Elias:
When I finally come back to myself, I see that I am tied to a stone slab. I try to get out of my restraints, but can't seem to be able to. Instead of rope, I am in chains. The manacles around my wrists dig into my flesh. I look around. I can see the woman who looks so much like my mother, that I thought Sorix brought her back.
She moves closer to me, with a dagger in her hand.
"Mother," I croak, the woman smirks down at me, and shifts. Now, there is a man before me. He has white hair, but he is no albino. For one, his skin is tanned, and his eyes are green. Yet, I can see something from Givontair in the bone structure of the man. The two share the same straight nose, the same high cheekbones.
"Ajax?" I ask, as his smirk widens.
"The one and only," he says, as he gives a small bow. I roll my eyes at his theatrics.
"If you want to kill me, then do so now. I won't play mind games with you," I tell him. He twirls the dagger between his fingers.
"Kill you? Is that what it looks like? You will probably survive the night, and the next day, on top of that. What I need you for, is to play bait. My whelp of a son can't get away with what he did to me," I remember then, that Ajax's tail is hurt. I grin at that.
"Are you worried, that the son you threw away, will be your end?" I allow myself a smirk, to rub salt in the wound of the once almighty dragon king. He doesn't seem to take the bait.
"I can feel him coming ever closer. No, I don't think he will be my end. I didn't raise him, but I was the one to leave him with the human couple. Givontair's head is full of many silly notions. Of loyalty to one's family, of a desire to not become a kin slayer," Ajax leans over, so he can whisper in my ear. "Notions I don't suffer from."
I begin to think about a way out. This is a trap for Giv. If I don't do anything, he will have to face Ajax all by himself. I begin to hit the metal of the chains. Ajax sees this, and chuckles.
"These chains were made sturdy enough, to even hold dragons," he tells me with the same smirk that he has had since I woke up. I really want to punch him in the face. If it wasn't for him, the Dread wouldn't have named a champion. One that would restore the balance.
I want to at least sent a message to Giv, for him to stay back. If he dies, all hope of us bringing Ajax down dies with him. I begin to pulse my mana, in a pattern, which should convey that Givontair is to go back. Instead of the dragon doing so, he sends me pulses that assure me, he is on his way. I groan.
Ajax barks a laugh at my attempts to get Giv to return to the safety of the town.
"It is cute, that he made friends. Despite the prophecy," Ajax says, and I think, for a second, that he almost sounds fond. "It is for the best, if there is at least one person, who mourns his passing."
"Why attack him now?" I snarl. My head can't wrap around the idea, that Ajax has waited for 100,000 years, just to strike now. "Can't you see that he has a grip on his sanity?"

"For how long, I wonder?" The dragon murmurs more to himself, than to me. "Any other father would have been proud with such a son."
These words take me aback.
"And you aren't?" I ask him. He shakes his head.
"I am fond enough of my son, to know that his death, albeit necessary, is a waste," his words make me blink. If he doesn't want to kill Givontair, and if Giv doesn't want to kill him, can't they just come to a compromise?
Yet, I hope they don't. Ajax has been burning the countryside since a very long time. I don't even remember what stories there were about him, from before 100 years ago. Whatever he did before the fall of the Draconian Empire, is washed away from the annals of history.
We hear footsteps, and I turn around. I see Givontair, as he stops in the clearing. He is short of breath, and looks to be low on mana.
"Run away!" I urge him. If I die, then I will die. But I don't want for anyone to come with me to the Dead Lands.
"No," Givontair says, as he pulls out his dagger. He addresses his father next. "You said I sunk low, to keep the company of Dread Lords and necromancers. Yet, it seems, you are perfectly willing to do the same."
Ajax yawns then, showing just what he thinks of these words.
Givontair makes a couple of steps towards us, but then the necromancer who has been sitting next to my stone slab, gets on his feet. The white dragon narrows his eyes at him.
"If you want someone dead, you should have the guts to kill them yourself!" Givontair yells. As he is now, he won't be able to shift into his dragon form. Yet, that didn't stop him, from coming to rescue me.
"Do I look like a knight to you?" Ajax asks in a drawl. Givontair lunges at him, only to have to jump to the side, as a ball of necromantic mana almost hits his leg.
I can see that Givontair is sizing up both the necromancer and his father. The necromancer makes another ball, as Ajax retreats to a safe spot. With a snarl, Givontair breathes fire down on the necromancer. I can feel the heat from the flames, but don't dare to so much as move.
