“What the hell are you talking about Fang Lin!” Tang Ya could not help but to shout. “You are so shameless! You shall face my wrath after we fight here!”
If Tang Ya was greatly surprised, Fen Chen was affected too. Once he heard Fang Lin’s heartfelt ‘confession’, the defensive formation of his flying swords began to falter.
“There!” Fang Lin then rushed towards Fen Chen, who noticed Fang Lin’s attack a second later.
Three of the flying swords rushed towards Fang Lin, with their blades brimming with qi. Upon seeing this, Fang Lin let out some qi out of his fingers towards the flying swords.
These qi projectiles however, completely missed the sword. But then, all the three swords fell into the ground, seemingly unresponsive.
The reason this happened was because of the nature of how Fen Chen manipulates his flying swords. Normally, each flying sword can be operated by putting it in contact with your body, usually the feet and supplying your qi in it. The flying sword can then be moved and manipulated once its supplied with qi. This however, requires someone to be always in direct contact with the sword to control it.
But in Fen Chen’s case, he created qi threads for each of his fingers. He then attached each thread to the hilt of each sword. This allowed Fen Chen to manipulate his flying swords in a greater range. With ten fingers, he can manipulate at the maximum of 10 flying swords. This kind of manipulation requires high talent in qi manipulation, which Fen Chen obviously has.
Fang Lin realized that Fen Chen controls his flying swords this way because of Wang Hao. Once Fang Lin broke through the First Stage, Wang Hao thought him some qi manipulation techniques and how to counteract them. One of these techniques is the qi thread.
From what Wang Hao said, the use of qi threads allows for farther and more flexible manipulation of small objects. Another one of its advantages is that its too small to be seen by the naked eye. But once you supplied your eye with qi or mana, you can see the qi threads as small, threadlike objects. Fang Lin however, was still not at the level of producing qi thread perfectly.
Wang Hao then said that the qi threads have one weakness: The qi threads are vulnerable to obstruction by qi-related attacks. So against Fen Chen, Fang Lin used his qi-augmented eyes to determine the location of the qi threads. He then used three qi projectiles to destroy the threads. Once the qi threads were cut, Fen Chen lost control of his 3 flying swords. This reduced his defensive capability.
Upon seeing this, Fen Chen’s teammates, one male and female, tried to assist him, but they were held back by Tang Ya and Venomshade.
The male one faced Venomshade, who at this point was letting out fumes come out of his body. The man looked towards Venomshade nervously, then let out a shout. His body exploded with power as he let out a punch towards Venomshade. But Venomshade reached deep into his robes and pulled out a vial. He then proceeded to infuse the vial with his poison mana. The vial then turned purple as Venomshade threw the vial towards the man’s incoming fist.
Countless thorny vines sprung out of the vial once it was broken by the man’s punch. The thorns then proceeded to cover the man’s body to immobilize him. The man tried to move, but he realized that the thorn themselves were laced to neurotoxin that made him paralyzed. What’s worse is that when he tried to operate his qi, it was just absorbed by the vine that made it grow bigger!
Remember the TaiHen Living Poison? Some parts of the TaiHen Living Poison were collected by Wang Hao after the events at the Feng Clan. “Hahaha! With this, I can finally create the ultimate tentacle p*rn!” Wang Hao then showed this living poison to Venomshade, hoping that Venomshade can make a really er**ic plant out of it. But Wang Hao’s expectations were ignored when Venomshade just created another version of the living poison.
“You can stop struggling now.” Venomshade said with a hint of sneer on his voice. “This is a living poison that I personally concocted. If you try to struggle, you might become its food...”
The man, upon hearing this, stopped his movements and just laid down on the ground sulkily.
The match between Tang Ya and and the girl however, started in a different way.
“Hmmph, after all these years, Fen Xia, you are still using that tiny sword to fight!”
“How about you Tang Ya? You are a female, yet you are using a crude broadsword for fighting!”
“Hahaha at least I do not need to do those silly sword dances with that brittle sword! Those dances look so pathetic!”
“Pathetic? Look at yourself! Every time you use that broadsword, I always imagine you saying ‘H*lk smash! H*lk smash’!”
“Huh?”
“Huh?”
“I can’t take this anymore!” Tang Ya then rushed towards Fen Xia with her broadsword raised the heavens.
“H*lk Smash! Wait, that’s not the name! Its ‘Heavensmasher’!”
Fen Xia just giggled after she heard Xiao Ya fumbling in her words. She then let out her thin, rapier like sword. She held it like a graceful dancer, and she started to sway with every attack of Tang Ya. Her body moved as if she was in a trance. Every time an attack was about to hit her, she manages to dodge at the last second. During these dodges, her sword that had been sharpened with qi, managed to slash perfectly on Tang Ya’s body.
Every slash of Tang Ya yields no hits and she gets slashed in return. After 100 exchanges, Tang Ya’s arms had been crisscrossed with multiple slash marks, with blood slowly seeping out of it. As of now, Fen Xia is on the zone. As long as Tang Ya attacks with her sword, she can dodge it quite easily.
That is, if Tang Ya will only attack with a sword.
While Fen Xia was busy dancing, a foot appeared out of nowhere and hit her squarely in the chest. Fen Xia spurted blood out of her mouth as intense pain racked her body. She laid down on the ground, trying to catch her breath. She then saw Tang Ya lowering her right foot while smiling cheekily towards her.
“Why did you kick me earlier! That was a sword duel!” Of course, Fen Xia could only say these grievances through her eyes.
Well, it was Wang Hao who thought Tang Ya about being shameless in a match.
“If you cannot beat your opponent in terms of skill, beat that person through the element of surprise!” Wang Hao said this proudly to Tang Ya the day before the group battles. Tang Ya, with her feelings of love towards Wang Hao, devoted her entire attention on Wang Hao’s lecture. After that lecture, Tang Ya learned how to be ‘resourceful’ and ‘honorable’ on every battle. Wang Hao also imparted an important mantra to her.
You are reading story The Chronicles of the Immortal God at novel35.com
If you can’t beat them, join them
If you can’t join them, shame them
If you can’t shame them, rob them
If you can’t rob them, frame them
If you can’t frame them, cuckold them
If you can’t cuckold them, please stop here
You are now the pinnacle of evil
Wang Hao said that this was a fitting mantra for all the evil practitioners. “As long as you did everything here, but not cuckolding, please no cuckolding, you can be considered a ‘resourceful’ fighter.”
Tang Ya then applied this principle against Fen Xia. She knew that Fen Xia expects only a sword fight from Tang Ya. Too bad Tang Ya is not that rigid anymore.
“Did I say we are going to have sword duel? Open your eyes, little dancer! I kicked you because this is a battle, not a sword duel! Blame yourself upon not seeing that attack!”
If Wang Hao saw Tang Ya now, he would have clapped his hands while praising Tang Ya’s shamelessness. Good thing he was not here.
While Fen Xia and the unnamed man was down already, Fen Chen and Fang Lin were still fighting. At this point, Fen Chen only had 5 swords remaining. Upon knowing that Fang Lin could easily remove his sword control, Fen Chen went with an all-out offensive. He used the five flying swords in all sorts of attack angles to give Fang Lin no time to dodge.
Fang Lin could only dodge at this point. He could have used brute force to stop these attacks, but he wanted to keep his physical strength as a trump card. So he trained his qi manipulation to form his own threads. He observed Fen Chen’s movements while copying it. As time passed, Fang Lin was able to produce finer and stronger qi threads thanks to Fen Chen’s ‘lessons’.”
Once Fang Lin was successful on forming the thread, he attached it on the 5 flying swords on the ground. Fen Chen could have reconnected with it earlier, but Fang Lin’s offensive prevented him from doing so. Fang Lin was different however. With this perfect body manipulation, he can also multi-task. He can dodge the flying sword attacks and manipulate his qi threads at the same time.
1 hour have passed, and Fang Lin was still dodging Fen Chen’s attacks. Tang Ya and Venomshade just watched on the sidelines, not bothering to assist at all. Both Fang Lin and Fen Chen were exhausted mentally at this point.
Suddenly, Fen Chen stumbled a little as he was walking forward.
“Now!”
The 5 flying swords lying on the ground suddenly flew up and pierced Fen Chen on his two arms and two legs. The remaining one was pointed on his throat.
“You lost.” Fang Lin said while gasping for his breath. This match brought Fang Lin’s mental capacity to its limits. If it were not for his tenacity, he could have been defeated earlier.
Fen Chen just closed his eyes and said “Indeed, we have lost.”
Chu Yang the announced “The winner of the first Semi-final match is Fatty Lin’s group!”
As the audience were cheering them, Fen Chen’s group were being carried away on a floating stretcher. But before being taken away, Fen Chen managed to say something to Fang Lin.
“Hahaha we might have lost now, but from what I see, you, Fatty Lin is going to be in a lot of trouble.”
“What do you mean?”
“Do you want to know why Tang Ya ran away from her house?” Fen Chen let out a sneer as he said “It was because the Madam arranged Tang Ya to be a concubine for Fang Xiushan!”
Upon hearing the name Fang Xiushan, Fang Lin clenched his fists tightly. He remembered how that guy used to beat Fang Lin up when they were young. He was not able to hear anything about him after being left behind in the forest, but it seems like he is a bigshot now.
‘Shut up Fen Chen!” Tang Ya shouted shrilly. “I will not let anyone decide my fate!”
Fen Chen then looked at Fang Lin with a pitying look. “What you said earlier about being Tang Ya’s future husband will greatly offend Fang Xiushan. Even though Tang Ya will just be a concubine, she is already Fang Xiushan’s property. And anyone who steals from Fang Xiushan will have no happy end! Hahahahahaha!” Fen Chen continued to laugh hysterically as he was being brought away.
Fang Lin looked at Tang Ya again. Right now, she looked so vulnerable, with her trembling and struggling to stop her tears. Deep in his heart, Fang Lin started to admire Tang Ya more. She clearly wanted to be herself! No faking and no deception! This is how a woman should be!
He then did what a gentleman would do. He hugged her tightly.
For once, Tang Ya did not push him away. She just stood there with Fang Lin hugging her. They stayed like this for a few minutes while Venomshade and the audience watched awkwardly.
“Thank you.” Fang Lin barely managed to hear her voice as she turned around to leave.
Fang Lin smiled, seeing Tang Ya calmed down like this. However, he failed to hear Tang Ya’s mutterings after that
“I still haven’t punished you for earlier...”
