”In the end, we were mistaken all along… they even saved us by applying techniques to the ship.” (Jay)
Jay’s shoulders dropped after hearing what I’d said. He was so dejected, his back seemed as if it had a stone weight placed on it.
”And also, Wirk. I’m sorry. I’ve said some extremely rude things to you. I don’t think you’ll accept this apology, but please, accept this.” (Jay)
Then Jay bowed his head very deeply. No, doing that is kind of troubling.
”Don’t worry about it. Besides, I’m doing fine here on the island. My master’s master, well, anyways, founder-sama is probably glad too.” (Wirk) ”But…” (Jay) ”Besides. It’s all Dowal’s wrongdoings. It’s because of that guy’s unnecessary actions that he’s created unnecessary conflict.” (Wirk) ”Uni~! Uni uni!”
Hearing Dowal’s name, Uni went “That’s right, that’s right~” by waving his arms in the air and stomping his feet.
”Seriously, the more I hear about this Dowal guy, the more I realise what a terrible guy he is-nanoja!” (Bamboo Princess) ”Go-!” ”Koo~!” ”””””Mogu mogyu mo~gu~!”””””
The Bamboo Princess was mad. Kobelco, Keon, Kani, and even the moles all got agry together as well.
”He’s really an awful man, huh. That Dowal.” (Eph)
Eph was also in a bad mood after hearing about Dowal.
”Well, I didn’t think he had something to do with the dwarves leaving, either.” (Wirk)
But the more I think about it, it’s just foolish. Whether it be the dwarves or other craftsmen, he kept letting go of excellent human resources.
”But, I guess you could say this ship is a good gift. As expected of the founder, the architectural techniques are also refined. If I did a bit of treatment and also remodelled it with the dwarves’ skills, I think it could be reborn anew. It should be a strong weapon for future development.” (Wirk) [TL: that last sentence is literally written like that, though I expect it’s meant to be taken figuratively] ”Really? It’s already a really old ship, though.” (Jay)
Jay looked up at the ship while rubbing his chin. Seems he’s worried because it’s quite the antique.
”That’s exactly why. If anything, over all those many months and years, it hasn’t deteriorated at all. I guess the good condition it was kept in has something to do with it as well, but I’d also say it’s maybe because of the smooth combination of techniques and the dwarves’ skill.” (Wirk) ”… our skill and the magic architect’s techniques, huh… haha, that’s ironic. First we had an argument and left toward the island, and now we’re unexpectedly joining hands with a magic architect.”
Jay murmured so, seeming deeply moved. Looking at the result, that’s how it is.
But joining hands, huh. Things like the magic heavy machinery can’t be made with just the power of one person. It’s the same with the magic reverberatory furnace and the fortress we completed after coming to this island. In order to make something better, getting someone’s help really is indispensable.
”Yes Papa. Even if you didn’t realise it, now that the misunderstanding has been cleared up, you should realise how good Wirk can do, right?” (Eph) ”Hmph. I got that good thing over there. What do you like so much about this human’s thing?” (Jay) [TL: I tried… I really did. I may have simply looked too deeply into what Jay might’ve been trying to say, but it made sense, unfortunately. In case you haven’t picked up on it yet, Jay is (maybe?) using a double meaning here, referring to both Wirk’s things that he has made, yet also his “thing” down there. In his pants. I hope I’m wrong…]
Jay smirked, a scheming smile on his face as he asked Eph that. Eph’s face was immediately dyed red.
”Wh-, what are you talking about, you idioooot!” (Eph) ”Don’t be shy, don’t be shy.” (Jay)
Eph was repeatedly hit on the back by Jay. I don’t really get the meaning of what he just said, but I’m glad to see their father-daughter relationship is back to what it was before.
”Nonetheless. I still can’t simply allow that one yet.” (Wirk) ”That one?” (Wirk) ”That’s Wirk, you know. You’re dense, aren’t you-nanoja!” (Bamboo Princess)
The Bamboo Princess suddenly called me dense. I don’t get it!
”That’s enough! Wirk, thi-, this is, it’s not what you think!” (Eph) ”O-, oh…” (Wirk)
”Koo~?”
Eph thrust her finger forward, firmly emphasising so. I didn’t really get it, and Kani was also tilting her head to the side.
”Fuu, but come to think of it, that Dowal lot also did something somewhat helpful.” (Jay) ”Kyupi~?” ”Go-?” ”Mogu~?”
Jay’s statement made Keon and Kobelco, and Yambo from atop Jay’s head, let out a sound as though asking “what do you mean?”.
”Thanks to that guy exiling Wirk, he came to this island, and the feud was resolved. And it’s great for me that I got to join forces with an excellent magic architect.” (Wirk) ”Then, Papa!” (Eph) ”Yeah. I ask again, please forgive me. As I’ve been rude to you up till now, please accept our techniques as repayment!” (Jay)
Jay was in high spirits, flexing his biceps with a huff. I’ve made a reliable friend.
”I look forward to working with you. So, can I ask you for advice right now?” (Wirk) ”Gahaha, that’s how it is. But it seems interesting. Let’s also clear up this long-standing grudge with this.” (Jay) ”Long-standing grudge?”
”Against Dowal. Let’s show that b*****d what we’ve got. We’ll make him regret banishing Wirk.” (Jay) ”Yep! That sounds good!” (Eph) ”Umu. Besides, he banished Wirk, who had this much skill. When he surely comes to regret it soon enough, he’ll definitely be saying “I wish I hadn’t exiled him”-noja~.” (Bamboo Princess) ”Ooh. That’s right. But even so, what’ll you do if he comes back to Wirk crying, what will you do?” (Jay)
Jay asked me that. What if he comes crying to me later. Even if that does happen—
”Well, even if he says something like that, I’ll only say “it’s already too late!” and reject him. I don’t care what happens with that lot anymore.” (Wirk) ”Gahaha! That’s how it is. Alright, first we take down Dowal, no, we take down the Carcel Kingdom? Well, whatever. Then let’s decide on the current plan immediately. Then after that we’ll throw a grand welcome party!” (Jay) [TL: … there may not be much left to take down, you know…] ”Uni~♪” ”Mogu~!” ”Mogu-♪” ”Mogyu~!” ”Mo~gu~♪” ”Mogu mogu~♪” ”Kyupi~♪” ”Koo~♪” ”Go-!” ”Umu! It’s great to eat yummy things-noja~!” (Bamboo Princess) ”Wirk, s-, so, let’s get along from now on!” (Eph)
”Yeah, same here.” (Wirk)
And so, I got the dwarves to accept my work. I’ll be busy from now on, but anyway, today I’ll obediently accept the dwarves’ kindness. But, Dowal, huh. I don’t care anymore, but that country, is it still functioning properly…
