Chapter 5: 5. Escape

Xue Ji forced a smile. Step back twice. She scratched her head, then said, "Young Master, we don't know each other. How can you so easily want to teach me cultivation? I… actually I already have a teacher, but because I'm so stupid I can't understand anything."

"Bai Xiu?" Xue Ji was speechless. The man introduced himself as Bai Xiu, but she didn't know him and didn't have a particular impression of that name. What's his real intention?

"I have to do one good deed so that I can leave my place without causing any trouble," the man continued.

The man claiming to be Bai Xiu folded his arms across his chest. His brow furrowed slightly. Suddenly another man appeared out of thin air, right behind him.

"She's sly indeed, but why doesn't she look as evil as imagined?" asked the stranger who had just appeared. "Maybe you've got the wrong person?"

Bai Xiu shook his head. "I have high confidence, though not a hundred percent." He turned to look at the newcomer. "Long Yu, try investigating another place. I'll keep an eye on the girl. Don't tell anyone about today."

"Agree."

Not far from the peak of Bing An is a small town called Ding Town. Although not as busy as the big cities, there are still plenty of food stalls. The smell of food that had not been smelled for over four hundred years made Xue Ji tremble, feeling like she was going to faint. She's really hungry!

Xue Ji struggled from corner to corner, running around like a mouse being chased by a cat. She was the mouse, while the stranger in white was the cat. Actually, Bai Xiu didn't go after her, but this was done as a precaution.

Meanwhile, Xue Ji looked at the empty seats and sat there happily. Not long after that, a waiter came to deliver the bottle of wine ordered. The service is very fast and satisfying.

Xue Ji immediately opened the bottle cap, inhaling the intoxicating scent of wine. It was a scent that had not been smelled for over four hundred years. No one knows how she feels right now. No one knew how she felt when she was finally able to come out of the spirit world and live again as a normal human.
