You fall to your knees and take Rosetta’s decapitated head into your hands.

“Noooooooo!” you cry out for your dead comrade while the tunnels crumble behind you.

“We’re trapped!” Gorrazsh screams in panic.

You pay no attention to the cowardly orc. You glare at the knight in black armor and clench Rosetta’s head.

“Summon imps!” you bellow.

Eight cute loli girls appear before you. As always, wearing nothing but leather belts for clothing, with curved daggers in their hands.

“Waste that fucker!” you command your minions, then you summon your Hellfruit.

All eight lolis giggle in an unsettling way and sprint at the black knight, casting fireballs at him as they run.

“Cover me!” you order your other companions, who are also seemingly shellshocked by what is going on and rush with Rosetta’s head in your arms to her body. You fall on your knees at her neck that continues pumping blood through the neck stump.

“What the hell are you doing?” Epsilon asks you while Elza, Gorrazsh, Alpha, and the little pet Xi run ahead of you and form a half-circle around you and Rosetta’s body.

You ignore the big-tittied bunny girl and wipe away the blood from Rosetta’s body’s neck, searching for her esophagus. As soon as you locate a suitable hole, you stick the Hellfruit as deep inside as you can, hoping you didn’t push it down Rosetta’s windpipe.

“Summon Hellfruit!” you command and summon another Hellfruit. This fruit you push into Rosetta’s mouth. You grab her jaw and move it up and down, roughly imitating chewing. After that, you connect Rosetta’s head to the rest of her body and summon a third Hellfruit.

As you push Rosetta’s head against the neck stump, you crush the Hellfruit in your fist, pouring the thick liquid over the bloody connection on Rosetta’s neck, mixing the Hellfruit juice with the blood.

In the distance you hear the loli imps crying in pain, a momentary glance informs you that the dark knight is mopping the floor with your minions.

Elza and Gorrazsh watch in horror how the dark knight smashes one purple-haired loli against the smoldering stone floor. He holds her head face-down, the little girl’s cheek presses hard against the charred stone. The knight then drags the girl across the stone around him, spinning faster and faster.

Two little girls jump on the armored knight—one on his head, the other onto his shoulder—and continuously stab him with their daggers, searching for a weakness in the armor. The knight ignores them and continues spinning in a circle, literally raking the screaming purple-haired loli across the coals until she shatters into thousands of tiny, broken, glass-like particles and disappears.

“Summon Hellfruit!” you shout, summoning the fourth Hellfruit. You crush it in your fist and pour it over the neck and into Rosetta’s half-open mouth.

“It is pointless,” a deep menacing voice echoes all around you. “The magic to revive the dead is lost to this world.”

The dark knight raises the last imp, effortlessly holding her head with one arm. He then clenches her fingers and crushes her skull. The imps entire body shatters into countless fragments and disappears, like the others.

The knight laughs and slowly approaches your party. As he does so, the heat intensifies.

“Ugh, William?” Gorrazsh’s voice trembles almost as much as his knees, though he does not move from the spot.

You ignore the knight’s taunting, the orc’s whimpering and stubbornly repeat the process, summoning yet another Hellfruit.

[Congratulations! Spell [Hellfruit] is now level 3!]

As you pour the juices into Rosette’s mouth, you see her open her eyes.

“Hn,” the adventurer moans weakly. You hold her frail body in your arms, resting her head against your forearm, afraid to let it move even an inch.

“See?” The dark knight laughs. “You cannot—HUH!?”

Rosetta cannot even lift a finger and weakly speaks, “I feel... Lightheaded...”

“It worked!?” the dark knight’s shocked, deep voice echoes across the burning hall.

“Are you shitting me!? It worked?” Epsilon is just as surprised and rubs her eyes in disbelief. “Well, I’ll be damned. What other tricks you’ve got up your sleeve?”

“Interesting,” the dark knight says, regaining his composure. “I would’ve thought you to be the reincarnation of a certain Demon Lord, had I not just unleashed his ashes upon the world.”

“The world?” You ask, still on your knees, holding Rosette in your arms.

“Of course!” The dark knight’s voice echoes and he raises his arms. “This city is only the beginning! Soon this blight will spread across the land, and we will rule the world! Oh, we might just call it that—The Blight!”

“'We'?” Elza asks.

“My brother and I,” the dark knight menacingly explains. “He’s on the upper floors of the fortress, overlooking the experiment—Ah, but I need not explain myself further. I will take this young reviver. The rest of you may die… Any volunteers?”

Epsilon crouches near you, puts her hand on your shoulder and whispers to you: “I can get us out of here alive. We might have to sacrifice one or two or all of the others, but that should be nothing new to you, right?”
