Everyone was stunned and had goosebumps all over their backs.

The heavily armored soldiers came back to their senses one by one with a bang sound, and they naturally formed a half-circle with practiced ease. Mio immediately commanded them. “Draw the swords!”

That soldier, being surrounded, was suddenly at a loss. He glanced left and right and hurriedly said, “Have you recognized the wrong person? I never stayed in any prison!”

Kevin stroked the short knife on his waist. He happened to be standing at the mouth of the half-circle, blocking that soldier’s only way out. He didn’t turn his head as he said, “Shaw, have you seen clearly?”

“I remember his hand; it was my clan member who bit off his little finger,” Shaw said confidently. “The bite scar is still even there; I won’t be mistaken.”

That soldier looked at his own finger and hurriedly shook his head. “You could recognize people by merely looking at the finger? It’s too subjective! Do you remember the face? Wait until I take off the head armor before confirming it with my face.”

The armor around him was thick and tightly fastened. When he raised his hand and turned his head, a series of metal-colliding sounds could be heard. In this kind of swords drawn atmosphere, there was an indescribable horror.

“I will take off the head armor to let you see. You must’ve recognized the wrong person, must’ve recognized wrong…..” That soldier muttered as he pressed a circle button around his neck.

The ‘click’ sounds came in succession as the buckles were slowly loosened.

In that split seconds, everyone’s nerve was stretched like a bowstring, and every little detail was as if it was done in slow motion.

The soldier lifted his head armor, revealing a flustered harmless baby-faced. There was a horizontal scar on his neck. He eagerly walked a few steps toward Kevin, getting closer to Shaw. “You must’ve recognized the wrong person, right?”

“It’s you!” Shaw yelled out.

Just as he opened his mouth, that baby-faced suddenly collapsed like a deflated rubber puppet. The young and plump skin instantly slackened and slid down.

“It’s dangerous! Step aside!” Kevin barked out.

He suddenly pushed Ben and Mac toward the back and away from the path.

The heavy armor that the baby-faced worn abruptly lost its support. It fell to the ground with a loud crash, followed by the head armor and empty rubber skin.

A gust of wind made up from fine sands whirled rapidly on top of the armor and rubber skin, resembling a long twisted snake.

“Sand Ghost!”

This sound of cries was similar to dropping boiling waters into boiling oil; it exploded in a flash. The combined sounds of hippogriff’s whining and colliding metal were extremely chaotic.

“There’s only one of them! Attack!” The squad of heavily armored soldiers roared loudly. In an instant, they aggressively charged over.

The reason why Sand Ghost was difficult to deal with lay in two points. First, when a group of Sand Ghosts showed up, they would cause people a brief eyes and ears blockage. Second, they often transformed into sand form. The mobility of this form was too strong, and it was hard to hit their vital part.

However, being difficult to kill didn’t mean that they couldn’t be killed. Too intractable didn’t mean that they didn’t have weak points.

Having to deal with the Sand Ghosts for so many years, Kevin and the others could somewhat figure out something to do –

For example, when Sand Ghosts transformed into sand form, they seemed boneless. But in fact, they still had an internal organ. The flowing sands in the center covered their hearts. They would undoubtedly die if they were hit in there.

Another example was, Sand Ghosts were mainly afraid of water. When they appeared in the sand form, as long as a sufficient amount of water was sprinkled on them, their movements would become sluggish and stagnant. They would then be forced down to the ground and changed into a human form.

Of course, the fast speed of Sand Ghosts was incomparable. Knowing how to deal with them wouldn’t guarantee that it could be used when facing them.

But now, there was only one Sand Ghost!

One Sand Ghost won’t be able to cause eyes and ears blockage!

“We had more than thirty heavily armored soldiers and ten elite squad members of the Bronze Army, combined with three Giant Beastmans to deal with one Sand Ghost. I will still feel shameful even if we kill him! I will cut off my head as a soccer ball if we can’t do it!” Mio carried a sword and charged ahead to exchange blows. He had even wanted to move Kevin, who only had a short knife, to the back.

Something was wrong!

It was because there was only one that something felt wrong!

Kevin grabbed Mio’s collar and ruthlessly flung him to the side. At the same time, he shouted at the charging ahead soldiers. “Withdraw!”

Before finished speaking, the heavily armored soldier at the front had already stabbed his sword inside the whirling sand’s core. The stab was fierce with great accuracy. It was done with such a great force that even half of his arm went inside the sand.

“Already hit the heart!” That man shouted and crossed his arm, wanting to use part of the force to sever the Sand Ghost’s heart directly.

The Sand Ghost speedily twisted away like a water snake and dodged his next move.

“Ha! Why ran –” That man sneered, drew back his sword, and stabbed again. In the end, he just finished saying two words before stopping in shock.

His pupil abruptly shrunk, and his two widened eyes stared at the hand that held the sword.

The heavy sword fell to the ground with a clanging metallic sound. Half of that man’s arm entering the Sand Ghost’s core suddenly changed. From the fingertips, they began to change into sand granules and were sprinkled down to the ground. In a wink of an eye, the transformation reached his elbow.

“Ahhhhh –” The man was frightened and yelled.

His forearm that touched the Sand Ghost had already faded into nothingness. The bare elbow joint revealed an eerie white bone; it was both mangled and bloody. The pile of fine sands on the ground was blown and dispersed by a breath of the wind and sucked into the twisting Sand Ghost, becoming a part of him.

Everyone was stunned by this never seen situation. The entire Yachaofei Temple fell into a deathly silence in a split second.

A monstrous rough laugh spread out from inside the sand, terrifying everyone who heard it.

“Retreat!” Kevin shouted, pulling back everyone’s senses.

The soldiers that rushed to the front suddenly held their reins and changed their direction to run, but they were already too late. The Sand Ghost’s astonishing speedy movement at this time had simply made people feel desperation.

In a blink of an eye, he had sucked in the soldier losing his arm inside the sand. After stopping for only two seconds, he continued moving forward without any attachment.

That soldier’s shriek suddenly ended, resembling a death alarm.

Dong!

A remaining soldier at the back was sucked in by the Sand Ghost, dying without any corpse.

Dong!

The hippogriff without its master was swept aside by the Sand Ghost. It changed into sand granules, from the tail, then the body, the massive pair of wings, and the head.

Oswald already turned and climbed on the nearest hippogriff, shaking the reins. At the same time, he swiftly extended his hand and roared at Kevin. “Get on!”

Kevin grasped the seat and sat on his back in an instant.

“Go! Go! Go! Faster!!” Mio frantically yelled from the back. The hippogriff’s pair of wings under him set off an enormous wind, blowing down countless saplings. If it was a little faster anymore, it could fly up.

More than forty huge hippogriffs sped along at the same time. The momentum was so great that it almost flattened the entire suburb.

Shaw and the others had reacted much faster than those soldiers, and they changed back into beast form in a flash.

Three enormous beasts sped along madly. Their speed wasn’t less than those hippogriffs with a pair of massive wings. Because it was too fast, the muscle on their body had been deformed by the wind.

“Ahhhhh –” A shriek was heard from the most behind and unsurprisingly abruptly stopped.

Everyone didn’t even have the time to look back. They only wished to be a little faster and faster!

The abrupt stop of cries sounded from a little far on the back and continuously spread until nearby.

Kevin could even feel sand granules rubbing against his back. He pressed on the hippogriff’s belly, making the already fast hippogriff speed a little more.

“Hold on!” The wind had almost dispersed Oswald’s voice.

This reminder wasn’t too excessive. Kevin had been jolted that he almost couldn’t touch the hippogriff’s back anymore. If it was a little faster again, his whole self might be thrown out.

Nobody will have the spare time to be mean at the moment between life and death. Kevin’s entire left arm hooked on Oswald’s muscular waist, and his right hand firmly held onto the short knife. He then turned his head to look over.

“You fucking don’t want your life anymore! Where is your right arm?!” Oswald roared.

Kevin couldn’t care to rebuke anymore because he realized that only no more than ten persons were left of the initially more than forty persons. Yet, that twisting sand snake still closely pursued them and was unwilling to let go.

Because the speed was too fast and the frequency of the up and down jolt was too great, Kevin couldn’t clearly see who the remaining ones were. He could only vaguely hear Mio’s snarl scattered by the wind. “Damn! Lao-zi is sick with this bastard!!!”

Merely by the period of these words, the Sand Ghost had successfully taken three more persons. In a flash, it had reached Kevin’s back…..

Oswald tightly pulled on the rein on one hand, while he also needed to consider his back to avoid directly throwing Kevin out.

However, he could hear the sand friction sounds reaching over soon. It was so near as if it would swallow Kevin and directly come for his back.

“Kevin!” Oswald didn’t even have the time to yell out four words and directly yelled out a name.

He could vaguely feel the body behind his back stiffen. God knew that he had practically flown into a rage in that instant.

He didn’t know if the imminent death or other things caused it.

He didn’t even care about the imminent danger and turned his head to look over.

He could only see a small portion of Kevin’s body from his angle. The Sand Ghost attached to him as if he wanted to suck in Kevin’s body; at least his right hand had already been drowned in the sand.

Oswald held his breath. There was an indescribable feeling that seized all of his senses.

Shortly after that, everything in front of his eyes became blurred. The Sand Ghost suddenly changed his form in the air and raised his hand for a strike.

Oswald only felt an ache in the back of his head, and his vision went completely black.
