Chapter 305: If the Rooster pecks you, peck back where it hurts

“I am so f*cked right now.....” Fang Lin cursed inwardly as he bemoaned his fate.

Out of all the girls that he could meet, the one that he successfully flirted with was actually the daughter of Shax!

And that Shax was the number one person that Fang Lin wanted to not meet on this layer!

Because of his skills, Fang Lin’s panic was not shown on his face. The only thing that Shamalia could see was that Fang Lin seems to be thinking of something intriguing.

Fang Lin tilted his head as he asked Shamalia,

“Shamalia, sorry if your beautiful presence will be offended, but the Great Djinns can have children? This is the first time I heard of it.”

Shamalia nodded, seemingly not offended by Fang Lin’s words.

“Well.... this matter was kept secret to anyone in the Common Layer. Only those at the Median Layer will have the right to know and interact us. And that includes you now.”

Shamalia then patiently explained to Fang Lin about the family system of the Great Djinns.

According to her, each of the Great Djinns had their own sets of families. And when she said set, Shamalia meant that each Djinns has multiple families under them.

With that type of relationship behavior, all the Djinns had multiple direct and indirect descendants here in the Median Layer.

Take Shax for example. He married 431 females already. Right now, only 147 of them were alive and only 7 were around the ripe, juicy age range of 25-35.

Shax had children with them all, making his family extremely big

And out of all his children, Shax was currently doting the most on Shamalia.

“Father loves me and always give me food! He’s the best!” Shamalia smiled happily as she fidgeted on the spot once more.

Shamalia also said that the Djinns who left like Orias had their own families here too. But with the betrayal of Orias and his companions, these families were all sieged by countless enemies.

Now, there was only one family left that represented the oustider’s bloodline. With the persecution by everyone else, this family also dwindled in number.

“How about Genie? Did she have a family too?” That was the words that Fang Lin did not say out of pity for Genie.

Fang Lin shook his head as he continued listening to what Shamalia said.

As for how the Djinns impregnated their mates, nobody had the idea how they do it. That was a secret that no Djinn allowed others to be discover.

Fang Lin took a deep breath after he heard everything that Shamalia said. He smiled at her, even though he was shouting angrily inside him.

“So Shamalia was currently the most doted child by Shax. That means he will surely monitor and observe me if I go to that family party..... I think I should not go....” That was what Fang Lin was thinking to be the best solution.

But sometimes the best solution, even if it’s also the ideal one, had no way to work if fate says so.

“Ok, I informed my father about you. He was excited to meet you later!” Shamalia said as she hid a card on her bag.

“Is that card a communication device you have to connect with your father?” Lin Fang asked hesitantly. “It seems to be convenient!”

“Well....” Shamalia pouted as she said,

“Father was always busy with many things. Because of that its hard to talk to him anytime. This communication device was something he gave me last year. He said that if I need to talk to him, I will just use this device to notify him about somethings”

“Ahhh!!!!!!” Fang Lin shouted to mentally once more, realizing the implications of what Shamalia did.

Because Shamalia already informed Shax about his arrival, Fang Lin had no choice but to go there.

If he did not go, Shax might suspect something was wrong.

For Fang Lin, that will be incredibly bad...

“.......”

Fang Lin resisted the urge to escape as he and Shamalia rode a finely crafted carriage.

The structure of the carriage was so efficient that this carriage did not even bump or nudge while crossing the road.

Only awkward silence reigned between the two as they continued their journey.

“We are going to have much fun later Lin Fang!” Shamalia smiled as she peered outside the window. “We will arrive there in a matter of minutes!

“Hehehe that’s nice...” Fang Lin tried to sound happy as he shivered uncontrollably.

It was at that moment that Fang Lin suddenly narrowed his eyes.

The reason for that was the exploits of Illusion Fang Lin in the God Continent.

The Illusion Fang Lin met someone who can manipulate memories there, in the name of Sir Froilan.

That Sir Froilan said that he saw something wrong in Illusion Fang Lin’s mind which led to a bargain between them.

Now, Fang Lin was stuck on two difficult situations, and he had to think quick if he wanted to get out of this unscathed.

First, he was sure that if that memory seal on his mind was broken, Fang Lin’s psyche might be affected. That means he could not have it broken now, since he was still busy.

Second, as long as he did not slip anything out, Shax would not be able to discover that the new friend that Shamalia made was the one that he tried to kill earlier.

“We’re here now.” Shamalia’s voice interrupted Fang Lin’s thoughts as the carriage screeched into a halt.

Fang Lin sighed, realizing that from this part of the event, he had to act normal.

“Shall we go then?” Fang Lin said as he slightly bowed in front of Shamaila, with his right arm outstretched towards her.

“With pleasure.” Shamaila giggled as she hooked her left elbow with Fang Lin’s right elbow.

They left the carriage as they headed towards the party.

But before they could go farther, they heard a voice rushing towards them.

“Shamaila my dear daughter! How could you do this? You brought a boy in our party? You made daddy sad!”

Lo and behold. Shax, the one who watched the Illusion Fang Yu getting crushed earlier was now running towards them.

His face was concentrated at his daughter, as he showed his aggrievance. It was as if he was hurt when Shamaila brought a boy back with her.

“Huhuhuhu, my daughter is now growing up..... will the day where she hugs me happily be gone too?” Shax then spread out his arms as he said,

“Come hug Daddy as a greeting!”

“No!” Shamaila said as she coldly turned down Shax’s request. “I am 18 now daddy. I am too old for that stuff now.”

“Kehok!” Shax clutched his heart, as if Shamaila’s words were a death sentence to him.

He stared at the ground blankly as he muttered,

“See this Leila, your daughter is all mature now. It will be only a matter of time before she leaves her Daddy. I am going to be sad.....”

“Ugh. So pathetic.” Fang Lin thought to himself as he stared at the morose Shax.

“I have been scared of meeting you earlier, and you were actually like this! Seems like I have been scared for nothing!”

Shax’s mutterings then increased in frequency.

“It was the boy, it was the boy...”

Shax then gave the disguised Fang Lin a cunning look as he said,

“So you are the ‘boi’ that my lovely daughter brought here. Hmmmm.... You seem just okay to me.”

“He’s not just okay! He’s more gentlemanly than you!” Shamaila interjected quickly. “He also said how beautiful I was....”

“Like father, like daughter.” Fang Lin thought as he tried to not roll his eyes in exasperation.

Then to the surprise of everyone, Shax suddenly grabbed Fang Lin tightly. Fang Lin knew that he can fight back, but he did not dare to.

“Daddy! What are you doing!” Shamaila shrieked as she shook Shax’s arms.

“Ah, Daddy just had to ask some security questions on your ‘boi’. I swear I will not do anything to harm him.” Shax said as he stroked Shamaila’s head.

“Muuu.... Make it fast! Like, five minutes fast!”

“Anything for you, my dear daughter.” Fang Lin then felt his surroundings blurring as he was brought by Shax to a different place.

Right now, Fang Lin was in a plain-looking room. In front of him sat Shax, who was glowering at him with hostility.

It was quite obvious that Shax was not happy with Fang Lin’s arrival.

“Do you know what party is happening later? It’s my daughter’s coming of age ceremony! All is well in this party already. Then you came here as my daughter’s escort! Do you know how sad I am right now? I am so sad that I just want to cry!”

“.......”

“Oh come on, speak up!” Shax roared in anger, definitely not happy with Fang Lin’s silence.

Shax then sighed as he said something that made Fang Lin lose his composure.

“Stop pretending now ok? I know you are related to that person that I met earlier.”

Shax then slowly clenched his right fist as he stared down at Fang Lin blankly.

“You can say that person is gone now. He... Gave in under pressure.”

“So.....” Shax approached Fang Lin until his head was just above his.

“Tell me, are you his ally or his family?”

“Does it even matter? Your daughter likes me and brought me here as her escort. That’s the fact that I am sure of.” Fang Lin replied smugly.

“You!!!!!”
