, already melted and glowing brightly at the point where her hand sliced through.

The stump of the man's neck, as well as the man's detached head, do not bleed, as it is already cauterized by Shaula's blazing hand.

Time slows down for her. She sees two other men try to unsheathe their swords. They were surprised and nearly blinded by her brilliantly shining hand so they move frantically now, though with uncertainty apparent on their faces.

The other two seem to be caught off guard and haven’t made a move yet. She decides to start with the man whose armor has already started to glow slightly. He’s a skilled combatant, at least that’s what Shaula believes from his reaction speed alone.

Or maybe he just knew that I was a threat from the minute I walked into the alleyway? Better get rid of the smarter ones first, no need to drag this out.

The man’s eyes are squinting behind his helmet, but he doesn't seem to have been blinded.

The man, Sergeant Hither, tries to leap back while pulling his sword from its sheath on his belt with his right hand, one resembling a scimitar most closely. However, Shaula interrupts his life, by reaching him and slicing down diagonally from right to left.

Her hand cuts through Hither’s neck, continuing through his right collar bone, his right pec and cuts off the man’s right arm that was in the middle drawing his weapon.

Oh, shit… that’s a bit messy, isn’t it…

The second man’s head and right arm fall to the ground. The sword falls as well, clattering in a way that surprises the other two guards aiming to kill her. However, her hand wasn't able to fully cauterize the wound she made just now. As the pieces of Hither's body fall to the ground, some blood splatters across the alleyway ground.

People are gonna smell the burned skin and blood and come over here before too long. Better be quick about this.
