King Jaren, King Corvus, Crown Princess Pica, Mana, Raven and Rook – all of them watched anxiously as Imperial Physician Kale and Junior Imperial Physician Vale examined General Aquila once again.

"Clean bill of health," Imperial Physician Kale announced. "You can do whatever you want to – just don't stray too far from Prince Raven and Princess Mana, as I said before."

General Aquila nodded obediently.

Everyone heaved a sigh of relief.

Raven, who had been rather nervous until now, relaxed visibly, and Mana rubbed his arm with gentle fingers.

"Mana and Raven really get along quite well, don't they?" General Aquila commented, watching the two children. He'd noticed how close Mana and Raven were, and how they implicitly trusted and covered for each other. It was quite unusual for someone their age, to be honest.

"Indeed," King Corvus said.

"Are they soulmates?" General Aquila asked. "It seems to me that they are."

"They are," King Jaren said. "Well, at least they are what is accepted as soulmates in the royal family of the Emerald Kingdom."

"They are fated soulmates," Crown Princess Pica chipped in. "It is good that they got to meet each other early – now they can grow together, and their magic and power will also grow faster when they are with each other."

King Jaren frowned. "Is that so?" he wondered. "Head Sage Yue said the same thing," he murmured. "What does that mean?"

General Aquila and Crown Princess Pica looked rather horrified.

"Yue…Yue said that Mana and Raven are fated soulmates?" Crown Princess Pica whispered. "There's a prophecy about them in the Pearl Kingdom as well?"

King Jaren nodded. Head Sage Yue had been hanging around him more and more often these days, perhaps in an attempt to see how King Jaren behaved so he could try the same on Raven. In one of these conversations, the matter of "fated soulmates" had come up.

It left King Jaren rather confused. He had heard this both from Head Sage Yue as well as Crown Princess Pica now, but he wasn't sure exactly what "fated soulmates" was supposed to be. King Jaren couldn't be happier to have Raven and Mana engaged to each other, for he adored Raven as much as he adored Jules and Mana – and he whole heartedly approved their match. He had no doubt that the two children cared for each other very much and he was very happy to have them together. He also knew that Mana and Raven were soulmates, just as he and Dora had been, or like Jules and Bella were – otherwise the secret space would not have opened up for them.

However, why "fated"? King Jaren didn't have a very good feeling about it. Prophecies had always made him uneasy, and to imagine that little Raven had prophecies from both the Pearl Kingdom and the Obsidian Kingdom hanging over his head, and that these prophecies included Mana, and perhaps even their baby Azar…that made King Jaren feel extremely uneasy. On top of that, the prophecies weren't even very clear, and the original words had been lost decades, or perhaps, centuries ago. But these vague words were enough to cause trouble for his precious children, and that made King Jaren very worried.

Meanwhile, Crown Princess Pica was explaining how fated soulmates grew much more powerful when they were together.

"…so you see, when Mana and Raven practice their magic together, because their magic resonates with each other, they develop faster, and thus they are more powerful than other children their age," Crown Princess Pica concluded. "It is even better than Mana also possesses multiple elements, that helps her and Raven even more." She turned to the two children. "You two would have noticed that your common elements progress much faster for Raven, right?"

Raven tapped his chin thoughtfully. "It is true that my earth, fire and water magic has developed exponentially since I got together with Mana and we started practising…but my wind magic and dark magic has also grown a lot. Especially my dark magic," he replied.

Crown Princess Pica nodded. "That's because there's the additional element of you being the owner of the black token," she explained. "Also, if I'm not mistaken, Mana would have started feeling stirrings of dark magic within her as well."

King Jaren and Raven both rounded on Mana.

Mana blinked innocently and shook her head. "I haven't really felt anything too different," she said. "I don't think I've developed any new magic at all."

Crown Princess Pica frowned. "That can't be right," she murmured. "You had a surge, yes?"

Mana nodded. "A very mild one, actually, not a proper, real one," she said.

Crown Princess Pica felt around in her pocket and pulled out a small, transparent crystal. She handed it to Mana. "Try putting all your magic into this," she said.

"All?" Mana asked. "It won't break?"

Crown Princess Pica shook her head. "It'll merely circulate the magic and return it to you right away."

Mana immediately did as told. The crystal glowed brightly, flashed the colours of the rainbow and went transparent again.

Crown Princess Pica and General Aquila was stunned.

"What's wrong?" Raven asked immediately. "What's happening with Mana?"

King Jaren, too, had an anxious look on his face.

Crown Princess Pica and General Aquila looked at each other and then back at King Jaren and Raven.

"Mana…seems to have awakened all five elements, just like Raven," Crown Princess Pica said slowly. "Her dark magic and her wind magic are very rudimentary now, so that could be why she hasn't been able to sense it much yet…but they are definitely awakened."

"So…Sister Mana will become as powerful as Big Brother Raven?" Rook asked excitedly.

General Aquila and Crown Princess Pica nodded.

King Jaren was quite relieved. It wasn't anything bad, then. It really did seem like Mana and Raven were a match made in heaven!

Raven's rainbow eyes glowed with excitement as he looked at Mana.

Seeing him so happy, Mana smiled slightly. It was always good to be more powerful, and if she could match better with Raven, she could protect him better, couldn't she? They could even experiment with wind magic and dark magic together now…
