Chapter 2: Prologue

Fuyu bolted up as she felt the World around begin to tremble. She heard a RUMBLE as everything felt more and more shaky. 

 

 

Her eyes widened. ‘Jishin ga okite imasu!’ She thought in horror.

 

Terror ran around inside of her.

 

Fuyu was just a little Siamese she-Kitten that had white fur, a chocolate-brown marking on her face that looked like a mask, chocolate-brown paws, chocolate-brown ears, a chocolate-brown tail-tip, and ice-blue eyes. She had never been prepared for actual Earthquakes!

 

 

Helplessly, Fuyu ran onto an icy lake. She tried to run lightly on it, not wanting to break the ice. She had to get out of here! 

 

 

 

Fuyu let out a yelp as she slipped on the ice. She landed on the ice. And with a CRASH the ice shattered and she felt ice-cold water soak her. 

 

 

 

Icy fright spread through Fuyu. She wasn’t very good at swimming.

 

She flailed her limbs in the water, trying her best to swim, even though she did not know how. But, it was no use. 

 

 

She slowly sunk down. And down. Dread creeped into her. This was the end, wasn’t it? 

 

 

Fuyu was about to let go of her life when something caught her eye. She looked down and saw a hole with a bright light shining from it. Hope burst inside of her. If there was a bright light shining at a spot, it was usually an exit! 

 

 

Fuyu flailed her limbs again, trying to swim down towards it. But she was terrible. Absolutely terrible.

 

 

Not to mention that she was losing her breath as each moment passed and the cold was soaking her so badly she thought she would go numb.

Fuyu somehow managed to reach the light. But, when she did, she barely had any breath left and she felt like she was moments away from going numb. She also felt like she was moments away from dying.

 

 

Fuyu went into the light and let it take over her.

When the light died away, Fuyu found herself in an area that was surrounded by dirt. 

 

 

 

Fuyu weakly tried to push herself up, but she just failed and fell back to the ground instead. 

 

 

‘Watashi wa doko ni hakoba remashita ka…?’ She thought weakly yet confused.

 

 

Fuyu’s gaze blurred. Dread jolted her.

 

‘Ie…! Shinakereba naranai. Tomaru. Okita. Shinakereba naranai…taizai…okite iru…’ she thought. 

 

 

Fuyu slowly closed her eyes, letting exhaustion and weakness and the cold, cold, wet numbness take over.

 

 

 

Until everything was pitch black, and she no longer felt or sensed anything.
