“So this is the space rift huh.” Genie muttered as she stared at the phenomena in front of her. “Now that I see it closely, it really looks ugly.”
Right now, Genie is at the sea between the Alliance and the Evil Axis Continent.
She is currently in front of the space rift that was shown to her by her old man.
White mist was still pouring out of the rift slowly, filling its surroundings with the white stuff.
Genie’s eyes started to turn grave as she looked at the spreading white mist with wariness.
“I have to do something against this rift.”
Genie then waved her hands as large amounts of death energy funneled towards her.
Genie is the current Yama Successor, and her power is obviously befitting of her status.
In fact, except for the Yama himself, it will be hard to find anyone that can defeat Genie!
Of course there are some practitioners in the Underworld that can fight equally against Genie, but there are none that can actually beat her.
“Hmph!” All the death energy that Genie gathered coalesced to form a 5-pronged spear which she grabbed with her right hand.
The power contained inside this weapon as frightening, as the space around it is being destroyed by just its mere presence.
“Begone!” Genie began to throw the spear, but before she could do so, she suddenly heard a voice coming from within the rift.
“So, the Yama Successor is actually here... to stop us...” The voice seemed to be made up of 1,000,000 different voices, which were all speaking as one.
This resulted in a harrowing sound that grated against Genie’s ears.
“Hmph, I do not care for your frivolous talk, whoever you are!” Genie declared as she raised her spear.
But before she could plunge it down, the voice inside the rift started to speak as it said,
“From what I heard, you are about to be replaced by the new Yama Successor. Do you now have any plans on where to reincarnate?”
“How do you know that?” Genie’s expression suddenly turned livid as her grip on her spear tightened.
“Only the Yama and the Yama Successors know about that!”
“Oh, we have our sources...” The harrowing voice chuckled, sounding obviously pleased with Genie’s discomfort.
“Tsk!”
************
There is a mystery that covers every Yama Successor that retires from their position.
The mystery is just simple:
Where does the retired Yama Successors go once they are replaced?
Do they go hide somewhere? Or do they join the Yama on another special place?
Nobody knows the answer to this mystery, except for the Yama Successors and Yama himself.
And the answer to that mystery was also simple:
Every Yama Successor that retires will be reincarnated.
This may sound counter-intuitive, since the Yama created the Underworld Realm to prevent the cycle or reincarnation.
Even the Yama Successors who were informed of this tried to question the Yama himself, as this reincarnation was against the Yama’s principles.
But the Yama refused to budge, making sure that any Yama Successor will be reincarnated once they retire.
A refusal cannot be accepted, as the Yama himself will force the retired Yama Successor to reincarnate even if he/she is unwilling.
Since the nature of reincarnation was an extremely sensitive matter, only the Yama and the Yama Successors knew about this.
And now that Genie is about to retire, she is also about to get reincarnated too.
“Hehehe, are you shocked that I know something about that?” The voice jeered as it saw Genie biting her lips in nervousness.
Now that it saw that Genie was being affected by its words, the voice started to say more words in order to confound Genie more.
“Yama Successor, have you even wondered why the Yama forces every retired Yama Successors to reincarnate? Don’t you think that he is hiding something... sinister from you?
“!!!!”
These words uttered by the voice shook Genie, as she had been harboring these thoughts ever since the Yama told her that she will have to reincarnate once she retires.
“What if your Yama is planning something big with all the reincarnated Yama Successors?” The voice said as it began to sound soothing.
“Are you really fine being used like that?”
“Shut up!” Genie’s eyes suddenly opened as it seemed to look like it was in flames. She let out a low growl as she said,
“It is up to me to decide on things like that!” A flash of light went past by, and the space rift began to disintegrate.
“Hmph, you are just all talk. You can’t even withstand one strike from me...” Genie muttered as she looked at the dissipating space rift. “Serves you right!”
But while Genie looked confident and victorious from the outside, she was shaken inwardly as she digested everything that the voice told her.
“That voice just told me some truth, and then it twisted them to some lies just to mislead me! Yep, that’s what it did!” Genie muttered as she tried to convince herself. “There is no way that my master is planning something sinister against me, right?”
But before Genie could move away from her spot, she suddenly saw the space rift that she destroyed earlier reappearing once more in front of her.
And this time, the space rift was twice its former size, with twice the amount of white mist pouring out of it.
And before Genie could compose herself, she heard the voice within the space rift, and this time, it was now composed of 2,000,000 voices talking together.
“Why don’t we talk about more things? I am bored talking to myself, you know!”
“!!!!!!!!!!”

“Yawn...” Fang Lin let out a yawn as he left the military barracks.
He looked at the sky, and he saw that the sun had already risen, illuminating Fang Lin’s surrounding with its golden rays.
Fang Lin cricked his neck as he remembered all the wild events that happened last night, especially the intense argument between Bai Huangdi and Veronica.
“Hehehe, those two are really easy to fool!” Fang Lin cackled inwardly as he saw a black object rushing towards him.
This object then melded with Fang Lin’s shadow, making Fang Lin’s smile go wider.
He tried patting the shadow, which he failed miserably as he said,
“Good job Yao’er.”
“Hmph, just make sure that you will treat me with that pizzorella that you are talking about!” Yao’er’s voice sounded out inside Fang Lin’s mind. “You better give me lots of them!”
“Hai hai.” Fang Lin complacently said as he started walking to his destination. “You can rest now.”
“Hmph!”
Silence then ensued as Yao’er began to sleep.
Fang Lin looked at his shadow as he remembered one important fact about Yao’er.
Since Yao’er’s attribute was shadow and darkness, she will be affected by anything related to light.
And this effect will grow stronger everytime Yao’er gets stronger.
Right now, Yao’er can still tolerate being under the sun’s rays. But once she becomes around the Sixth Stage, sunlight will be extremely intolerable for her.
She will have no choice at that time but to stay at Fang Lin’s shadow.
“Well, I will find a way to resolve Yao’er’s problem.” Fang Lin muttered to himself as he decided to help Yao’er on her dilemma.
After all, Fang Lin is Yao’er’s master, so it is Fang Lin’s responsibility to let Yao’er enjoy basking in the sun.
But that matter has to be put aside for now, since Fang Lin has to do some more important things.
“Hah! Hah! Hah!”
Fang Lin heard these shouting sounds from afar, which made him quicken his pace.
Once he arrived at his location, what he saw was just what expected.
He saw hundreds of thousands of armored men letting out shouts as they organized their positions.
All of them look battle-hardened, which filled the area with an intense killing intent.
Fang Lin nodded in appreciation as he thought to himself,
“So the Great General really is a great general... just looking at these soldiers makes me praise their quality.”
“Hmph, that Bai Huangdi is rushing things.” Fang Lin suddenly heard a melodious voice behind him, and when he looked back, he saw that it was Veronica talking to him.
Veronica’s mask was back on her face, making it impossible to see her facial expression.
But the way her voice sounded made it obvious that she’s extremely irritated right now.
“That guy really just wants to rush in!” Veronica muttered angrily as she crushed the leaves below her with her right foot. “He even used the ambush by the shadow demon last night to encourage the attack today!”
“Do not worry Veronica.” Fang Lin said as he gave Veronica a suave look. “I know that you are not related to that attack of that shadow demon. Bai Huangdi surely is the one who made that incident last night.”
“Yes, you are right!” Veronica shouted as she pumped her fists. “General Draco, you are the only one who believed in me! You really are a blessing to me!”
“I’d rather say that I am blessed to be with you.” Fang Lin said as he tried hard to not laugh. “After all, there is no one in this planet that can compare to you... Veronica.”
“!!!!!!!!”
Veronica then hugged Fang Lin tightly, making sure to not let him go.
“Hehehe, now there is no way that Bai Huangdi and Veronica will trust each other....” Fang Lin thought inwardly as he enjoyed Veronica’s fragrant body sticking on him. “Just a little more push... and these two will be dancing in my palms perfectly!”
While Veronica was enjoying Fang Lin’s body heat and Illusion Fang Yu was still cooped up in her room, Bai Huangdi was in front of the assembling soldiers, barking strict orders to them.
“Halt!” Bai Huangdi shouted as he saw that all soldiers are in their places now.
Bai Huangdi’s gaze then scanned all the soldiers in front of him, as if he was looking for something in them.
He then closed his eyes as the soldiers beneath him were waiting for his words with bated breath.
“Everyone.” Bai Huangdi’s voice sounded solemn as he stared at the assembled soldiers. “There have been two attacks on our compound last night. All of you were lucky that nobody died. But are you sure that nobody will die the next time they attack?”
“We don’t know, Hero!”
“Not only that, but the civilians themselves will also be in danger!” Bai Huangdi’s voice began to rise as the soldiers felt heat inside their bodies. “Are you sure that they will be safe?”
“We don’t know, Hero!”
“Then what do you want to do to keep them safe?” This time, the heat inside the soldiers were too much, that it started to rile up their courage.
“We will fight them, Hero!”
“Then what are we waiting for?” Bai Huangdi raised his hands as he said,
“Let the war begin!”
“Ooohh!!!” Every soldier let out blood-curdling screams as they rushed towards the bridge.
From the way they moved, it was quite obvious that they will not back down.
Fang Lin, who was watching them leave, suddenly tilted his head as he muttered,
“What happened to the plan of using spies to destabilize the Ebony River Kingdom? They really just scrapped that?”
“Well, its Bai Huangdi that you are talking about here.” Illusion Fang Yu replied, who suddenly appeared behind Veronica. “Even if he said that he had plans, deep in his heart, he is still a hot-blooded male whose only desire are bloody wars.”
“I might always disagree with you, but this time I am in line with what you just said.” Veronica replied listlessly.
“All men are idiots... but even if General Draco is like that, I will still accept him wholeheartedly.”
“......”
