Chapter 78: 72: Firebear

“Yeah, no,” you say as you take a step back from the giant bear. “Imps! Burn it to ashes!”
The little girls don’t need to be told twice—they unleash two fireballs each, straight at the bear. The monster catches on fire, lighting up like a match. It rises on its back two legs and roars in pain and fury. When it falls back on all fours the ground shakes and the bear runs straight at you. You barely duck out of the way as the bear charges through the place you were standing on a second ago, leaving a burning trail behind it. Roaring and growling, the bear charges straight through a decently-sized pine, ripping it out with all the roots, and continues on further.
The moment you breathe in the air which the bear disturbed, your nose is attacked with the stench of burnt fur, to the point that you can almost taste it in your mouth. You try to spit it out, of course, it doesn’t help.
You jump to your feet and cast [Summon Spider]. Out of a cloud of smoke, a giant, human-sized spider appears. The lower part of the body is that of a spider – four pairs of hairy legs, sticking out of the frontal segment of its body, with a signature, egg-shaped segment attached behind. The upper part, attached to the middle segment of the spider’s body, belongs to a voluptuous, naked woman with blonde, silky hair.
You jump onto the spider-woman, right behind her human back, point ahead and shout, “Follow that bear! Imps, stay with me!”
Normally, you wouldn’t give a rat’s ass about the damn monster, but it could be a source of precious experience, and you’re not about to let it run out of range. Thus, you, the spider and the five loli imps run behind the bear, following its destructive path as it sets more of the forest on fire. Even with you on her back, your spider is easily outpacing whatever sprinting you're capable of. Why didn't you do this before? This is one of the advantages of not having a physical build of a seasoned warrior. You have no idea for how long your spider could keep this up, but, it seems, in short distance sprints there are few reasons not to use the spider. Apart from the obvious energy costs.
It takes about half a minute for the enraged fire-beast to finally collapse, turning into a pyre. The spider you are on approaches close, but not too close-apparently your summon is not too fond of the fire. Speaking of which, you look behind you and notices that it is rapidly spreading from the burnt path left by the bear. The bear’s corpse is also not helping matters, being big enough, and providing enough heat and fuel to light up nearby bushes and trees.
Then you hear some kind of strange noise approaching fast, like the braying of a horny donkey. You look to the source and see a bronze-colored stag charging at you.

“Burn that sucker!” You command the imps. “And make sure it stays down!”
The imps fire their fireballs at the stag and follow it up by throwing their daggers at its head, neck, and chest. Four out of the five daggers hit and the stag falls as it charges, landing close to your spider, which takes several steps back from the fire. Only now you notice that one of the stag’s eyes is also infected with the strange white worms. You didn’t see which of your lolis failed to hit the stag, bt all you have to do is look at the imps, and the answer is clear. Four lolis are laughing and pointing fingers at the girl with pink-colored bob hair, who crosses her arms, pouts, and analyzes the particular species under her feet, avoiding eye contact with her comrades.

Now that’s the message you haven’t seen for a long time. It turns out your imps are actually incredibly overpowered against local wildlife. Who needs allies when you have psycho lolis?
However, before you decide on which spell to level up, you have a choice to make. The fire is spreading fast and you can’t stay here. Do you continue your hunt for local beasts, disguised as a search for friends, or you leave before you’ve burned the whole forest down?
