Sorix:
Dating life as a Dread Lord is hard. There are certain expectations of you. Like, you are supposed to kill, and ruin everything. The type of people who are ok with that, are not the type I want in my bed.
I put the finishing touches on the banana bread, and then take the three bottles with cocoa milk. After placing all of that in a box, I seal it shut, and place three gold coins on the counter. Elias was very gracious, when he gave me a free rein of his kitchen.
With a bounce to my step, I climb down the tree. As I walk the streets, I can see tired elves shambling around. They have bags under their eyes. Yet, I don't pity them. It was their foolishness which resulted in a polluted river.
The guard before the inn checks my box for anything dangerous, and lets me in. I have never understood why they will allow someone with a dagger entrance, but if it is something food related, they have to do a full search.
Still, I smile, as I make it to the room of my dragon, his mate, and their cub. At this time of the day, Erik should be in school. Chances are, Givontair and Nathaniel are taking the time to get to know each other better, if you know what I mean.
Initially, I wanted to exclude Nathaniel from my dream relationship. He is just a novice, when it comes to necromancy. Can't even hold a candle to me.
Still, I am being too harsh. It was this little flaw of his, that allowed him to recognize his mate. To be perfectly honest, I feel jealousy towards his good luck.
After knocking, I hear someone walk in the room. My smile widens, when I see Givontair in the doorway.
"I made us breakfast," I say, holding up the box. "Elias was kind enough to let me use his kitchen."
"Elias forgave you?" Givontair doesn't sound very convinced. I open the box, and then wait for his reaction. "Banana bread?"
He sounds hopeful, I grin at that.
"Made with a secret recipe," I tell him with a grin. "A shameless attempt at bribing you, with the full intention of romancing you and Nate."
"Wait, what?" Givontair blinks at me. I place the box in his hands.
"Where is the novice?" I say, but without the usual bite in my voice.
"I am right here," Nathaniel comes, with just a towel around his waist. "And you are not talking us into a threesome!"
"Come now, dragon slayer," I say, as I eye his still wet chest. Givontair's hair is also damp, now that I know what to look for. "Three is a company."
"I am not convinced that this conversation is supposed to be done in the hallway," Givontair steps to the side, to let me in. As if remembering the box for the first time, he goes, and places it on the coffee table. "Nate, get dressed. I don't like the way Sorix is looking at you."
"Come on, I just want to appreciate someone as chiseled as Nate," Nathaniel doesn't blush. Instead, he snorts, and folds his arms over his chest.

"You might have Giv fooled, but not me. I still remember how you threw me against a tree," I chuckle at that. Those were fun times.
"If you can't look pass that, then how can you trust me to watch your back in the fight with Ajax?" I ask him in a sing-song voice. His brows furrow some more.
"Just get dressed," Givontair urges him. "And dry your hair. If you catch a cold because you needed to be in a pissing contest, I will make sure to heal you in the most embarrassing way possible!"
Nathaniel gulps, and walks away. I pass by Givontair, and make myself comfortable on the couch.
"So, my proposal is simple, dragon," I say, as I stretch my legs. "You let me spent some time with the three of you. If you still don't want me around, then I will just help you with Ajax, and that would be that. I owe my freedom from the Dread to you. So, you can trust me that I won't push too much."
"Can we wait for Nate to come back?" Givontair never seemed like someone who will wait for other's input, to decide.
"Sure," I smile at him, and pat the spot next to me. He lingers in the doorway, without moving even an inch. I sigh, then. "Can you at least bring plates and cups for the breakfast? Surely, you have nothing against me staying for it?"
"Right, just wait here," Givontair also disappears, but he goes in a different direction, than Nathaniel.
Just as the dragon comes back, Nathaniel also comes in the living room. He has his sword strapped to his back. I hold back a chuckle. Yes, the sword is a powerful weapon.
But not against a Dread Lord. The novice would have known if he only went to some of the sermons of the Dread. Or, maybe, it is for the best that he is this clueless. What with how I ended up, and all.
The two soulmates bring chairs for themselves. I resist the urge to frown at them. The couch is big enough for three.
"Now, can I make my case?" I ask the two. Neither is making any moves towards the banana bread. "Look, I don't ask for much. Just give me a chance. For all the two of you know, you might even grow to love me. Besides, I am good with kids."
"Most of your interactions with Erik ended up with him hiding behind a barrier," Nathaniel reminds me. I roll my eyes at him.
"I was a different man, back then. You can accept two people who have a prophecy hanging around them, but not a third one?" I ask the novice necromancer.
"You are yet to prove that what happened to you these past couple of days is not an act," Nathaniel retorts.
"But we will give you a chance to become our friend," Givontair says. I smile, as Nathaniel frowns. The dragon turns towards his mate. "You are the other part of my soul, and I won't cheat on you. Yet, I feel as if I am not enough for you."
Nathaniel's eyes widen at that. Huh, just what happened between them, for Givontair to think like that?
