The gray-eyed and brown-haired Ren Shuren's expression twitched slightly when he heard Yao Jun utter his name. He let out a soft sigh and took a few steps forward and snapped off one of the thinner ribs that stuck up from the ground, laying it down on the ground and sitting down on it a bit away from Yao Jun.
"Since you know my name, I take it that Ren Jingyi was unable to resist your interrogation? Tell me, just how much pain did you put her through?"
Ren Shuren's eyes gleamed strangely as he looked at Yao Jun, it was as if a small gray serpent swam around inside his pupils. Yao Jun didn't know if this strange gleam held any purpose, but he still decided to shield his soul and mind using his Anima Essence, the soul equivalent of Qi. He slightly raised an eyebrow at Ren Shuren's somewhat strange first question, but he still answered it.
"I don't have a fondness for torturing others, nor was there a need to, so there wasn't really much pain involved in getting her to talk."
All he had to do to make Ren Jingyi talk was flood her mind with poison and his mental energy, the process had taken less than five seconds in total. If there was any pain involved it would have to be when she was ambushed by Xuhuan and subsequently kidnapped. Ren Shuren gave a small nod of his head and let out a somewhat relieved sigh.
"That's good, I was the one who had her follow me here so it would have been terrible if she were to suffer a horrible death because of that."
Ren Shuren raised his head after letting out the sigh, his and Yao Jun's eyes locking. Ren Shuren's expression turned a bit sharper as he looked Yao Jun up and down, taking the initiative to move on to the main topic.
"So, Yao Jun, I can guess at why you've come here, you want me to stay out of the inevitable battle between you and Luosho Li, no? But forgive me for saying this, but why should I? I've been ordered by my superiors to help her reach the first spot, or take the first spot myself if I find it necessary. And while I admit that you are strong, I don't believe you are strong enough to fend off both me and Luosho Li at the same time, just fighting one of us should be rather difficult, no?"
Yao Jun wasn't too shocked that Ren Shuren knew about him, it only made sense for Luosho Li, or for one of their other allies, to tell them about him once his information started to spread. Yao Jun gave a light nod of his head, his gaze drifting downwards slightly as he answered, not denying Ren Shuren's words.
"You're correct, I'm not fully confident in being able to kill Luosho Li yet, and I'm much less confident in killing you. Should the two of you team up then I will have no choice but to flee. But tell me, do you think the girl you're hiding down below will be able to resist my attacks? I might have to flee, but she would certainly die as I fled."
Yao Jun's gaze pierced directly through the ground, landing on the silver-haired and black-eyed woman that was hiding in the cave beneath the ground. There was a strange Qi surrounding the cave so he couldn't spy on it with his law of space, but the Qi was unable to block his enhanced eyes, he could even see what she was desperately trying to hide. Ren Shuren's eyelids twitched once, but he made sure that his expression remained calm as he responded with a casual wave of his hand.
"Hoh, you can even see her? My law of time should be repelling your law of space, so you must have either great senses or great eyes. But so what? Kill her if you like, she's just the one in charge of sending information from us to the rest of our people, whether she lives or not doesn't actually make much of a difference."

Ren Shuren did his best to look calm and casual, but the faint smile that Yao Jun was looking at him with caused an uneasy feeling to spread through his body. Yao Jun continued to smile faintly, standing up from his seated position as his shadow rose up and gathered in his palm, forming into his sword.
"I see. Well, it's normal for children to be abandoned by their parents, I guess the child should consider itself lucky that it was abandoned before it was born and knew love. Oh, by the way, could you tell me the name of the woman and the child? If I have to kill someone like them, then I at least want to know their names."
Ren Shuren's calm expression collapsed completely as he rushed to stand up and block Yao Jun. His lips twisted as he looked at Yao Jun and his faint smile, internally cursing at Luosho Li and the others in charge of finding information about Yao Jun. No one had told him that Yao Jun's eyes were so good that he could see directly through his attempts at hiding the girl, even allowing him to peer into the girl and noticing that she was pregnant with his child. He quickly waved both of his hands, stopping Yao Jun before he could take a step forward.
"Stop STOP! Fine fine, I'll tell you, you fucking freak. Her name is Ren Yazhu, and just as you guessed, she is my wife. The birth of our son is still quite a few years off, thanks to our strong bloodlines, so we haven't decided on a name yet. There, I told you, so please, just sit back down and let's continue discussing!"
Yao Jun looked at the worried Ren Shuren for a short second before sitting back down, his sword dissolving into the wind. This was his greatest card against Ren Shuren, the love he felt for his wife. As for whether or not Yao Jun would have actually killed the woman and her unborn child if Ren Shuren had continued to persist, only he knew the answer. Ren Shuren didn't know, and Yao Jun bet that he wouldn't be willing to risk it, just like Yao Jun wouldn't risk it with Guo Luo. Ren Shuren sat down again as well, running his hand through his hair while looking at Yao Jun with a slight grimace.
"No wonder Luosho Li sounded so worried when she talked about you, you truly have a personality suited to the Supreme Law fragments you are carrying. Alright, state your terms."
Ren Shuren didn't have Ren Yazhu leave the underground cave, despite Yao Jun knowing that she was hiding there, after all, there was no telling if he might still choose to attack her. Yao Jun raised his right arm, stretching out two fingers as he stated his demands.
"I won't make it too hard for you, you'll just refuse at that point. I have two simple demands that you must swear an oath on. One: You are to pretend like we never met and you are not to tell anyone anything about me. Two: You cannot help Luosho Li in any way from now on, that includes giving her information, items, or physically helping her."
Ren Shuren had his own circumstances that he had to keep in mind so Yao Jun knew that if he tried to push him too hard he would be forced to reject him and would instead choose to risk fighting him. Ren Shuren gave both demands some thought, eventually nodding his head and adding a demand of his own.
"Fine, I can swear an oath to that, but you must swear that you will not harm my wife or the child unless they try to attack you first."
Yao Jun nodded his head in agreement almost instantly, he had somewhat expected Ren Shuren to make one or two of his own demands. Both swore their respective oaths, casting a single glance at each other before splitting up, Ren Shuren returning to his wife while Yao Jun continued to hunt down the remaining blood tokens.
