Demons didn't dream, but when he was in his human form, Azren was just like other humans who could dream in his sleep.
Sometimes, it was just a simple dream related to his daily activity. He dreamed about how he was driving Michy to the Seventius building, and he even dreamed about how he was cooking in the kitchen.
Those were just simple dreams, and Azren never thought too much about that. But, sometimes his dreams couldn't be said as simple. There were times when he dreamed that he kissed Michy. In the dream, he hungrily devoured the idol's lips before trailing down his lips so he ravished the slender neck that belonged to the young boy.
He even dreamed that he touched Michy's whole body without letting an inch of the skin escape from his warm palm. More than that, he once also had a dream of him and Michy making love hard and passionate.
Those dreams ended with his blanket wetted in the morning, and he had to wash the blanket secretly because he knew that it was such an embarrassing moment.
Just by recalling those dreams, Azren's face turned red, making Michy frown at him in confusion. "What's wrong with you?" He asked curiously.
Realizing that he was thinking something naughty at a time like this, Azren immediately tried to brush off his crazy thought by shaking his head. "Nothing, Michy," he answered before plastering an awkward smile on his face. "I'm just curious about your dreams. Can you tell me more about it?"
Azren was not good at hiding his feeling, but he hoped the idol wouldn't be able to see through his face that wasn't able to put on a lie. And he was lucky because Michy quickly shifted his eyes away before starting to tell the story.
"I started dreaming the strange dreams when I was little," the story from the idol began. "It was not a vivid dream, and I could only see the fire in the dark. But somehow, the fire and darkness managed to scare me."
Michy was not the only human who was afraid of fire and darkness, but the story from the idol still confused Azren. Michy didn't have a direct experience with fire and darkness, and it was only a dream that ended up bringing the idol to the suffering.
But, Azren knew that it was not because Michy was too weak. He somehow could feel that the case with Michy was not simple.
"Can you tell me what kind of dreams that you have had since you're little, Michy?" The demon tried to ask the question carefully, not wanting to scare the idol more.
Michy finally looked up at him, and at a glance, Azren felt like he was seeing the nice Michy who looked pure and fragile. There was no more the nice or evil Michy nowadays, and the one who was by his side was the normal Michy. However, the weak Michy when he was sick looked like the nice Michy so much, and Azren wanted to scoop the fragile body into his embrace.
"It's not clear," the idol answered. "I was in a space that was only darkness there, and suddenly the fire appeared. It was suffocating, and that kind of dream was a nightmare for me."
Azren was thinking about how demons could also provoke humans to sin by visiting their dreams and luring them, and he would assume that the dreams were the creation of the demons when he just heard the story.
But, if he thought about it again, not many demons had the powers to visit the humans' dreams to provoke them to sin, and that kind of dream usually didn't last for so long. Michy said that he had been dreaming that kind of dream since he was little, and probably no demons would be able to do that.
Azren was just a lowly demon, and he didn't have that kind of power. That was why he could only provoke humans to sin by directly approaching them.
"Why did you fall silent all of a sudden?" Michy's question broke his reverie, and Azren blinked as he looked up at the idol.
"I'm sorry. I was just thinking about something."
Azren was just thinking about how demons usually worked to reach their goals, and he couldn't tell Michy about that. Thankfully, the idol didn't seem to suspect him.
"The dreams were unclear, but just now when I was still unconscious, I was dreaming a clearer dream with the fire and darkness."
Michy suddenly continued the story, and Azren had the curious look on his face. "You had a nightmare before you woke up just now?" He asked.
Nightmare. That was indeed a nightmare. Even when Michy was only recalling the 'nightmare' he had before he woke up, he once again felt the tightness in his chest.
"Yes," the silver-haired idol answered. "I was in a dark place without light before the fire started to lighten up the mysterious space. After that, I saw some people, but their faces were blurred. I couldn't recognize them at all."
The story got more mysterious, and Azren ended up furrowing his brows. "You really couldn't recognize the people in your dream? But, why did you suddenly have a dream about strangers?"
Michy weakly shook his head. "I don't know," he answered again. "It looked like they were the royal family of an ancient kingdom when I saw their clothes. The kingdom was attacked by another kingdom, and there was fire everywhere. The king asked his wife and his son to hide in the underground bunker, but then... then the two people..."
Michy suddenly couldn't continue his story, and his blue irises trembled as he looked so panicked.
Seeing that, Azren got up from his seat and held Michy's shoulders firmly. "Breathe, Michy. Everything will be alright. I'm here with you."
The pair of trembling eyes stared at the green ones as the owner replied, "No, everything is not alright.. The two people were burned to death in the underground bunker, Azren."
