"Grandpapa, big bad magic, let's go," Azar said, tugging at King Jaren's hair and dragging him out of his dazed state.

Mana and Jules grabbed one hand each of their Papa, and Raven and Bella also moved protectively close to the man.

King Jaren smiled slightly and shook his head. "Yes, my little ones, let's go," he said softly.

With Azar and Alya pointing them in the direction they wanted to go in, the group really did end up in front of the imperial guest room allotted to King Jaren, just as they had feared.

"Wait!" the Captain of the imperial shadow guards of the Sapphire Kingdom called. "Let me open the door first, in case there is any danger." He turned to Queen Carolina and bowed. "Please, Your Majesty," he requested.

"Yes, of course, thank you, Captain," Queen Carolina said hurriedly.

The Captain and the Imperial Supreme Mage exchanged a glance and both of them moved together to open the door. Nothing happened when the door opened, so the two of them stepped in gingerly.

A moment later, a surprised cry came from the room, and Queen Carolina and King Jaren rushed in, with the children at their heels.

An unmoving figure lay on the large bed in the room. There seemed to be a lot of violently turbulent magical waves undulating around the bed – perhaps formed by an array. It was clearly this magic that was being referred to as 'big and bad magic' by their two little dragon babies over and over.

The magic was clearly nothing good, and it made their hair stand on one end. But even more surprising was the figure of a woman who was visible through the turbulent magic. Her face wasn't clearly visible through the magical waves flowing all around the bed, but it would be possible to see a bit if they moved closer.

King Jaren froze when he caught sight of the figure – it was evident that he had recognised the woman on the bed even from the hazy view that was visible to them at the moment. And the next instant, without any warning whatsoever, King Jaren fell back, unconscious, without making any sound at all. Fortunately, Jules and Bella were right behind him, or King Jaren would have fallen to the floor.

Jules and Bella quickly caught him and brought him to a couch.

Mana and Raven looked at the prone figure on the bed curiously, and moved a little closer. Mana was able to get a clear glimpse of the face of woman on the bed when the magic waves moved.

Then Mana gasped in shock as soon as she was able to catch a clear glimpse. "Mommy Dee?" she whispered, moving closer to the bed. Raven followed her immediately and caught her arm to prevent her from getting too close to the turbulent magic.

"Mommy! Daddy! Big bad magic!" Azar cried, flying over to Mana and Raven. He settled on Mana's shoulder.

Alya followed Azar, as always, and landed on Raven's shoulder.

"Can Alya eat big bad magic, Uncle Raven?" the little white dragon asked in a soft voice which no one other than Raven, Mana and Azar could hear.

Raven glanced at Azar. "Is it safe for Alya to eat this?" he asked the little black dragon, who was older and clearly more experienced with eating all sorts of big magic and bad magic.

Azar nodded. "Alya can eat half, and Azar can eat half, then Alya will not get bad magic tummy ache," he said sanctimoniously.

"All right, then," Raven said. "Alya and Azar can eat half and half of big bad magic, and then I will give both of you a treat and two nice arrays of good magic – how's that?"

Alya nuzzled Raven's face affectionately. "Thank you, Uncle Raven," she said sweetly.

Mana, meanwhile, was staring at the prone figure on the bed in shock. She knew this person. This was her father's younger sister in the modern world where she had lived, and Mana and her big brother used to call her Mommy Dee. She used to live with them most of the time until Mana became and adult, and then, Mommy Dee had suddenly disappeared. No one knew where she had gone.

Mana had adored Mommy Dee – after all, Mommy Dee had as much of a hand in raising Mana as her biological mother in the modern world! And Mana, who took after her father in the modern world, also shared her looks with Mommy Dee. When the two of them went out together, they were often mistaken for being a mother and daughter pair!

Mana's looks in this world of 'The Legend of Mars' was identical to her looks in the modern world. Her ten year old self in the modern world had looked exactly as she looked here right now. And this was one of the biggest reasons why, when Mana had learnt all about the soul splitting matter earlier, she had been able to accept it easily. If her name, her face – all of these were the same, then it was certainly much easier to believe that her soul was the same as well, right?

But then – why would Mommy Dee be here as well? Could she be related to this world as well…?

While Mana was caught in a daze, Jules and Bella had laid down King Jaren on the couch and approached the bed.

Jules, too, saw the prone figure on the bed and froze in shock. "Mommy Dee?" he whispered. "But – but how…?!"

For Jules, Mommy Dee had been a motherly figure who had often visited his Grandpa and Grandma and little Jules when he was very young, and then, about ten years ago, she had come to live with them for several years. In fact, she had been with them until last year, and she had suddenly disappeared last year without a word of warning to Jules. She had probably had some discussions with Grandpa and Grandma before leaving, because both of them had assured Jules that he would meet her again in the future. Jules had learnt many, many things from Mommy Dee over the years, and he had been heart broken when she disappeared. Fortunately, soon after, he found Raven and Mana, and then their lives changed completely.

But why was Mommy Dee here?

Mana's head whipped around when she heard Jules refer to the woman on the bed as 'Mommy Dee' as well.

"Big Brother – you – you know Mommy Dee?" Mana whispered.

Jules nodded, and then brought a finger to his lips. Mommy Dee had often told him that he should never speak about her to anyone else, and this was agreed upon by Grandpa and Grandma as well. And that's why none of them had ever mentioned anything about her to Mana or King Jaren or anyone else.

But now, Jules realised that Mana knew Mommy Dee as well – although he had no idea how Mana got to know her at all. Perhaps Mana had been told the same thing by Mommy Dee as Jules – that she was not to mention anything about her to anyone else.

But then – if that were to be the case – who exactly was Mommy Dee? And why had their Papa fallen to the floor in a dead faint as soon as he caught sight of her?

"Dad, Mama, can Alya eat big bad magic now?" the little white dragon asked, hopping from Raven's shoulder to Jules's shoulder.

Jules looked at Raven, who had become somewhat of a dragon expert amongst them.

Raven nodded.

"Go ahead, little one," Jules said.

Azar and Alya nodded at each other.

There was a blinding flash of golden light, and in less time than the human eye could perceive, the two little dragons had absorbed all the magic. Both grew a little bigger for an instant, but this time, Azar immediately settled back into his usual comfortable size, while Alya, who had yet to learn to control her own size, remained at a slightly bigger size.

After eating the big bad magic, the two little dragons looked expectantly at Raven. Raven chuckled and shook his head helplessly, and then pulled out four 'good magic' array biscuits from his pockets which had previously been certified by the little dragons as being super tasty. Mana and Raven usually baked a bunch of biscuits in different flavours and transferred arrays on to the biscuits. This made it seem like the little dragons were munching on biscuits and not arrays – the royal family of the Emerald Kingdom (and now that Sapphire Kingdom as well) didn't want anyone except themselves to know the true powers of the two little dragons. Mana and Raven had come up with this idea a few months ago, before all the Emerald Kingdom started receiving a lot of guests and Azar was thrown into the limelight.

Raven handed out two array biscuits each to Azar and Alya, and the two little dragons took them happily and started munching on them.
