"The heck… that was a pretty good one," Ann said while smiling.

"I didn't get it. Can you explain it?" Diego asked.

"Use your head a little while we walk to understand the joke…" Louis said after he face palmed.

Carol just turned around while showing her usual serious face, but Andrew could see her back trembling a little while she was holding back her laughter. That was a classic joke, not very original, but Andrew was satisfied with the result.

Much to Andrew's surprise, Louis liked that one as well… perhaps Andrew could get stronger by telling nonsense now and then… that was truly a weird system.

"Some progress was made, but I want to be able to use Fireball at least five times per battle, and with their extra power, I will be able to solo the monsters if I have to eventually," Andrew nodded to himself.

The room had an exit on the right side, so it seemed that they still had to head North in order to find the exit on the first floor. Still, with the change in scenario, Andrew couldn't help but wonder if that hellhole was man-made. He doubted that only them were following that kind of path, and it would be weird if people had to follow through different tests. In any case, that place was truly starting to look like a world dungeon… they walked for several kilometers, and there was no sign of sunlight.

Andrew looked to the side, and then he saw Ann with her head down. She was even more worried than him since she couldn't say how her parents were at the moment. They also were having a hard time in the fights… thinking that they would have to endure the same, and by working with even more strangers didn't help improve her mood.

"We will find them," Andrew said while he patted Ann's head and then messed with her hair.

"Don't mess with my hair. That is the last thing I should worry about right now," Ann said while trying to fix it with her hands. "Wait, there is another room ahead…"

"We barely walked for four minutes…" Andrew said and then looked at the others and then looked at the others.

"This place was really made to get on our nerves…" Carol said.

"Let's fight the same way as before…" Diego said. "Try not to exhaust yourself by using skills. We don't know if this will keep getting worse."

"I wonder where the goblins are coming from… they must have come by walking from somewhere," Louis asked while scratching his chin. "If we stop in one of those rooms, will we confirm that?"

That was a good question, but they didn't have time to think about that. If that was the case, it meant that they would be opening a path for others to follow them from behind, and that was actually a good thing.

In any case, the front line moved the same way as before to face the goblins waiting to ambush them. The same way as before, Andrew and Diego charged to avoid the charge of the goblins armed with knives and then targeted the others armed with bows. Andrew didn't have to approach. He just used Throw with one of the knives and then hit the neck of his target. At the same time, the backline targeted the remaining monsters… another ambush that ended in a failure for the monsters.

"I guess I am strong enough to deal with those creatures… even if their numbers increase, Ann should be enough to help me," Andrew thought. "I wonder what she thinks about this."

Leaving the group now certainly would make him lose a few skill levels, but it was the best option to avoid future problems. Until now, their cooperation was doing well, and when Andrew looked at Ann, she shook her head, imagining what he was thinking…

"They are strangers, and we helped them when they were having a hard time, it is more than enough…" Andrew thought. "Eventually, when something troublesome happens, they will choose the option that will benefit them… before that can happen, we should avoid such scenarios… but I suppose Ann will have to experience that firsthand."

While Andrew was arguing with his dark side, the group began to move again, and this time, Louis decided to count the steps until they found the next ambush. It was kind of silly that the goblins still would keep trying that… once a group gets used to that, it would be stupid to insist, after all.

The goblins changed on the next ambush, the two armed knives and two Spearmen were there, but then from the exit of the room, a goblin carrying a wand showed up and immediately created a Fireball.

"Look out!" Carol shouted while she used her spell to attack the enemy with the rocks.

Andrew and Diego were too busy dealing with the other goblins, and they wouldn't be able to turn around in time. Carol's spell didn't stop the enemy either, and a human-sized Fireball was fired toward Diego… However, Ann fired a small wind sphere and hit the enemy's projectile.

An explosion happened, and flames spread around the room, burning pretty much everyone around. While ignoring the pain, Andrew threw a knife at the goblin shaman, but the creature erected an earth wall and blocked the attack.

"What the hell…" Andrew said.

As if that wasn't surprising enough, the goblin shaman began to hit the wall wind spheres. When the wall broke, pieces of the all and the wind spheres flew toward them.

Andrew raised his shield and charged at the enemy while ignoring the pain in his stomach and legs. The goblin shaman fired a wind sphere that hit him on his left side. Andrew almost heard the muffled sound of bones breaking when he lost the air in his lungs… but he didn't stop.

As if the monster didn't have enough cards up its sleeve, the goblin cast an ice arrow and aimed at Andrew's stomach, but he saw that and used the shield to block the attack before impaling the enemy's head. This time, he didn't hesitate, the pain made his blood boil, after all.

"Andy! Are you all right?" Ann asked after she ran to approach.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the consequences of my very own actions…" Andrew said while checking his ribs. "Just fine… nothing serious."

Although he said that Andrew could feel three fractured ribs… he also lost one third of his health. The broken bones and the burn marks were hurting like hell.

"Who could have thought that we would find a monster that could use magic so soon…" Diego said while checking his wounds.

"It was a trap… we experienced the same ambushes several times in order for us to get complacent and get surprised here… in a very bad way," Louis said.

"... This will serve as a good lesson for all of us," Carol said.
