One evening.

I had brought “A Delicious Table with Alchemy” into the living room to consult with Father and Mother.

“It’s about the books that His Majesty gave me… His Majesty gave me this book on top of the ones I requested. Even though I am refraining from talking about it, I am wondering if His Majesty gave me this book out of interest or expectation,” I told my parents something that had been bothering me for a long time. 1

“Hmm, let’s see. There might be many people who are interested in something new and delicious,” Mother put her hand on her cheek and thought about it with me.

“But, you know, Daisy’s “fluffy bread” is very tasty, but don’t you feel like it’s a little bit too ordinary to be presented to His Majesty?” Father went ‘hmm’ and also thought together with us.

“How about alcohol?” Mother clapped her hands in front of her chest and her face screamed of ‘I came up with an idea!’.

“Ahh, that might be a good idea. His Majesty is fond of alcohol after all. If I remember correctly, His Majesty should like wine,” Father nodded in agreement.

…Hmm, if that’s the case, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it since I’m a minor, right?

“I’m a minor, so I can’t sample it. Therefore, can Father and Mother sample it for me?”

““Of course!””

My parents’ faces looked happy for some reason.

One morning, after ordering some wooden wine barrels and so on, I went to the morning market with Kate and Marcus. We all brought along large basket bags. I was going to buy different varieties of grapes.
Marcus and I have put off our morning schedule. I requested Dan to water the fields.

When we arrived at the city’s main street, the central square was filled with tons of off-the-cuff stores, which made my heart flutter.

“Kate, Marcus, this is amazing! It’s so crowded!”

I spun around in the middle of the square in high spirits. Then, I headed for the area where the stores which dealt in fruits were assembled.

“Oh my, Miss, are you searching for something?” the old lady who carried fruits called out to me.

“I want to make wine, so I came to buy grapes. Do you have any suitable grapes?” I asked her while looking around at all the variety of fruits on display.

“If that’s the case, it’s best to ask old man Basso at the furthest back of this row of shops,” the old lady said, then pointed further in the row of shops. Sure enough, there was an old man.

“Thank you very much!”

I headed to the store she told me about.

“Hello. I was wondering if there are any grapes suitable for winemaking?” I called out to the man who she called old man Basso.

Having been called out to, the old man looked up at me with a look that said, ‘Oh?’.

“…Miss, are you the one making it?”

The old man looked into my face with a curious expression.

“Yes, I want to make wine as a gift for somebody very important,” I answered honestly.

“Well then, I can help you choose the types that will make a first-class wine.”

“Heave-ho”, the old man stood up and walked to the front of the store where I was.

“I brought three baskets, so I’d be pleased if there are three different types.

“This is called Peno Loire, a typical type around here. It makes delicate, elegant wines.”

[Grape (Peno Loire)]

Classification: Ingredient, Food
Quality: High
Details: A gem harvested at the exact right time for winemaking. If made into wine, it will be an elegant wine with an aroma like violets as it ferments. It is best to uncork ahead of time with time to spare.

“Also, this I guess… This is Meroro. This will produce a wine with a fruity and nutty taste.”

[Grape (Meroro)]

Classification: Ingredient, Food
Quality: High
Details: A gem harvested at the exact right time for winemaking. If made into wine, it will be a soft, smooth, and mellow wine that carries flavors of blackcurrants and plums.

“And then, there’s this grape, the king of wine that became the origin of Brollo. These were brought in especially today.”

[Grape (Netteolo)]

Classification: Ingredient, Food

Details: A gem harvested at the exact right time for winemaking. If made into wine, it will carry a flavor deep and the style of a king. It is best to uncork ahead of time with time to spare.

Hmm, how lovely. It seems that there are many types of wines. I wanted to try making wine with these unique children.

“Gramps, I’ll take the three types of grapes that you recommended!”

We carried the basket full of grapes and headed home. It was heavy, and I had a tiny bit of help from Marcus…
