Chapter 1329: Selecting the Candidate(16)
Phily calmed down since he had expected an answer like that from the store owner.
"Senior, if I borrow the sum from the store and somehow die somewhere, will you recover the amount from my family?" It was the most prominent question in Phily's mind. He did not want his loved ones to have to deal with the consequences of his borrowing money if an unfortunate accident occurred. At the same time, the way he referred to Aakesh changed.
"No, the contract is between the store and you. Your family has nothing to do with it," Aakesh replied. Phily heaved a sigh of relief, but he no longer did so when he heard what Aakesh said next.
"Whenever you borrow any amount from the store, the store will keep an infinitesimal part of your soul. It will not affect your talent or cultivation in any way. If you die in an unfortunate accident before you have completely repaid your debt, the store will use that soul portion to recover the debt."
"So, in any way, the store will recover its debt," Phily responded with a helpless smile.
Aakesh only nodded in response to Phily. The store was not a charity, and it only cared for its profits. Aakesh also felt the same, so he didn't disagree with the system on how to recover its debts.
Even if the system didn't act, Aakesh would act to recover the debts since he would be earning a lot from it. Since it was Aakesh's suggestion to the system, he didn't earn only five percent of the commission; he and the system shared fifty percent of the interest amount.
Phily stood there silently, thinking about what to do. After a long pause, Phily took a deep breath since a decision had been made.
"Senior, I would like to use that function," Phily requested.
"I will remind you again that you can only use the borrowed amount inside the store. Do you still confirm your decision?" Aakesh asked. The store treated every customer equally and fairly, so Aakesh didn't want to see any customer regret their decision.
"Yes, senior, I confirm," Phily answered. There was no going back now that a decision had been made.
Once Phily confirmed, Aakesh requested the system. The next moment, a blue light covered the square box. Even though Phily stood there, he was unable to see it.
The square box grew taller, with a new section appearing in it. There was a switch and a thin-rectangular hole for the card to fly out.
Aakesh pressed the switch, and the next moment, a card flew into his hand.
It was a deep blue card, with a small screen on it. On the back of the card, there was the storefront pattern in gold.
The card was ordinary in the sense that it had no abilities. But how could anything that originated from the store be ordinary?
The same was the case with the card. It was an indestructible card and was also the only item that could be stored in the infinite space inside any of the three store cards other than Sacred stones.
Aakesh then handed the card to Phily. Phily respectfully took it, and the next moment, the small screen on the card lit up.
The screen on the card had three sections. The first section would show the monetary limit of the customer. The second section would show the borrowed amount, while the third section would show the remaining amount.
When the light disappeared, the limit on how much Phily could borrow appeared on the card.
Phily's eyes almost popped out of their sockets when he saw the amount on the card.
"So, how much do you want to borrow?" Aakesh asked since the system informed him of Phily's limit.
The amount was lower than what Aakesh had expected, but since Phily was still very far from achieving even one percent of the benefit, it was understandable for his limit not to be very high.
Aakesh and Phily's thought processes were entirely different. Phily felt a mixture of emotions in his heart when he saw the limit.
Aakesh had simply explained the function to him so he understood the immensity of his fortunes. It was a troubling as well as a joyful event.
Joyful because he had great fortune, troubling because with great fortune came great danger. There was no free reward in the world.
Phily's limit at that time was one hundred ultimate Sacred stones, and it was an amount, Phily never imagined seeing.
Phily took a deep breath and decided on the amount he needed to borrow.
"Senior, I want to borrow one ultimate Sacred stone," Phily stated.
Aakesh nodded and asked, "For how long do you want to borrow it?"
Before Phily could answer, Aakesh added, "Think of the tenure carefully. You will be paying interest on that. There are no benefits such as early payment in the store."
Aakesh cautioned Phily before he made his decision. If Phily chose an extremely long tenure, the interest he would need to pay would be extremely high.

Phily nodded and responded, "Senior, I want to set the tenure for one thousand years."
Even though the tenure was small, he would still need to pay one ultimate Sacred stone as an interest amount.
Phily had another reason for taking that amount since the store owner hadn't laid out any rule where he couldn't pay back the interest on the remaining amount. Phily decided to give him one thousand years, and if he still failed to get the stone despite the mysterious benefit he earned, he would pay it back using the Credit Card he already had.
To make sure that there was something like that before signing the contract, Phily asked Aakesh about it. Aakesh nodded since he and the system had taken that into consideration when the system was finalized.
Since the interest amounts would be high, Aakesh and the system had decided to let it be for the customers. It's not like the store would make a loss anyway.
The contract was signed between the two parties, and the remaining two sections on the screen on the card lit up after it. As Aakesh had said, Phily also felt an unbearable pain of his soul getting cut. But it was a fleeting moment.
Once everything was done, Phily walked toward the beast room. He decided to give himself another try at summoning and see if he would still be able to get an ultimate quality beast.
After a long wait, it was his turn. Hoping to see a powerful and expensive beast, he pressed the button.
The next moment, '2' appeared on top of the screen, and the square light began to rotate. Three seconds passed in a flash, and an unfamiliar beast to Phily appeared on the screen.
