Chapter 2: Part 2 – Being challenged

It feels like someone is staring at me. 

Even with my eyes closed, I could feel it because it feels intense. My eyes flutter open and immediately they meet the dark eyes of Mu Li Wen. I sit up right away and lean against the wooden headboard behind me. Mu Li Wen is sitting calmly on the edge of the bed, staring at me. 

“Um…. Hi?” 

My “Hi” is in English. It sort of slipped out since I tend to use it with my friends. 

Mu Li Wen immediately looks a little amused. “The language you use is very different.”

I shrug. “I guess it is because I am from a different world. Well, a more modern world.” 

At my words, Mu Li Wen raises a brow slightly. “I want to know more about where you came from. You can tell me about it over my meal.”

I am a little surprised he is not asking for sex right away. That is what I am for right? Mu Li Wen gets up and walks to the round table which is already full of delicious and drool-worthy looking dishes of food. He sits down and glances at me. 

"Come." For his petite size, his voice is commanding. I get up quickly, not wanting to piss him off. He picks up his chopsticks, which is an expensive and exquisite looking pair made out of jade. Mu Li Wen picks up a slice of radish. 

"Eat." He glances at me again when he realises I am not moving. 

I nod and pick up the other pair of jade chopsticks and start eating. The food is indeed delicious. Well, it is prepared for an Emperor. 

After a few bites, Mu Li Wen reminds me of his request. "I want to know about your world."

I swallow heavily and drink some tea to clear my throat. "Uh.. where do I start…" I scratch my head. So, I start telling Mu Li Wen about my time, the modern world. About technology, cars, devices, weapons.The things I tell him about tend to be more technical given that I am an engineer. I also reveal to him my theory on how I ended up here. 

"Transmigration?" Mu Li Wen looks both amused and impressed. "Sounds like magic."

"Maybe it is." I shrug. "Well that is about it about where I came from, there are a lot of fascinating things and uh, inventions."

"Interesting." Mu Li Wen nods. "How I wish I could see these inventions. They might help our great dynasty remain powerful against our enemies. Especially these weapons you speak of, guns?" 

"Uh.." Shit, I shouldn't have given an Emperor ideas about weapons. But since I am stuck here with him, I might as well be honest. It is not like my company will know I am breaking the confidentiality agreement here.

"Well, I am an engineer, someone that builds and fixes stuff." I add to his confused look at the term. 

"Ah! Like my Minister of Works?" Mu Li Wen nods in understanding. I have no idea who the hell is that but I nod too. 

"Sure. My company works on some projects with the military so it is my area of interest." 

"Hm. Interesting. Maybe I should let you meet the Minister of Works and my General one day. You could give them good ideas." Mu Li Wen looks thoughtful. Then, his expression becomes normal again. "But first, eat. I would like you to accompany me for my bath later."

"Oh." My hands shook a little at that. Fang Zexi, breathe!

I waddle over and pick one up randomly. It smells like oranges.Sweet, refreshing and nice. I settle on that and move over to Mu Li Wen’s side.
