Chapter 79: I like you

Norrix:

It is finally nighttime, and I get to come out of the bottomless bag. After Givontair tells me of everything I have missed, my nose scrunches up. I don't know why the albino dragon is so accepting of Ajax, even when the elder dragon kidnapped Elias.

Yet, I don't give Giv any grief over it. Relationships between family members are often like icebergs. With the people saying only what swims on the surface, and keeping the deadlier underwater part for themselves.

Seeing as Giv is no longer needed in the town, we head out. I glance at Ajax from time to time. He is trailing behind us, in a leisurely pace. Nothing would suggest, that he wanted to harm us. Erik is walking by his side, and badgering him for stories. I go to Elias, who is walking at the head of the group.

"Do you really believe that he has turned a new leaf?" I don't specify about whom I am speaking. Elias doesn't seem to need me to, either.

"He could have killed me, yet, I didn't get so much as a scratch from him. I know you don't believe him, but for Givontair's sake, don't accuse him of anything. He did manage to win Nate over. The only one of us, who has a genuine reason to hate him," Elias reaches out, and takes a hold of my hand. I blink at that. He turns around to face me, and smiles.

That smile does weird things to me. I feel as if I am coming down with the flu. Which is odd, considering that vampires don't get sick. Yet, I can't explain in any other way, why my knees are weak, or why my stomach tightens in a knot.

"Are you hungry?" Elias asks me. I shake my head.

"Giv fed me, before we moved out," I see that Elias looks disappointed at that. "Why? Did you want to...?"

I let my words trail off. Elias gives my hand a squeeze.

"I like you," Elias says, with a soft smile on his lips. "I know that I won't live as long as Giv, or even Sorix, but I want to get it out there. I like you, Norrix Doros. Just keep that in mind."

Elias lets go of my hand, and then continues to walk ever forward. We are headed for Khuzd. To drop Erik off there, before we go to the Black Book of the Dread. We walk in silence, each one of us with plenty to mull over.

Well, apart from Erik and Ajax. They seem to be playing a game, where someone will begin a story, and the other person will continue it. I listen to the adventures of a rabbit and a fox with one ear.

When the skies color crimson, I stop. Just once, I would like to see the sun in all its glory. I don't even remember how it looked like. Spending the daytime hours in a bottomless bag also doesn't do anything for my mood.

"Do you want me to come and stay in the bag with you?" Elias asks, as if reading my thoughts. "With a group like ours, few things will try to attack."

"If it isn't a problem for you. It is a bit empty, in there. But it is also warm," I say. Elias chuckles at that, and turns towards Givontair.

"Giv, can I also stay in the bag?" Elias asks. Givontair nods, and pulls the bag out of his other bag. It is not like he makes me go into a bag with things in it. Which is great for me because I can pretend to fly, when I am all alone. All that, without stubbing my toe on something like a potion bottle.

The two of us get in the bag, and I watch, as Elias makes a bulb of light. It illuminates his features. The light makes his strawberry-blonde curls glow. His gray eyes look like they are a part of an icicle.

With eyes like that, I wonder, how did he become a fire mage. He takes a hold of my hand, as we begin to fall down. There is no bottom, but after an hour, we will stop falling.

"What do you do in here for fun?" Elias asks me. I smile bashfully at him.

"Fly," I tell him, and then begin to move us around the bag. He chuckles, when I twirl him around.

"You know, this is not too bad. But do you know what will really be great?" Elias asks me. My heart begins to beat in a more urgent way. Is he suggesting what I think he is suggesting? He leans closer to me, and gives me a lopsided smile. "Can you guess?"

Our breaths mingle then, and I gulp.

"Are you certain? I mean, I am a vampire, and you are an elf. People won't look too favorably to this," I tell him. He presses his forehead against mine.

"If a dragon can be in a relationship with a dragon slayer and a Dread Lord, then what is the problem with this?" He doesn't let me answer, as he kisses me. I lose myself in the softness of his lips. They are seemingly slightly chewed, but that only makes them more endearing. I place a hand behind his head, and hold him. When he becomes short of breath, I let go of him. He gives out a satisfied chuckle.

"What are the chances, that if we get messy in here, the bag can be cleaned?" Elias gives me a foxy smile, to which I widen my eyes.

"You mean? Us... doing.... I don't want to fly with cum all around me tomorrow," I stammer. He begins to laugh then.

"So, I am allowed to only kiss you, then?" He leans back closer to my lips. I close the distance. Maybe, once we get our own room at Khuzd, we can get to know each other better. Still, I don't want to be the one to face Givontair, if we make a mess in his bottomless bag.
