Eleventh Day Without Divorce — Do You Think Being An 18th-tier Actress Is Easy? (1)

The more Liang Yan drank, the dizzier she felt. Zhou Zhibo didn’t mention the drama even once and continued to play, so she excused herself to sober up a bit. She walked along the wall since her legs were weak. Then she squatted down for a while when suddenly she was picked up from the ground by the back of her collar.

“What?” Liang Yan frowned and grabbed her collar. She didn’t bother to check who picked her up.

Liang Yan leaned her body on the cold wall, grunting, as if this would sober her up a little.

Lu Lincheng hid amongst the shadows to make sure he wouldn’t attract unwanted attention, and then he glanced at Liang Yan again. His eyebrows scrunched together and asked, “Where is Jiang Mu? Did you come to play alone or is there something else?”

Liang Yan felt like she stumbled into a nosy stranger. She shook her head and stammered, “I’m… I’m not here to play… I’m here to discuss work.”

As soon as she finished speaking, a man suddenly walked up beside her. He was one of the deputy directors of Zhou Zhibo. He saw Liang Yan leaning on the wall and didn’t notice Lu Lincheng, so he directly seized Liang Yan’s wrist. “Liang Yan, brother Zhou wants you to come back.”

Liang Yan reflexively grabbed her hand back and shook her head. She was unwilling to go with him. “No, I’m not going anymore! You tell him I’m going home. I’m not going.”

The man tightened his hold on Liang Yan’s wrist but didn’t forcefully drag her back. He laughed and said, “We agreed to discuss the drama. If you don’t come back, Producer Zhou would be unhappy. You’ll miss the opportunity to talk to him.”

Liang Yan grew still, lowered her head, and bit her lower lip.

The man added, “Don’t worry, we’ll personally send you back to your place later. How about it?” He let go of Liang Yan’s wrist. “Come on, come with me.”

Liang Yan seemed to struggle for a moment. Then she slowly looked up. “Sorry, I’m not going back.”

“I want to go home. I’m already drunk.”

The expression on the man’s face changed in the blink of an eye. “Liang Yan, don’t make me upset.”

He grabbed Liang Yan again. She staggered as the man moved.

The latter found that he couldn’t drag Liang Yan and that an arm tugged her by someone else. He looked at the person, wanting to warn the other not to meddle in the affairs of others, but he was suddenly stunned speechless.

“Lu… Lu… Lu…”

Lu Lincheng grabbed Liang Yan with one hand. His face emitted a freezing cold aura as if he was covered by a layer of frost. His cold lips said, “Are you talking about Zhou Zhibo?”

The man never imagined that he would meet Lu Lincheng here. Then he glanced at the drunk Liang Yan. Cold sweat appeared on his forehead. “No, that… please listen to me… we only came here with Miss Liang just… really…”

He couldn’t finish explaining and only said half a sentence, but Lu Lincheng wasn’t interested in listening. The latter sneered and half-supported, half-carried Liang Yan as they walked away.

The man stared at their backs. In his ears, the devil-like sneer of Lu Lincheng still echoed. He shuddered.

So, Lu Lincheng and Liang Yan, what was their relationship?

**

Liang Yan was directly thrown onto the hotel sofa, screaming.

In the car, she had been a mess. Finally, Lu Lincheng managed to bring her into her suite, slightly gasping and his clothes crumpled. He crossed his arms and gazed at the woman on the sofa, eyebrows wrinkled tightly.

“Liang Yan.”

Liang Yan sobered a bit after being thrown. She rubbed her temples and sat. Only then did she recognize Lu Lincheng who stood across the room.

The person who fished her out of trouble was Lu Lincheng.

She pointed a white and tender finger. “Lu… Lincheng…”

He had endured all the way here, and now he had a chance to speak to the still confused Liang Yan regardless of whether she could understand or not. “You think you’re very capable? Talking about work in the bar while drinking?”

“What kind of person was Zhou Zhibo, you don’t know?”

Liang Yan didn’t understand what Lu Lincheng said, so she giggled. “I know.”

Lu Lincheng really wanted to pry open her brain and see what was inside. He laughed angrily, “You still went despite knowing that they don’t have good intentions? Last time, you hit my hand, and this time, you did it again. Liang Yan, are you lucky or am I simply unlucky?

“What happened last time?” Liang Yan glanced at him in confusion. Noticing Lu Lincheng’s angry face, she shook her head.  Her memory of the past three years was still blank, so she couldn’t recall it.

“Oh, I apologize. I’m sorry.” Liang Yan buried her face, full of pain. “I can’t remember anything from three years ago. I really have amnesia.”

Lu Lincheng sneered. “Amnesia? What an excuse to let you do the same stupid thing a second time! If I didn’t come to the bar tonight, Liang Yan, where would you be now? Huh?”

Liang Yan felt like a child being criticized by her parents for getting drunk. Aware that she was in the wrong, her head moved lower and lower, almost shrinking to her stomach.

The room was quiet. Lu Lincheng wanted to scold her more, but he heard sniffing. Liang Yan inhaled, stopping her tears. She whimpered.

She used her cuffs to wipe her nose, but the more she wiped, the more tears and snot flowed. “Oooohhh… Don’t scold me.”

Lu Lincheng gritted his teeth as he watched Liang Yan cry. “You should be scolded.”

Liang Yan burst out into tears, sobbing. She talked about her grievances in her drunkenness.

“You think it’s easy for us, 18th-tier actresses? Oh… oh… Hu…

“You think I want to go, ah? You think I want to drink with them… I do know… but I can’t afford to offend the producer… huhuhu…”

“You’re so popular, of course you don’t understand my situation. I have no drama to shoot… I used to.” Liang Yan hiccuped. “Every day, I went looking for drama productions, and they would agree to use me because I look good. But then something would happen. The role will be stolen away because of connections.”

“I don’t know what’s happening!” Liang Yan cried, her cheeks red.

“Bang!” Her gestures were exaggerated because she was intoxicated. “I can’t remember anything, and I’m miserable again. Before, I still had drama to shoot, now, how come there’s nothing? Huhuhuhu…. Nothing…”

Liang Yan pointed a finger at Lu Lincheng. “And your fans… huhu… huhu… every day, they scold me.”

For a moment, Lu Lincheng couldn’t think.

He checked his phone for the time and realized it was already 1:00 am. Tomorrow, he had to go to work.

Lu Lincheng sighed, brought Liang Yan to the bed, and then resignedly grabbed a towel to wipe her hands and feet.

As Liang Yan’s body landed on the bed, she immediately closed her eyes and fumbled to take her clothes off. Then, she threw them off the bed. She slept alone for a while, but later, she felt the other side of the bed sink.

Lu Lincheng took a shower and was covered with the light minty smell of his body wash. He filmed earlier at the site and stayed in the hotel with only one bed.

Liang Yan was a bit confused.

How was this scene a little familiar? It seemed like this happened last time. She slept alone at night, and then next to her was Lu Lincheng.

Then… then…

Liang Yan’s face heated up, and she buried her head into the pillow.

The next day, because she was angry at him, she told him she didn’t feel anything.

Lu Lincheng reached out to turn off the bedside lamp and glanced at Liang Yan, who behaved like an ostrich, her head buried in the sand. He asked, “What’s wrong? Headache?”

“No,” Liang Yan answered, her voice muffled because of the pillow. But after a while, she couldn’t hold it in anymore, so she lifted her head and gulped heavily for air.

Lu Lincheng turned off the light, and darkness filled their room. He rolled over. “Go to sleep.”

Liang Yan’s heart, for some unknown reason, felt manic. She couldn’t tell if she was sober or still drunk. Sniffing Lu Lincheng’s body scent, she suddenly said, “Last time, when I told you I didn’t feel anything, I was lying.”
