The group managed to cover a lot of ground without facing problems since they were working in turns. Also, enough time had passed for Andrew and Diego to recover one point of health that they lost when they were attacked. The wounds were still there, but they were closing quite faster, and the pain in them was gone.

"It seems that we really can recover one point of health per hour," Diego said.

"Don't get careless… even if that is the case, I doubt that such an effect can work if we get hit on the vitals," Carol said with a serious expression on her face. "I don't think that it is a good idea to compare them, but games also have the bleeding effect. We should assume that the same thing is applied in this reality, even a small wound in an artery might become mortal."

Andrew could imagine that Carol would be the first to burn out. She was always serious and angry. In that kind of situation, such people get tired faster than others. In any case, Andrew had confirmed what she said a long time ago since he managed to kill goblins with critical hits many times. After trading blows with them, he confirmed that their strength was the real deal, almost close to humans, so their health shouldn't be low, but they died in a single hit many times when they got hit in the vitals.

Still, such thoughts disappeared from his mind when the group saw another group of enemies emerging… this time, they found two archers and two goblins spearmen.

"Ann!" Andrew shouted.

"Roger!" Ann nodded.

It wasn't their turn to fight, but they joined it after Carol and Louise knocked some of them with their projectiles. Diego charged, giving the others enough room to aim and fire their spells, so he frowned when he saw a wind sphere and then a Fireball passing by him and then creating a small field of flames that burned the enemies for a few seconds.

Without hesitation, Diego stabbed the goblins' spearman and finished them off. Unfortunately, the archers nocked their arrows before he could target them as well. Fortunately, Ann and Carol used their spells again to buy some extra time. The enemies got in their heads, and then they dropped their arrows.

"Now!" Carol shouted.

Diego stabbed the monsters with all his might, and after grunting in pain for a few moments, the goblins died. That didn't last long, or anyone get hurt, but that was pretty intense… fighting against a group of enemies from now on will be difficult.

"You guys saved our asses," Diego said while forcing a smile.

"It seems that we reached another zone where the level of difficulty increased," Louis said. "I don't think we can move forward using the same strategy."

"We can either team up for real during the fights or retreat and slowly build our strength…" Andrew said.

"I vote for us to keep going, we are all looking for some people, so we can't afford to waste time," Ann said.

"That is true… still, most people will have a hard time passing this zone," Louis said. "We should leave a message behind to warn everyone about this… if we are going to continue."

In the end, the others wanted to go as well, but it would be hard to leave a message behind. One that couldn't be erased by assholes… then, Andrew saw the bodies of the goblins and their blood.

"That is quite the gruesome idea… I didn't raise you to become like that," Ann said when she realized what Andrew was thinking.

"If you have a better idea, I am all ears," Andrew said. "Besides, this will make people realize that the oath ahead will be a bloody one, and perhaps they should retreat and take things more slowly."

There was still the issue of food and water, but people won't have to worry about that if they died.

"I am going to help you," Diego said, and then he approached Andrew and began to write on the ground with the goblins' blood.

"... It looks like this is a message from a maniac," Andrew almost facepalmed when he saw Diego writing 'please' using blood.

"I guess so…" Diego said while forcing a smile.

The group began to move again while they were talking about how they should work together. Taking turns was no longer an option, so they were going to use proper formations. Once the enemies show up, the backline formed with Ann, Carol, and Louis will attack the monsters and make sure that they won't have the chance to attack first. Their goal was also to cause enough wounds in order to buy enough time for the front line to charge and impale them using something like a very basic phalanx formation. Still, only Andrew had a poor excuse of a shield, so Diego would be in a bad spot if the enemies still managed to attack.

"After the archers, if goblins armed with Shields don't show up, I don't think that they will anymore," Diego said. "The whole situation is forcing us to focus on attacking instead of defending, after all."

Andrew nodded. It was quite obvious considering what they had experienced… In any case, another group of monsters soon showed up, and those two moved to the sides of the corridor while they approached the enemies.

Ann attacked first since she had the longest range, and her spell could force the enemies to move. In order not to miss their shots, Carol and Louis waited until the wind sphere forced the two spearmen to move to the sides. They quickly followed the attack since they had a clear view of the archers. Carol made three rocks appear and land on top of one of the archers, and Louis targeted the other. As usual, his arrow split in two, but only one hit the other goblin archer, making the creature scream in agony when the arrow pierced its left shoulder.

Andrew sighed in relief when the attacks passed by his side without hitting him. Regardless, Diego and he attacked the two goblin spearmen. The little creatures thrust their spears forward as well, but Andrew trusted the power of Brute Strength and increased his reach by attacking with his right arm alone… his accuracy dropped since he was using only one hand, but the weapon still pierced the left side of the enemy's throat.

As for Diego, he dodged to the side in one heck of a fluid motion and approached before hitting the head of the enemy. That motion had been too sharp… he certainly used some type of skill…

Andrew had to forget about that when he saw the archers nocking their arrows… they were recovering even faster than before… in any case, Andrew read the line of the aim of the enemy and raised his shield. The arrow that was aimed at his head stopped when hit the wooden shield. Before the archer could try again, Andrew impaled its chest.

Diego finished things earlier by throwing the weapon… even though he attempted it for the first time, he actually managed to make his weapon hit and pierce the target's stomach. They won again without suffering a single scratch.

"Phew… this amount of tension is off the charts," Diego said after a deep sigh.

"True," Andrew said.

For someone who was claiming to be getting tense, Diego wasn't making a single mistake. Andrew couldn't find that much suspicious since he was in the same position, but he still had a small layer of defense that Diego didn't have and that was his shield.

"Let's hurry up," Diego said after they picked the spears and arrows.

Their pace increased again, but soon they slowed down when they found the corridor turning to many directions as they progressed. That area of the first floor seemed to be designed to make everyone get mentally exhausted since it was hard to know if they were making any progress. Still, they sighed in relief since they found another room after fighting one last time and this time, the resting room even had a fountain.

"Ah, I really needed this," Diego said and then approached the fountain.

After he cleaned a piece of clothing, he used that to clean his hands and then drank some water. After that, he proceeded to clean his wounds. Meanwhile, his friends couldn't help but facepalm. He didn't even consider the possibility of the water being poisoned or something.

"Relax, I don't think the creator of this place would be pesky enough to try to poison us after using so many monsters to fight us," Diego said.

He had a point, but Andrew still was suspicious… that being said, he had to clean his wound. Between getting poisoned or letting a wound gets infected, he did know what was the worst option…
