“Mmh. It’s still delicious.”
In front of Lillet’s confectionery, Airi got the pastries she wanted and nodded in a satisfied manner all the while chewing.
Shien stood next to Airi, looked at his much thinner money pouch, counted the few gold coins left in it, and could only lament about how hard this second life of his is.
Airi obviously also saw Shien’s depressed state and spoke in an irritated tone.
“Isn’t it just a few pastries? Other people would practically beg to offer me stuff. You’re the only one who’d act so unwilling about it.”
Airi took another bite of her pastry as she spoke. She even looked quite confident the way she said it.
Shien got mad.
“You’re obviously a bit shot yourself. Don’t you think it’s shameful making me buy stuff for you?”
Shien viciously countered.
But Airi acted completely nonplussed.
“Delicious things are delicious. What’s shame got anything to do with it?” Airi spoke like she’s speaking common sense before then turning to ask, “Also, what’s a big shot?”
In response, Shien just flapped his mouth a few times and wilted, too tired to talk anymore.
If it was Lucy, Shien would definitely give her a proper talking and let her know the meaning of brainwashing.
However, faced with this little girl who’s definitely some major person of note while still acting like a naive and sheltered young lady, Shien really just couldn’t do it and mislead her like that.
To give this world a big shot with a bunch of strange miscomprehensions?
The demon world would probably try to kill him for that, right?
Thus, Shien could only give up and sigh.
“Speaking of, shouldn’t you be at home? Why’d you run out on your own?”
Shien moved on from the previous topic and instead asked Airi something else.
Strangely though, this instead only made Airi dissatisfied.
“Rather than coming out, did you want me to wait at home just by myself?” Airi spoke in a very dissatisfied tone, “I might like sleeping, but when I’m not sleeping, I really dislikes being bored, alright?”
True enough. This little girl’s pillow isn’t just there for show after all. Rather, she herself loves sleeping.
At the very least, during the past few days in the Latrard family home, Airi would typically sleep until noon before she’d get up, and even when she does get up, she’d behave like she’s very sleepy. The scene of her sleepily rubbing her eyes had made hearts pop up in Lumia and Melika’s eyes countless times. Even Vivian and Diere would sometimes end up staring at this little girl.
According to the person in question, in the past, she had even slept hundreds of years at a time in several occasions. She’s also had many experiences where she slept over a decade or several years as well. There were even times when she’d end up getting sleepy while she’s walking around, and then just fall asleep right there and then.
This is the reason why Airi would bring a pillow with her everywhere she went.
That’s something that she herself claimed .
Of course, Vivian and the rest instead claimed that Airi’s pillow wasn’t just for sleeping, but also for blocking.
But none of them were willing to tell Shien just what it’s supposed to be blocking.
This made Shien quite curious, so he had on several occasions tried to steal Airi’s pillow. However, Airi places great importance on her pillow, so any attacks aimed toward it would be instantly dealt with.
But all this did was make Shien even more curious. One time, he even just directly asked Airi to let him take a look.
“Just one look!”
That was what Shien said back then.
“How can I allow you to see?”
However, Airi had not only rejected him without hesitation, she even gave Shien a glare.
“Why?”
Shien didn’t give up though. Instead, he just kept on pestering Airi about it without end.
Finally, Airi was forced to give Shien an explanation.

“If you see it, you’ll end up just like those annoying males, constantly staring at me. I dislike those kind of gazes, and I dislike the way they look at me even more.”
Thus, Shien has still been unable to solve this mystery.
Bringing things back on topic though, due to her sleepiness, the little girl in question would sometimes not wake up no matter how much she’s called out to. There were even several times when there was no one familiar at home when she awoke.
So this time was definitely because of that reason as well, right?
That’s why Airi ran out on her own.
“I originally wanted to go find you, but you seemed to be in the palace, so I didn’t go there. Thus, I just walked around until I got here.”
Airi explained how she ended up here.
“Alright.” Shien shrugged, but he then questioned, confused, “How did you know that I was in the palace though?”
Shien only randomly asked that question without really thinking about it.
However, who would have thought that he’d end up finding out something unbelievable through it.
“I left a bit of magic power on you.” Airi spoke as if it’s completely normal, “This way, I’d be able to detect you no matter where you are.”
“So that’s how it is.” Shien first just nodded habitually before then realizing the issues with that, making him ask in shock, “You actually did something to me?”
“Your way of putting it sounds really bad.” Airi frowned, “I only used a bit of magic power for location and detection purposes. It doesn’t do anything besides that. Otherwise, it would be really hard for even me to do anything to you through such a vector.”
It seems that even Airi can’t easily do something to Shien through his maxed out [Physical Resistance], [Magic Resistance], and [Abnormal Status Resistance] skills.
Thankfully, Shien’s Holy Sword was triply sealed and it’s powers thus greatly lowered. Otherwise, even if Shien didn’t actively use the Holy Sword, there’s no way that Airi would be able to leave her own magic power on Shien’s body given its powers against demons.
However, even without the Holy Sword, it’s likely that it’s only existences on Airi’s level who are capable of doing such things against Shien and his max level resistance skills, right?
However, Shien didn’t feel any pride about that at all.
Didn’t that mean that no matter where he goes from now on, there’s no way for him to escape this little girl then?
This little girl seems much more clingy than he had imagined.
“Right.” Shien suddenly thought of something and addressed Airi, “When I went to the audience today, I saw someone important among you demons you know?”
“Is that so?” Airi didn’t really care and just continued chewing on her pastries while asking uncaringly, “Who?”
“His name is Jacinta. Supposedly, he’s a direct subordinate of one of the six great demon lords, the Dragon Demon. He’s basically the second in command kind of existence in the demon world you know?” Shien probed, “Do you know him?”
In response, Airi stopped eating.
“Him?” Airi spoke without much thought, “What’s that idiot in the mortal world for?”
“I-idiot?” Shien was rather shocked at that manner of address.
The reason why he brought up Jacinta was as a test to see how Airi would react. To see what kind of attitude she might have toward this second in command level existence of the demon world and use that to gauge Airi’s own position in the demon world.
But now, given Airi’s unthinking way of calling him an idiot, doesn’t that perhaps mean that Airi’s status is even higher than Jacinta’s?
Higher than even a second in command level existence of the demon world?
Wow…
Just who is this girl?
Thus, Shien weakly reported everything that happened earlier in the day to Airi.
Airi didn’t really care at the start. Only when Shien brought up the matter of the Old Demon Faction appearing in the Stalim territory did the girl in question finally show a dark look, with a cold gleam in her eyes.
“Humph…”
Airi coldly hmphed.
That single action made the air around them shake violently though.
“…”
Shien went silent.
Freaking terrifying.
