"I am starting to get sick of only seeing those bricks all around…" Ann said while furrowing her eyebrows.

"At least we have the map to make sure that these walls won't fool us," Andrew said. "With even all the fighting, we barely leave any trails on the floor. Still, just in case, we should find a resting room really far away from the starting points. That won't be hard since I am imagining that the distance between them is doubling with each one we cross."

Andrew checked the wound in his arm to make sure that sweat and dust wouldn't fall on it, he cut a bit of shirt to protect the wound, but he really needed at least some clean water to help with that. Soon enough, another encounter happened, and once again, three goblins emerged. This time, Andrew decided to use magic. Ann used her wind sphere, and then he used Fireball to ignite the area around the monsters. The beasts began to groan in agony, thanks to the fire that spread around their bodies, and Andrew approached to finish the job.

The spearmen were the ones who could attack first, so he impaled them one after the other, and then Andrew's spear broke when he tried to pull back on the second. In the end, he threw the broken stick at the face of the goblin archer who was already nocking an arrow.

"They are recovering faster… and their weapons are pretty much garbage," Andrew said. "It didn't even last five fights."

"Are you sure that they are getting tougher?" Ann asked while looking at the bodies and failing to notice any differences.

"Goblin archers shouldn't have more health than the spearmen, and yet this guy recovered after four seconds," Andrew said. "The others stayed like that for five… it seems that their numbers and offensive power aren't the only things that will increase as we proceed."

Fighting without others' help was starting to look even more reckless than before. Andrew assumed that the first floor wasn't meant to be cleared that fast, and everyone had to use it to get stronger and understand how their systems worked. So, the best option was to stay at a spot for a few days, which would give Ann enough time to build her strength. However… Her goal was to find her parents, and they couldn't just stay in a single place for long. The more time they waste, the chances of them not meeting each other at the exit will increase.

As they advanced, Andrew began to think about what they could do to win against numbers. Using magic wasn't enough…

"I guess it is fair to say that I became acquainted with those three, and yet… they didn't appear on my friend list. Something else is the trigger," Andrew thought.

After walking for not so long, Andrew and Ann saw the path ahead, turning to the side. The same thing happened a few more times… as expected, that path only looked like the shortest. Andrew made a mental note to not to assume the most obvious things from now on.

Suddenly, they heard the sound of walls moving, and they didn't notice the walls in front or behind them. Andrew signaled for Ann to keep quiet and walk slowly. After approaching the next spot where the corridor turned, they took a peek and found those three sitting on the ground. The sweatpants guy was trying to clear a wound in his left arm… it seemed a bit deep. The others looked tired as well. It seemed that he got wounded a while back, and that was affecting the group as a whole.

"What should we do?" Ann whispered. "We can't just pass by them and follow them from behind. We should help."

"They will see your power in action…" Andrew said.

"Only if I use it," Ann said. "If we stay with them until the next resting point, it won't make much of a difference. Still, it is up to you to decide."

"... I really don't like this… we will help them for a short while, but if they do anything suspicious, use your power and blast them away," Andrew said. "It won't kill them, and that will give us enough time to pull something off."

Ann nodded, and then they started to move. That was an excellent chance to check how Andrew's system worked. Once those three heard the sound of footsteps, they readied themselves, but then they saw Andrew and Ann and relaxed a bit, but the girl in their group glared at them. It seemed that she was holding a grudge since one of her friends got wounded.

"You guys…" the sweatpants guy said.

"It seems you all have been enduring some hardships as well," Andrew said, and then the others saw his wounded elbow.

"... Do any of you have the power to heal wounds?" The girl in their group asked.

"No, we don't have such a convenient skill…" Ann said. "I suspect that neither of you can do something similar as well.

The girl was armed with a spear, just like the sweatpants guy… and the glasses guy had a bow and a quiver filled with arrows. It was hard to say if he was good with it, considering that his friend got hurt.

"You must have lost some health due to that wound… Did you notice any of it recovering?" Andrew asked.

"No, I suspect that we can regen one point of health per hour. The wound isn't hurting as much as before, fortunately," The sweatpants guy said.

"Still, it would be better if you all could rest in one of those rooms just in case…" Andrew said. "We can team up until we find the next room if you want."

The glasses and sweatpants guys looked at each other while the girl furrowed her eyebrows. As expected, now they were the ones looking suspicious. Still, the sweatpants weren't mortally wounded, so they still had the upper hand in a fight.

"The corridors aren't large enough for all of us, so we can take turns. After all, we all need more time to recover mana," Ann said. "Still, if you all are against it, it will be fine. We understand that."

"We will accept it… it is too dangerous to be prideful now," the glasses guy said while fixing his glasses. "My name is Louis."

"I am Andrew, and this is Ann," Andrew said.

Louis - Brute Strength Lv 01

Brute Strength: passively increases your strength by one point per level.

The moment they changed names, Andrew was able to see the skill that Louis granted him just by being his acquaintance. That really wasn't half bad, but the news didn't end there.

"Diego… I will try not to slow you guys down," the sweatpants said while forcing a smile.

Diego - Throw Lv 01

Throw: throws a weapon at the enemy with high accuracy and power while it is in range.

Damage: Strength + skill level + 10%

Range: 10 meters

Cost: 04 stamina.

"Carol…" The ponytail girl said.

Carol - Active Meditation Lv -01

Active Meditation: Increases mana regeneration by one point per level.

Andrew froze when he saw the Active Meditation minus one… he would have to wait for a minute, but he already could guess what had happened. His mana regeneration was canceled because Carol was still pissed at him.

"This system might be useful in the hands of someone popular and a good leader… but in my hands, it is the worst double-edged sword…" Andrew thought.
