Chapter 68: Disgust

"Give me the pill, mother!" Turta asked while getting dragged by his mother.

"Here, take it!" His mother gently handed him the pill.

"Oh, it's tasty!" Turta exclaimed in delight after eating the pill. "Mother, it tastes sweet," He excitedly told his mother.

A smile spread across his mother's face as she gently said, "Okay, I'll buy you another pill in the future."

"Yay!" He exclaimed in happiness.

"Mother, why did you lie about having Ashamba in our house?" He suddenly asked while walking with his mother.

"Because of your safety, my dear son," She replied with a gentle look in her eyes.

She stopped in her footsteps, turned around facing him, and bent down to his height, "Turta, you should never tell your ability to anybody."

"You're special, my son. If people knew about your ability, they would take you away from me forever," She gently added with a hint of sadness in her voice.

"No one can do that, Mother. When I grow older, I'll be stronger than anybody and then no one will be able to take me away from you," Turta said while raising his fist in the air.

A drop of tear streamed down her cheeks as she hugged her son. "You don't know how cruel the people living in this world are?" She said with a slight tremble in her voice.

The next moment, she wiped her eyes that had turned moist, and a smile emerged on her face as she said, "Let's go!"

"Yes, let's go. I want to sleep on my bed," Turta happily responded.

What they both didn't notice was that someone was watching their every moment while comfortably sitting in his chair.

"Why did you suddenly get interested in that pair of mother and son?" Lily asked Aakesh in her childlike voice, seeing a projection showing every conversation and every action of the pair of mother and son.

It has been several millennials since he last used the skill 'Watcher'. He asked the pair to buy a pill because only then could he see their actions while comfortably sitting in his chair.

The next moment, Aakesh waved his hands as the projection disappeared. He could watch both the past and present, so he didn't need to watch it all the time if he wanted to know about the pair.

"The boy knows about Ashamba," Aakesh responded to Lily's question.

"So, isn't Ashamba known to everybody?" Lily confusedly asked. Ashamba was a Primordial entity that would shed its barks in regular intervals, and the shredded barks would get used in several treasures due to their ability to negate almost all the energies present in the Multiverse. So Ashamba, despite being a Primordial entity and standing at the top of the food chain, was a known entity.

"No, you're wrong. No one should have any knowledge of Ashamba in the area around several thousands of kingdoms," He responded, shaking his head.

"So, what has that got to do with him creating an interest?" She asked.

"You're wrong again. It's not the boy I am interested in, it's the mother," He responded.

"Why would you be interested in her? Is it because she talked about someone taking his son away from her?" She asked.

"No, I sensed disgust from her for the boy," He responded while flicking Lily's head.

"Ouch!" Lily groaned and hissed in response to the flick, but Aakesh only smiled seeing her reaction.

"Why would you think that?" She asked after rubbing her head.

"Who knows? We'll find out anyway by seeing her actions and what is the ability that the woman talked about," He smilingly responded. "Let's forget the pair of mother and son. We should go outside. Seeing the projection made me see the market from my own eyes," He added.

"Really!" She excitedly exclaimed. Aakesh nodded in response to her excitement. "Let's go!" She said and took the first step, and he smilingly followed her.

"Senior, you came out," Maria said, seeing Aakesh out on the road.

"Yes, Lily wanted to, so I thought why not," He expressionlessly responded. He then focused on the building Maria was standing in front of.

"Is your restaurant still incomplete?" He asked maria, seeing a shabby building. Some laborers were currently working on extending the height of the building.

"Yes, It would take a week to complete the building," Maria nodded as she had only moved here today, and before she bought the building, the store here sold antiques, so she had to do some construction in the building.

"Okay!" Aakesh expressionlessly responded and moved forward. Maria only smiled wryly, seeing him leaving. She then refocused her attention on the building at the laborers working on it. If Maria hired Earthern Trolls, her construction would be done in a day, but their fee was very high, and she didn't want to waste money before getting a secure source of revenue.

Aakesh had told her that many interesting things were to come in his store, so if she wanted to buy them, she needed a lot of money as she was confident that products would have outrageous prices.

"Where do you want to go?" Aakesh asked Lily as she was randomly walking in the market.

"Today, we would just check the market," Lily excitedly responded as it was the first time when she was breathing the air outdoor. Aakesh didn't say anything in response and silently followed her while looking at the experiences of the myriad people around the market.

He could see a lady arguing with the store owner about the prices for the vegetable.

"I have been buying from this store for years, and now you want to sell me these tomatoes for 10 bronze coins per Kg," The lady argued.

"I had only started this business last month, and you've been buying from me for years?" The store owner scoffed, hearing the argument of the lady.

"So, what? I've been buying from this store since the store opened, so I would only buy it if you sell me two Kg at 15 bronze coins," The lady said.

"19 bronze coin for two Kg!" The store owner said.

"16 bronze coins!" The lady said.

"18 bronze coins! If you want to buy, buy at this price; otherwise leave," The store owner said his final price.

"Done!" the lady agreed right away. She paid the price and took out tomatoes.

Aakesh saw several scenes like this in the market.
