Chapter 121: 121 – Raising A Toast (1)

When all the guests had been seated and the entrée had been served (and eaten so quickly that anyone watching over the banquet would wonder if they just witnessed a time jump – but then the guests would tell you that the food was just too delicious and they just couldn't resist gobbling it up), King Jaren stood up to the ring of a traditional bell to make his announcements.

"My dear citizens and my dear guests – today, you are looking at the happiest man in this world! I can't even begin to tell you how much pleasure it gives me today to announce that each of my wonderful children have found their soulmates and companions for life, and I request your blessings for all of them!" he boomed in his characteristic manner, looking very dashing and handsome, and everything a legendary king should be.

Thunderous applause greeted his warm words.

Then, with a beaming smile, King Jaren raised his glass to Jules and Bella, and announced, "Let me start with the eldest – my son and heir, Crown Prince Jules of the Emerald Kingdom, and my beautiful new daughter, Crown Princess Isabel of the Sapphire Kingdom – the two children who are the pride of my heart! I couldn't ask for a better couple to look after the citizens of the Emerald Kingdom as well as the Sapphire Kingdom, and I'm sure Queen Carolina would agree!"

Queen Carolina stood up and raised her glass to Jules and Bella as well. "I whole heartedly second King Jaren's views. My little Bella has always been my pride and joy and my heiress, and now, with this amazing boy Jules, my pride and joy is doubled, and I couldn't be happier! Crown Prince Jules of the Emerald Kingdom and Crown Princess Bella of the Sapphire Kingdom are so perfectly matched that it can only be heaven's blessing, and despite their young age, they have already achieved so much and touched the lives of the citizens of the Sapphire Kingdom as well as the Emerald Kingdom is such a positive way – I can only say that even the sky isn't the limit for this power couple!"

Jules and Bella blushed at the lavish praise.

"To Jules and Bella, and to the dawn of a magnificent new era under their able leadership!" King Jaren toasted.

"Hear, hear!" the loud voice of all the guests rang out, with all of them rising and raising their glasses to toast to Crown Prince Jules of the Emerald Kingdom and Crown Princess Bella of the Sapphire Kingdom.

The heirs to the two most prosperous kingdoms, joining hands in marriage and partnership – what a wonderful future for the two kingdoms!

When the crowd settled down, only King Jaren, Queen Carolina, Crown Prince Jules and Crown Princess Bella remained standing.

"Thank you, Papa, and thank you, Mother," the two teenagers said together, bowing formally. "We will try our best not to let you down." Then they turned to the crowd and bowed again. "We will work even harder in the future and try our best to live up to your expectations!" They promised together, holding up their joined hands.

Their promise led to another round of applause in the crowd. King Jaren and Queen Carolina beamed at the young couple, their faces glowing with parental pride.

Queen Carolina, Jules and Bella resumed their seats. King Jaren remained standing, and raised his glass towards Astra and Mana next.

"Now, moving to my second child, my lovely daughter Princess Astra of the Emerald Kingdom, and her famous fiancé, Crown Prince Mars of the Amber Kingdom!" he boomed. "What a lovely couple they make, don't you agree? They are so well-matched and it pleases this old Papa to see my children being so happy together. Crown Prince Mars truly cherishes my dear girl, and it warms my heart to see my Princess Astra aglow with her love and dedication to Crown Prince Mars. What do you think, King Orion?"

King Orion stood up and raised his glass as well. "My boy Mars is the son that I am the proudest of, and he is naturally my heir," he announced with a smiled. "And I am very glad to welcome the lovely Princess Astra of the Emerald Kingdom into my family. I hope the two of them would lead our countries to greater heights!"

"Wishing this beautiful couple all the best of happiness, and to happier times for us all!" King Jaren toasted.

"Hear, hear!" Thunderous applause broke through the crowd yet again.

Crown Prince Mars of the Amber Kingdom and Princess Astra of the Emerald Kingdom stood up and bowed. "Thank you, Papa. Thank you, Father," they both said together. Then, they, too, turned to the crowd and bowed. "We look forward to reaching greater heights!" they announced together.

Crown Prince Mars and Princess Astra exchanged a loving glance as the crowd applauded them as well.

Both King Jaren and King Orion smiled at them – the former beaming warmly in his signature style, and the latter with his cold-faced smile.

King Orion, Crown Prince Mars and Princess Astra resumed their seats, while King Jaren remained standing.

"And now, to my youngest ones," King Jaren said, the affection apparent on his face. "It has been known for many years that my little Princess Mana is the apple of my eye – but I have two eyes, and now we've found the other one, and that's Prince Raven of the Obsidian Kingdom. And even better, we've also found the ray of sunshine, the light which makes my eyes shine, my first grandchild – Royal Dragon Prince Azar of the Emerald Kingdom, the youngest and the most adorable member of the royal family of the Emerald Kingdom!"

"Grandpapa!" Azar called excitedly and flew into his arms. "Azar good boy!"

King Jaren laughed and caught him with one hand, managing not to spill his wine somehow.

"Ah, my little one, you're the best little boy in the world!" he announced, rubbing the little dragon's head fondly.

Azar's eyes glowed happily.

This time, the applause was thunderous enough to shake the walls. Azar was definitely popular.

Mana and Raven stood up and bowed to their adored Papa as well as the crowd amidst the applause.

"Prince Raven of the Obsidian Kingdom has not only saved my little Princess Mana, but also helped immensely with IMARI as well as handled many projects together with Crown Prince Jules, Crown Princess Bella, Lord Fox, Lady Vanilla, Princess Mana and, of course, Royal Dragon Prince Azar. This team of youngsters has achieved in a matter of months what it would take any grown up to achieve in many years – and we couldn't be prouder of this power team," King Jaren announced.

Fox and Vanilla flushed at being called out like this, but stood up and bowed, their faces red.

More applause followed, especially from the common citizens of all the kingdoms. Fox and Vanilla had become something of a legend these days, going from ordinary commoners to working with the royal children of three kingdoms as part of the same team, and achieving unprecedented success, and also being granted noble titles!

"We owe our success primarily to Prince Raven and Princess Mana," Vanilla – Lady Vanilla now – spoke up. "Without Mana and Raven giving us a chance and recognising our talents, and then later, without Crown Prince Jules and Crown Princess Bella joining in, neither Fox nor I would ever be able to do anything that we do now, nor would we have been able to achieve anything or gain recognition."

Fox nodded enthusiastically. "Indeed, without Mana, Raven, Jules and Bella, we would have achieved nothing. And it was Prince Raven and Princess Mana who found us first and gave us a chance, as my Lady Vanilla just said," Lord Fox spoke rather eloquently.

There was another round of applause and cheering from the crowd. Fox's family and Vanilla's father were seated at a table of high honour just after the royal table. Also on that table were the manager of the inn and his family – the people who had saved and housed General Aquila for the last ten years.

Fox and Vanilla sat down after toasting to Mana and Raven.

King Jaren beamed proudly. "I can't be happier or prouder that these two magnificent children, Mana and Raven have chosen to be together. They will surely lead us all into a future full of unimaginable progress and glory. Head Sage Yue, General Aquila and Crown Princess Pica will agree with me when I say that Prince Raven is the most amazingly talented child of his age I've ever seen – well, our little Mana is talented, too, of course."

Head Sage Yue stood up, a small smile on his face. "I have to agree with you on that, King Jaren. My son Raven and your daughter Mana are very talented with infinite potential, and our grandchild is the most unique of all," he announced.

There were loud cheers from the crowd, especially from the corner where the representatives of the Pearl Kingdom were seated.
