You get comfortable and recount to the succubus Eisheth the events of the past ten days—give or take ten days, because how can you possibly tell now how long it has been? Despite your best efforts to keep it short, the story takes enough time to dry out your throat. All this time, Eisheth smokes her pipe and sits cross from you on one of her cushy sofas, drowning in colorful pillows with one leg crossed over the other.

You tell about your summoning to this world by Ariadne, the previous Demon Lord’s death, theft of his body, and your dealings with Pythia. The whole ordeal with the bandits and how Ariadne ended up taken away from you. The dealings with the bunny girls and the journey here. You don’t specifically mention your “death”, since you yourself are still not completely sure what happened, and just mention how your party got separated during the fight with dire wolves.

Eisheth clicks her tongue in dissatisfaction and says, “That foolish girl. I can’t travel that great of a distance.”

Your heart sinks when you hear that.

“And I’m supposed to be related to you?” Eisheth eyes you again, clearly unimpressed.

That was uncalled for, but you don’t have time for a dick-measuring contest.

“What even took you so long to get here?” Eisheth funnels her anger at you. “By this point, my little sister has either taken care of everything herself or is long dead, if not worse!”

You rather not imagine what this woman imagines as a fate worse than death and instead try to turn this conversation in a more productive direction. You ask, “Maybe you know someone who can teleport to the capital? Apart from this mysterious thief Anthony?”

Eisheth’s expression changes and you can tell you’ve made the right decision in keeping the dialogue on the point and where it matters. “There’s nothing mysterious about that boy. Just a kid that’s too competent for his own good, yet too young to visit my fine establishment. No, you need to find Rosy.”

“Rosy?” you ask. You were about to ask why can’t Eisheth find her herself, if she knows her better and has a teleport spell, but you don’t want to antagonize a potential ally too soon. “Who’s that? Where do I find her?”

“She’s the strongest adventurer in town by a wide margin, and… Well, when she’s in town there are two places to look for her. Just head for the adventurer’s guild and try to catch her there. I’m... discouraged from going there.”

“Mind telling me why?”

“One or two popular adventurers might have taken offense to the fact that my boys and girls dress up as them. It’s all just some silly prejudices. Who are we to judge if a customer wants to make love to the adventurer he looks up to?”

“Back where I come from we have a saying—customer is always right!”

“Right?”

“And where’s the other place to look for her if she’s not in this guild?”

“Right here, but I’ve got that covered.”

“Oh.”

“Now go!” Eisheth hurries you. “By the way, in the guild she’s probably better known by her full name, Rosetta.”

“Understood,” you say as you stand up. You also get the feeling that you might’ve heard that name before. “Let’s go, Epsilon!”

“Sure thing!”

The three dog-eared twins still snarl as you both pass them, and they and don’t let their eyes off you for a second, all the way to the door. Eisheth doesn’t seem to mind that you are escorted out of her establishment in such a way. She’s either sure that ‘Cerberus’ will not attack you, or doesn’t care if they do.

“Bring Rosy here as soon as you find her!” the succubus reminds you before taking another puff from her pipe.

“And what if she comes here first?” you ask the succubus.

“We will leave for the capital at once,” Eisheth states it as a matter of fact.

“What?”

“If you were as competent as you think, you would not have let my little sister be taken away like that! So, you will forgive me if I won’t delay Ariadne’s rescue by even a minute. Especially if I don’t value your presence as anything more than a meatshield.”

This little… You clench your fists as your eyes lock with the golden-burning eyes of Eistheth.

Finally, you say, “Let’s go, Epsilon!”

You open the door and leave the building. It’s well past noon. You’ve spent several hours inside.

“You do realize that woman will send someone else to look for this Rosetta?” Epsilon says to you when you walk down the brothel’s steps.

“Obviously,” you agree with the bunny girl. “If Eisheth values her sister’s life that much and she has as many resources as she appears to have, she will send her own minions into every corner of this town.”

You stop the first town-folk you see—this time it’s an old lizard-lady in a hooded, yellow cloak with a basket of lilies. You cast [Submission] and say, “Tell me how to get to the adventurer’s guild, now!”

“Sure thing, young man,” the old lady answers in a frail but kind and warm voice. “Walk further down this road, then take a sharp left, then turn right at the first intersection, then walk straight through the market, you will know when you see the adventurer’s guild.”

“Thank you,” you thank the old lady for the detailed description and walk per her instructions.

“How strong do you think she is?” Epsilon asks.

“The old lady?” you ask sarcastically.

“The succubus!”

“If she’s anywhere close in power to her younger sister… very strong.”

“Could you take her down?”

“Yes!”

You’re not sure if you could. Maybe with all your summons at your disposal? Ariadne seemed of equal strength to Chi when they fought. However, your fight with the bunny leader was short-lived and that time she cut through your imps like butter. They’re stronger now, you think. Either way, you cannot possibly tell anything else to your subordinate but a confident yes. Despite the fact that your savviness screams at you that older sisters are nearly always supposed to be stronger than younger ones in these scenarios.

You hear the marketplace long before you reach it. The noise of a busy street, that you have not heard for a long time. You see hundreds of people of different kinds of races. Wooden stands with white cloth overhangs to protect from the sun. And in the blink of an eye, the noise fades into the background. Out of a nearby street, you see a familiar giant, green muscular figure, with countless bandages all over its body, walk to the same market area as you. That alone would not be enough, nor would it be enough to see a young human girl, limping alongside him. But when, from behind the towering figure of the orc, you see emerge a familiar purple-haired young woman, followed by a petite girl a pair of long, white bunny-ears, your suspicions are confirmed.

You see Gorrazsh, Lyanna, Elza, and Alpha walk closer and closer to you. All of them are worse for wear like they've gone through hell and back. It's not like in the movies, where the heroines still have perfect hair and make-up, with a few brown smudges on the clothes. Gorrazsh has his arm around Lyanna, to help her walk, Elza looks like she's spent a year without a shower on a change of clothes. Even Alpha, with her distant stare, seems weary.

“W-William?” The orc stutters and freezes in place when he sees you. Lyanna’s face turns white, sweat drops form on her forehead as if she’s seen a ghost. Then she draws her bow and points it at you. Elza immediately takes a fighting stance, you clearly see the air cool around her hands as ice particles form and consolidate at her fingertips. Gorrazsh draws his giant blades, right here, on the edge of the market. The townsfolk that notice this also freeze in place.

The most shocking to you is when you see Alpha’s usually dead-face show the slightest hint of life—her eyes narrow and head tilts by the smallest margin. Others might not even notice such a small change, but to you, the difference is clear as day. The bunny girl is surprised to see you and Epsilon here.

“W-who...  Who the hell are you?” Lyanna shouts pointing her nocked arrow straight at you.

“Wait, what do you mean?” you ask and raise your hands at chest level, trying to calm her down.

“Don’t pretend, fair William,” The orc says with weapons in hands. “We saw you both ripped open by the vile murderous dire wolves! Blood flowed from you! Should I also expect to see my good friends Cassandor and Mori, walking among the living?"
